i hate that plague is selling the parkour loop in a controller to be unwieldy and hard too, when its not...its pretty much a muscle reflex and easy to learn...
Everything can be mastered via muscle memory, for every individual it's based on what they are already used to whether or not it makes it easier. This means people who play EVERYTHING on a controller may as well just stick to the controller, and vice versa. Once I started PC gaming and gave up the controller 8 years ago I only ever pick it up again for action games with no shooting.

The only thing noobs of Warframe need to know starting out is 1. Learn the parkour movement system (example, rolling gives a 75% dmg reduction) 2. Open up your Arsenal, Market(to buy blueprints with *credits), foundry 3. Run the planet progression/noob quests (starting on Earth, its literally a arrow pointing yellow brick road of where to go) 4. (Most importantly) experiment with your mods as you get them and HAVE FUN It’s not complicated, DE respects the players intelligence and doesn’t spell it all out (well enough) for the infantile casual that wants the game to play itself for him. Don’t worry about anything else. HOLD ON TO YOUR PLAT and buy inventory slots for weapons and frames as you get them.

Actually Warframe is extremely complicated, the difference is that it is easier to learn as you go then learn through research when you are starting off. I mean just look at all the different frames, trying to explain to knew players or look them up when you have barely played is just as confusing as the massive hero lists for MOBAs like Dota or LoL, but if you experiment with them as you play you get a decent base understanding that the research and explanations start to make a lot more sense
The only frames that matter are the ones you get available to you early on, rhino and Oberon. not all 30 +. Out of all the weapons most are rank locked. Again a noobs first weapons come from what’s available for credits in the market. You don’t need to worry about the mod system cuz your only going to have a handful of mods to start out with, nothin for a build. So don’t worry about it until you get more. The only things important are what you can do. Now, re-read my post above. The only issue really is the dizzying amount of things a noob see out the gate and grows discouraged. From what i know there is no prime warframe with weaker stats than the normal one and prime weapons are sidegrades to other versions of that weapon (sybaris prime is an upgrade to sybaris, but a sidegrade to the dex sybaris)
Prime Warframes are objectively better than their base compart (maybe aside from design sometime ?) but it's usually for making your build more efficient and less costy compared to the base, otherwise it's basically the same thing and you can be just as efficient with a base one as a Prime one. Most Prime weapons are indeed basically better version than base weapons (Sybaris Prime is actually better than both base and Dex Sybaris) and a chunk of them are either side grade (Cernos Prime which acts like a shotgun bow) or have an interesting gimmick (Ballistica Prime creates a ghost of an enemy you killed to you help you out) but it doesn't forcibly means that they are the high all-end weapons, a lot of other non prime weapons are as efficient or even better. This game obviously has weapons designed to be used for low level weapons and then go for a better option but you still have a whole lot of choices at your disposition you can play around with, I really encourage people to play this game, it's gonna be hard to get in but don't be scared to ask questions, this game is great.
Dex Sybaris has 35% crit which is fantastic but Sybaris Prime not only has 30% crit chance (which is still super high) but all 25% status chance, which is high as well. So you can basically do an hybrid of Crit Hunter Munitions and Status proc of your choice (the most useful choice being Corrosive) and you're basically melting enemies in barely a second
Personally I prefer Valkyr over Ivara. Of course they're both fine looking ladies in the end. Also does this mean we'll be getting a Best Friends Play Warframe which is in a style similar to that of Monster Hunter World?
warframe had - 22 major updates - 10 to 17 smaller content updates between those major updates - and between those smaller updates were hotfixes all for free in free game to begin with , if what isint enough to get you into game how about its the best dam third person looter shooter game right now on the market if your into looting games and I really mean looting mountains of content your in for a ride , this game has over 5 years worth of content , alot of systems and no hand holding and best of all a plot twist you wount see coming unless your already got spoiled
Okay, it *is* complicated, but trying to throw everything at them at once just complicates it more: Start with the tutorial stuff, do the nodes, check the codex for quest prerequisites, do quests once those are met, work up to War Within and do that to get *spoilers* which makes life so much easier. Things will start unfolding and opening up from there. Also join a dojo for weapon research, and look up builds for upgrading arsenal through mods to get an idea of what affects what, doing that can help feel out a personal playstyle to build towards.
There is controller support on pc, you can also change the UI so that it works just like on xbox or ps4(don't remember if it's in the game currently or not yet)
I have put in 1000+ hours on PC and 500+ hours on PS4 the controls are actually quite good and easy to learn on both platforms I wouldnt say there are any problems with them on either and there is controller support on PC Warframe is an amazing game and I absolutely love teaching new players how to play because I get to relive that first stage of amazement at how much fun this game really is through them

