When the name ERF is mentioned, I always think of the KV.They couldn’t be mistaken for anything else and they were everywhere when I was a lad,the lengthy production run might have had a lot to do with that.My favourites are the Bensons Toffee van and the green crew cab.Greaat collection yet again.
Excellent, l love the KV model with the sweeping windows although they are all nice. It just shows what a variety of configurations were available back then Most stuff now is fairly boring, can't imagine getting very excited about any of the current stock. Thanks for sharing this collection .👍
Hi love this video, as back in the 60s I worked on these as an apprentice so a very nostalgic video for me - thank you. However, would it be possible to drop (the very distracting) background music please. Thanks again Stu
MOST OF THE B SERIES ERFs THE GARDNER ENGINE THAT STARTED IN THEM WOS THE 6LX CLASSIC 180 OLY SO MANY B SERIES ERFs HADE 6LX GARDNER 150s IN THEM MY DAD HADE ONE THAT TRANSPORTED THE BOTTOM OF OWER WALTZERS ON IT THE ENGINE WOS OPEND UP IT DON 80 MILL A HOUR IT WOS A CRACKING LORRIE AND A GOOD OLD SERVENT AS MY DAD USE TO SAY GOD BLESS HIM
I passed my HGV 1 in a B series ERF back in March '83. I hated them ever after. They may look very pretty these days but they were awful to work in, Noisy, uncomfortable and totally gutless lorries.
Thanks for watching, yes I'm sure the reality of driving many of these older lorries on a daily basis must be very different to occasionally taking one to a show now.
@@oldclassiccarUK I think the biggest problem with ERF and this goes for Foden too, is that they never really kept up with the European competition and compared to driving something like a brand new Volvo or Scania etc, etc, a brand new ERF felt like it was ten years out of date. They were always extremely reliable though.

Looking at this video I would be interested to know if a B series HDF 786N is still around.
It doesn't show up on a check of the DVLA site
