    It costs a little more to have a pre-spooled line, but when you're in the middle of a trimming job th-cam.com/users/postUgkx429xwEjNPnwzQohFrURRyKF51YfOD_Du , it is so nice to just pop out the old one and pop in a new one. Love Black & Decker tools. Especially the 20-volt battery operated ones. And, as usual, it came on time. Thanks Amazon!

    Thanks for this video. It took any hesitation that I had out of converting my Echo GT-225 string trimmer head to the Echo 400 speed feed head. My trimmer was purchased in 2017 and was just a little different when the trimmer head was taken off than the Echo version Gt-225 n the demo, but the video was presented so clearly that all the tips included here were a perfect help. Thanks again.

    I'm so glad I found this video. I just got one of these heads and was trying to figure out the installation. After watching your video I had it on in about two minutes and it works amazing!

    The instruction manual that came with the trimmer and the 400 speed feed head wasn't even close to being useful in changing to the speed head. This video showed how to install the white adapter with a step by step demonstration. Excellent!!

    I just bought a gt-225 today along with the speed feed spool. I knew that annoying stupid stock POS wasn't going to work.
    Got it all home and soon found out the directions are garbage.
    You're video saved me a ton of frustration and disappointment.
    Thank you sir!

    Had no idea this was possible, my gt 225 has been sitting in the barn for a year...replaced it with an srm 225 with a speed feed head, long story short someone was weedeating and lost spring that goes inside the cap so now you have to feed the string manually, ended up ordering a new speed feed head that comes with an extra spring...going to put the new head on the gt and put the spring in the srm head so it will feed string when I bump it!

    I bought this weed eater a month ago. If i used it longer than 30 minutes it would die and overheat. Took it back within my one month warranty and exchanged it for one way more powerful. Found a used 4 step upgrade at the same store, used once, already had the speed feed head on it. It was a friend of mine at the store and gave it to me for the same price. I really really lucked out. Just wanted to share that if you plan to use this unit for longer than 30 minutes, it will get hot and die and not start till it cools off. I thought it would be stronger than that, but i was even told by my guy at the store that this one just isn't very powerful and will probably act up if i use it in lawn care. The speed feed head is a game changer guys!

    • @cheaperthandirtvideos1

      I only use this one for quick line trimming. Its light duty for quick jobs and saves the body from using heavier trimmer. I've burned one out cutting tall, thick weeds too. For heavy duty use, I have the Echo SRM266. It's a very good trimmer, just heavier.

  • @tyik
    @tyik 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I found that this Trimmer head adapter size is 10mm x 1.25mm LHF, Diameter is 3-3/4 inch. You are swapping to a white color head and there are bags of screws. Will this extra screws allow fitting different brand trimmer? Say mine is a Kazz with M8 screw.
