Great tip! I tried and tried and couldn't get this feature to work. Then I figured it out. At the time, I was using a manual focus lens. Hard to get autofocus work on a manual focus lens. DUHH!! There is just no excuse for stupidity! Changed to an autofocus lens and the process works perfectly. Oh well.
Thanks for the video. How about taking effectively a picture? Do you have to have those buttons pressed at the moment when you fully depressed the shoter button to take the picture?
The G9 is now 5 years old in January 2023 and no sign of an upgrade or replacement so are Panasonic dumping M4/3? Also it would be useful to have this function shown on the screen so that you know which one is in play. And for those of us who are bird photographers it would be a welcome addition to have bird eye focus capability which is available on several other brands.

And for a new filmmaker purchasing an S5 body,do u have a recommendation for a good lens with a $500 dollar budget? Or 2 in that budget if possible?
Focus🎉I set these on Gh6. So far means everything in front of lens is in focus at the right fstop? I struggle with large room w multiple subjects like karate dojo w constant breathing. Near or far help? Wich one if so?Thank you

Great video. I want to try this. I kept getting twigs in focus that were in front of flowers. Blurry flowers was not my goal.

I do not have "focus near" and "focus far" in my menu on any of the 17 pages under Fn4 button