I've played Warframe for over 100 very enjoyable hours now and I'm still confused by certain aspects. Granted I haven't done as much research as I should have.
Ive only been playing for a week now and i cant seem to up my mastery past lvl 2. Is leveling faster when youre playing public? im just trying to get to mr3 for cernos bow. Im playing solo because im not good at the game yet (Not great at utilizing abilities and weapons effectively) I dont want to piss anyone off or weight them down.
One more question, is the nami solo as fun to use as the skana? I could probably play entire missions with it just because its fun to use all the moves.
jumping isn't hard, it's the landing on a precise sweet spot during all the mayhem that is making the K&M superior to the controller.. Edit: note how I didn't say you can't do it. It's just so much easier and precise with the K&M.
On PC I spend 8 hours continue pressing ctrl with my pinky and and spacebar with my thumb and it hurts but after a certain amount of time I got used to it lol.
The funny thing about Warframe is that it just works; simple as that. DEspite the incomprehensible-ness of the start, once you learn to roll with the madness it just kinda works. And it works well, seeing as the 5-year anniversary just rolled by.
As a new player to Warframe all it took was the beautiful sci-fi setting for me to know that I wanted to learn everything I needed to know to get into it. Learning it was very enjoyable and probably the thing I miss the most about the game.... Finding new things and figuring out how they worked. The early game in Warframe is so nostalgic.
The issue of Console Version vs PC isn't so much in the controller - the game is OK with the controller, but in the UPDATES. The PC version is updated several times a week, the PC version is always changing and sometimes it gets new mechanics, new weapons, new places etc. Console versions have to be updated in batches so Console versions are comming only like once a month - PC players are enjoying new stuff, especially the QoL fixes we got lately, but Console players are constantly behind.
The worst thing about the console versions is the horrible FPS drop HELL you enter if you matchmake for Fissures and stuff and the LAG. The game is very much not optimized for consoles. I know. I play on both Xbox One X and PS4.
In case you haven't seen the Noclip documentary about Warframe by now, you definitely should check it out. Many of your problems with the game will make sense once you realize how the game gets developed. Spending too much time on new players doesn't help the game as much as you would think. Also the opinions in this video are highly polarized and do not reflect the game very well...to be fair, you have to spend at least a couple of hundred hours to be able to judge what systems are balanced or make sense. It's very hard to describe the game to new people. Showing them advanced gameplay action would be a much easier way to give them an idea of what sets this apart from your ordinary 3rd person shooter.

Warframe is by far one of the best controlling games on console. The button layout is very smart and if you play claw/have a pro controller the fluidity of the gameplay is comparable to PC.

Maaan to capture that wonder of discovering warframe for the first time again. Take the ride slow, breathe it all in, and learn it at a snails pace. the standard controls for ps4 are x jump, circle melee, square reload, triangle change weapons (tap to change between primary and secondary, hold to change to melee), L1 to crouch (L1 and x to bullet jump) L2 aim (with primary and secondary, with melee L2 does channeling) R1 to activate your warframes ability panel in the botom right corner then while R1 is held x is ability 1 square is ability 2 circle is ability 3 and triangle is ability 4, and R2 to fire primary and secondary and block with melee, but you can change it to how you want to use it an you can even add key logging so using the D-pad can changed so you can add way points or use items like energy pads or look at the map overview or add other things to it

First codex entry regarding the story happened in 2013. People do well in Warframe the moment they recognize that playing with friends and dealing with the community is the best way to learn. No hand holding here. Make friends, enjoy the game more. I've trained... dozens of people because I was lost and only had help when a kind soul decided to help me out. So pay it forward tenno. It'll pay dividends.
And warframe is one of those games that bashing it does as much good as trying to sell it. It's so easy to pick out pros and cons that balance each other out
It is tough to sell a game that can be so confusing to new players. I gave up on it the first time for that reason. Then picked it up again prior to Destiny 2. I allowed myself to waste time with that dumpster fire before returning to WF.

