Brilliant, thanks for taking the time to make these film's. It takes me right back to a more innocent and simple time. I've very fond memories of the vehicles and also the people who operated and drove them for a living
There's no doubt about it that 1937 Great Orme bus with canvas up top is just a show stopper. What a pity we couldn't get a peak inside or listen to her start up.
Beautiful vehicles, the first truck in the video, the Bedford cf mk1 holds special memories for me, my Dad who had his own small business doing tarmacadam and concreting bought a brand new one in 1972, I remember it came as a chassis and cab and was only painted in primer. He and his brother built the timber body, it was a beautiful thing and I wish we still had it. If I remember correctly as I was only 11, it cost £1,700, from Boggan Motors in Wexford. Lovely video many thanks! Gérard.
Out of all the lorries my father drove in the fifties and sixties I have a soft spot for Foden. In particular the model S20.I think it was way ahead of its time in design. my father got a brand new one in January of 1959. I think it was the nicest looking lorry on the road.
What a day in heaven that must have been! Loved them all but my favourite there was the cute little Morris J type at the beginning. Love it's sad face (gimme a break, I'm female 😂). Had hoped to see a few Scammells; even the Scarab but sadly not here. Thanks to all the owners for their time and dedication to keeping those amazing vehicles on the road ☺️
Great range of kit there ! First time to see an early Commer grille and badge, close up, on that amazing bus. Bus with a sunroof ! My favourites have always been the Fodens - love that amazing front design of the ’50s and ’60s. ERF in close second. As a kid, always loved the sound of the Commer TS3 lorries (and the few busses that were over here). The Bedford TK and the Ford D-series give me the warm fuzzy feels ! Very much the backdrop of my teens and early twenties. Ok … I like all lorries!
My father drove lorries from the mid sixties onwards, he drove (and I rode in) examples of many of those lorries. I have a soft spot for the Atkinson Borderers myself.
They do appear at some events around here, but not too often. I'm not sure why, there are photos of Traders in some of the photo compilation videos on here, but I'll keep a keen eye out for them when we go to shows this year :)

Greetings from Australia. These old British trucks are so stylish, just amazing to look at.
Thanks for watching it Andrew
Great video and commentary I love seeing all these old vehicles
Jot my truck license in a Bedford j series in 1982 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching, hope to have more commercial vehicle content to upload soon
Thank you for taking us along. What beautiful lorries!
Thanks for checking it out, lorries always seem popular on the channel whenever anything like this is uploaded
@@oldclassiccarUK makes a lot of sense. I’m from the states and got really interested in them thanks to my years of collecting Matchbox cars.
Super videos. Thank you for saying Lorries not Trucks. Keep up your super channel. Thanks again.!!
Thanks Douglas
Who said the 1950s were in black and white? Brilliant, thanks.

I take my hat off to everyone of the people that own and maintain all those trucks
It is quite an undertaking and considerable cost 👍👍👍😍😍
Excellent thank you...🥂

The Commer coach is a sheer beauty. My favourite in show too
Have to agree with you, as the Commer coach is beautiful. Pleased to see the body was built at my home Town. Thanks for sharing your trip out.
The grey ERF with the red stripe looks like one of D.C.Thompson's Beano Boys. Anonymous in the age of Trade Unions.
Brilliant thank you, great show, cheers from co.Cork.
Thanks James!

I love classic lorry’s and old sign writing. The hole thing was a work of art. They definitely don’t make them like they used to. Great video 👍

I was at an event yesterday (Goodwood) where some of the big heavy WW2 Scammells were being driven, so keep your eye open for that upload
@@oldclassiccarUK Oh excellent! Can't wait...
Hi Enjoyed the video the Commer coach looks good but my favourite was the Matador. Regards Brian.
My favourite is my Cologne built 1944 Ford V3000s also the AEC Matador.
Completely understand old chap keep up the good work ☝️☝️
Just to add, that Matador is stunning.

I loved all the trucks I can't really pick a favorite, but I have a soft spot for models from the fifties and sixties

Are There any Thames Trader Around Anywhere ?

Do you ever see guy lorries?
Occasionally but not often, I'll make a concerted effort to look them out at future events!
Please please please cut out the 70s and 80s stuff more 1930 to 1960s👍
Thanks for watching, yes I prefer the older examples but I try to cater for a broad church, I do have some pre-war lorry content in mind fear not
Completely understood old chap - keep up the good work
