It costs a little more to have a pre-spooled line, but when you're in the middle of a trimming job th-cam.com/users/postUgkx429xwEjNPnwzQohFrURRyKF51YfOD_Du , it is so nice to just pop out the old one and pop in a new one. Love Black & Decker tools. Especially the 20-volt battery operated ones. And, as usual, it came on time. Thanks Amazon!

Pieces went flying and i hopped online to try and find a replacement head because i figured the parts where gone. Decided to go look one more time before i ordered it and sure enough i found the pin. Thanks for saving me 30 bucks, it would have taken me a while to get it back together.

RJ Thank you so freaking much man. I am a new homeowner and got the echo as my first weed whacker. When the time came to replace the line I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to get the old strings out (even after looking at instructions lol). I loosened the 4 screws on the head and the claws, poles, and springs fell out on the floor. I tried putting it back together but couldn’t get the springs figured out. Once i figured out how easy it was to replace the damn strings I was so pissed at myself for touching the screws. Found your video and i was able to put it back together quite easily. Thank you so much man

THANK YOU for this informative video. My father is suffering from memory loss. I found him in the garage Saturday with all the screws out of the head, and all these little mechanical innards on the garage floor. We immediately figured we had to take this somewhere to have it fixed. But then I thought, someone else has to have done this too. THANK YOU! At least if he does this again, and he very well could, I will know I can reassemble the innards for him.

Thank you! Bless you! I am an older lady and my strings would not come out today and I made the mistake of taking the screws out of the head and immediately the little bolt and wire and gear fell off one side and then I wasn’t sure how the gear went after. I tried to put it back based on the other side and it looked good after screws back in (about 3 tries), but didn’t hold the string so I needed your help. I was able to do it after video w/o removing the head. But it was not too easy. These helpful videos like yours have allowed me to fix a lot of stuff! I learned my lesson to just loosen the screws next time ❤️👍🏻. Thanks much!

Your video helped me to understand why the string does not stay in place. (I had previously, long time ago, unscrewed the plate all the way to remove a stuck string). Now I realize all those parts, teeth, spring… must’ve fallen out… all are gone!
So I know now what parts are needed. If you have any tips on where to buy these, that’ll be great… I’m starting with Amazon. Thanks again for a helpful video, saving this one!