maybe warframe is not that intuitive at first. you need to spend some time to get used to the menus and all that (played since it came out in steam, i remember coming back after a year, and got lost in a new ship interface stuff yadda yadda.) needed to spend some time to understand what was going on, but when you do its a good game i guess

i would say the big reasons why the community is so friendly is that 1) Warframe never tells you enough so the community has ALWAYS had to make up for it, so from the beginning we've been grown and groomed to inform each other and 2) the Economy system requires everyone who is actually committed to the game to interact with one another. Really emphasizes the Golden rule idea.
I feel it plays so much better on controller but the control of the game has its own learning curve it self, and that fact is why I enjoy it even more.
I've had several people who played Warframe on the PC join me in playing it on the PS4, and they've almost all agreed that the game controls much better on PS4. The big thing you lose out on is chat and that's about it. The Bullet Jump combo is L1+X, X, L1 and so on. Most players learn to bullet jump before they even master using both analog sticks to move and shoot at the same time (honestly, I've watched a few new players and they start zipping around before they can even aim).
Early game, Mk-1 stuff in the market; early-mid, non mk-1 stuff in market: mid on dojo and prime bits. Just a horrendous grind sometimes, but really fun when you get that new shiny weapon
What makes the community so nice is because the game does so poorly when it comes to explaining itself that veterans needs to jump in an baby these peeps... Also, as a MR 21 (at 2,800 hours)... I haven't leveled up any of the MK-1 weapons yet which are the beginner weapons... since I didn't know of their existence since recently...
Last i touched the game it was 2014, after i got tired of grinding after getting some polearm or something. I went back out of curiosity after the podcast, and oh boy the game has changed, but oh boy i'm so back in. I had even ingame currency that i don't remember buying so i might as well get back into the grind.
Fool proper and the fastest movement is run slide bullet jump double jump and Dodge roll. (Double jump then immediately Dodge roll) if you want to go even faster, go melee only and block for a brief second to hit the ground faster and repeat. For more narrow spaces hold block side and Dodge roll. While blocking you can steer yourself
Yes, it has controller support on PC. You can plug in any console controller into a PC and its like playing on a console...but with prettier graphics and faster frames.

I had no problem figuring what I needed to do as a new player. Lotus told you what to do, not difficult, in my opinion.

Ive only been playing for a week now and i cant seem to up my mastery past lvl 2.
Is leveling faster when youre playing public? im just trying to get to mr3 for cernos bow.
Im playing solo because im not good at the game yet (Not great at utilizing abilities and weapons effectively) I dont want to piss anyone off or weight them down.
One more question, is the nami solo as fun to use as the skana?
I could probably play entire missions with it just because its fun to use all the moves.
Its not hard to bullet jump on controller.
jumping isn't hard, it's the landing on a precise sweet spot during all the mayhem that is making the K&M superior to the controller..
Edit: note how I didn't say you can't do it. It's just so much easier and precise with the K&M.

i just swapped the buttons of melee attack and crouch, made it so much easier
On PC I spend 8 hours continue pressing ctrl with my pinky and and spacebar with my thumb and it hurts but after a certain amount of time I got used to it lol.

The funny thing about Warframe is that it just works; simple as that. DEspite the incomprehensible-ness of the start, once you learn to roll with the madness it just kinda works.
And it works well, seeing as the 5-year anniversary just rolled by.
As a new player to Warframe all it took was the beautiful sci-fi setting for me to know that I wanted to learn everything I needed to know to get into it. Learning it was very enjoyable and probably the thing I miss the most about the game.... Finding new things and figuring out how they worked. The early game in Warframe is so nostalgic.
The issue of Console Version vs PC isn't so much in the controller - the game is OK with the controller, but in the UPDATES. The PC version is updated several times a week, the PC version is always changing and sometimes it gets new mechanics, new weapons, new places etc. Console versions have to be updated in batches so Console versions are comming only like once a month - PC players are enjoying new stuff, especially the QoL fixes we got lately, but Console players are constantly behind.
The worst thing about the console versions is the horrible FPS drop HELL you enter if you matchmake for Fissures and stuff and the LAG.
The game is very much not optimized for consoles. I know. I play on both Xbox One X and PS4.
In case you haven't seen the Noclip documentary about Warframe by now, you definitely should check it out. Many of your problems with the game will make sense once you realize how the game gets developed. Spending too much time on new players doesn't help the game as much as you would think. Also the opinions in this video are highly polarized and do not reflect the game very well...to be fair, you have to spend at least a couple of hundred hours to be able to judge what systems are balanced or make sense. It's very hard to describe the game to new people. Showing them advanced gameplay action would be a much easier way to give them an idea of what sets this apart from your ordinary 3rd person shooter.
Started with volt, built rhino, didn't like it and wanred nova. Got mag in the meantime and grinding for plastids to build the last bit of nova.

