This song has stcuk with me for over 30 years. I kept coming back to listen here over and over. I decided to learn piano and my progress goal was to be able to play this from memory. Thank you for your video. You helped inspire and motivate me to get where I am today. I can now play the song I love and bring that joy to others. I appreciate it.
This boot up music, the intro music and character creation music are 3 of my favorite pieces of music ever created and they bring back some great memories.
Once we had a vga card on that 286, it was the first time we saw vga game, 256 colors on pc, first time we had real music with a sound card, wow,... so much pleasure and amazement for the young teens we once were! (edit: typo)
I've heard other covers of this song, but this one is the best. Orchestral arrangements miss an essential point of the game. Your character is from Earth but is transported to a fantasy realm. And longs to return to it. That deep longing can only exist if you feel like you're alone. And only a solo instrument can convey that feeling.
