  • So my old transcription technically worked, as it produced the right sound, but it was kinda ugly to look at. One could say it was a parker transcription. Enjoy the new version.

    Hey guys! so the last version my most popular video (22 kiloviews!), and there are some things that need to be addressed.
    1) It's not playable!
    My main concern for my piano scores is not playability, but rather evoking the same emotions as the original piece. Playability is a nice bonus, but managing both at the same time is quite difficult and I'm not that skilled... yet.
    2) Isn't this the one Matt Parker used in his 5906 video?
    No, sorry. I was already working on this score when that came out, when I saw that video I knew if there was ever a time to release it it would be then. I suppose I was right!
    3) This is great!
    Thanks! My goal is to make music that people want to listen to, so if you enjoyed it I'm really happy! check out my other stuff as well, I recommend "Waterflame - Theme of skyworld"! ( • Waterflame - Theme of ... ) It's the one I'm most proud of and it's severely underperforming.
    4) This is terrible!
    I'm sorry to hear you think that, perhaps try my other works and see if you like them more! If you don't, that's fine, Music is quite subjective and what I do won't be for everybody. Even I don't like some of my older tracks. However, if you have feedback on what exactly I did wrong, I'd love to hear it - I'll get better one day, and maybe then you'll like it!
    4) Can I download it?
    Sure! There are plenty of youtuber rippers available, but if you'd like a high quality mp3 export, let me know; or make one yourself by downloading the sheet here: musescore.com/...

    i feel like most people will think that this is "bad" because "it's just piano", but you have to realise that doing something with just piano that is so similar to the original is really hard. Great job!

      But it is somehow bad or least you could have done it much better. For example do not write g-flat in a d-major chord. It should be a f-sharp there. And similarly at 2:05 you write f-flat. Are you sure, it shouldn’t be an e? Or from 1:05 onwards it gets very cumbersome to read the base staff. Maybe a notation with different voices would be advisable.

    Raawr I'm an angry internet music nerd. This version looks much better. You have the right key signature, but technically a lot the accidentals are backwards. I can't give a full explanation in a TH-cam comment but basically when you have a chord you should try to use letters that are evenly spaced. So in bar 32 D-Gb-A isn't great because G is right next to A in the musical alphabet. It's better to spell this chord as D-F#-A. Similarly, in bar 72 C-E-G is preferable to C-Fb-G since F is right next to G.
    Basically if you turn every Gb into F# and every Fb into E-natural it should all be perfect.

      @@Anklejbiter Is the piano keyboard that important? Or is it more important to tell how people to play the tune?

    • @Anklejbiter
      @Anklejbiter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@phillipsiebold8351 The keyboard is more important, as it adds to the visual aesthetic of the video whereas the only reason I even made a more "Grammatically Correct" version of the score was because I was getting a lot of hate in various communities. The score doesn't really matter as it's music, and when dealing with music it's the sound that matters. Half my songs aren't even playable to begin with

    • @hdbrot
      @hdbrot 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Anklejbiter Did you know that in Pythagoreian temperament, a g-flat is slightly lower than an f-sharp? Since in a tonal context both are leading tones to different notes. If you want it to be aesthetic, you should also take into account the aesthetics of the score, that is, the "grammar". And there you still have room for improvement. I am looking forward to your future works and transcription without those little hiccups :)

    • @Anklejbiter
      @Anklejbiter  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hdbrot Yeah, different tuning systems are cool. I do my best to keep every score the highest quality I can, and in my recent videos, that includes writing in the correct key, and uploading at 60fps. I'm also doing proper stacatto markings now, now that I know that's a thing lol