Warframe is by far one of the best controlling games on console. The button layout is very smart and if you play claw/have a pro controller the fluidity of the gameplay is comparable to PC.

Edit: Warframe has alot of nice people because they know the pain of learning the game. They know their brain's just can't handle it, like it's gonna expload. all the hardships that an old player got will think: Oh god...this game' progression system's bad....I have to find a new player and help him. And the new player will be blown away and starts to go away or starts to play the game. and if they play the game they will also think that they also need to help the others. it's like a master to student bond thing. Or maybe more like a family bond. THAT is the REAL BEAUTY of this game. It showed us that We're not just gamers. We're humans, we Thrive not just on our own. But with others around us.

Having come back to Warframe just a few months ago, there is one thing that has stuck around since the game's beginnings, and that is TO GO FAST.
Maaan to capture that wonder of discovering warframe for the first time again. Take the ride slow, breathe it all in, and learn it at a snails pace. Once you master the bullet jumps and the cool ability kills and gun/sword tricks. You’ll feel like a GOD, or you’ll conquer it feeling like you’ve mastered a whole sport
the standard controls for ps4 are x jump, circle melee, square reload, triangle change weapons (tap to change between primary and secondary, hold to change to melee), L1 to crouch (L1 and x to bullet jump) L2 aim (with primary and secondary, with melee L2 does channeling) R1 to activate your warframes ability panel in the botom right corner then while R1 is held x is ability 1 square is ability 2 circle is ability 3 and triangle is ability 4, and R2 to fire primary and secondary and block with melee, but you can change it to how you want to use it an you can even add key logging so using the D-pad can changed so you can add way points or use items like energy pads or look at the map overview or add other things to it

In warframe you are one of hundreds of kids that were survivors who came back drone an expedition into the void but when you came back you were more than human you had special berry volatial abilities and the warframes are conduits for your powers of mad destruction

First codex entry regarding the story happened in 2013. People do well in Warframe the moment they recognize that playing with friends and dealing with the community is the best way to learn. No hand holding here. Make friends, enjoy the game more. I've trained... dozens of people because I was lost and only had help when a kind soul decided to help me out. So pay it forward tenno. It'll pay dividends.

And warframe is one of those games that bashing it does as much good as trying to sell it. It's so easy to pick out pros and cons that balance each other out
It is tough to sell a game that can be so confusing to new players. I gave up on it the first time for that reason. Then picked it up again prior to Destiny 2. I allowed myself to waste time with that dumpster fire before returning to WF.

i would say the big reasons why the community is so friendly is that 1) Warframe never tells you enough so the community has ALWAYS had to make up for it, so from the beginning we've been grown and groomed to inform each other and 2) the Economy system requires everyone who is actually committed to the game to interact with one another. Really emphasizes the Golden rule idea.

I feel it plays so much better on controller but the control of the game has its own learning curve it self, and that fact is why I enjoy it even more.

I've had several people who played Warframe on the PC join me in playing it on the PS4, and they've almost all agreed that the game controls much better on PS4. The big thing you lose out on is chat and that's about it.
The Bullet Jump combo is L1+X, X, L1 and so on. Most players learn to bullet jump before they even master using both analog sticks to move and shoot at the same time (honestly, I've watched a few new players and they start zipping around before they can even aim).
Early game, Mk-1 stuff in the market; early-mid, non mk-1 stuff in market: mid on dojo and prime bits. Just a horrendous grind sometimes, but really fun when you get that new shiny weapon
What makes the community so nice is because the game does so poorly when it comes to explaining itself that veterans needs to jump in an baby these peeps...
Also, as a MR 21 (at 2,800 hours)... I haven't leveled up any of the MK-1 weapons yet which are the beginner weapons... since I didn't know of their existence since recently...

Last i touched the game it was 2014, after i got tired of grinding after getting some polearm or something. I went back out of curiosity after the podcast, and oh boy the game has changed, but oh boy i'm so back in. I had even ingame currency that i don't remember buying so i might as well get back into the grind.

Warframe's community is great because stupidly complex systems wards away the toxic babies.
Warframe has a nice community because the math and grind is too hard for kids, so the kids all go to Fortnite.

Fool proper and the fastest movement is run slide bullet jump double jump and Dodge roll. (Double jump then immediately Dodge roll) if you want to go even faster, go melee only and block for a brief second to hit the ground faster and repeat. For more narrow spaces hold block side and Dodge roll. While blocking you can steer yourself
The problem with warframe is... DE treat players as they were smart, but not all of them are smart. The end.
