God couldn't make that. That was just pure emotion, spit out all over that keyboard. I am not sure many people can experience what just happened there, in that room, her and her keyboard. Time just paused for her, as it was astonished.

      haha
im used to go to concerts if there is no pandemic times. i listened to medeski martin and wood, to aziza mustafah zadeh, to avishai cohen, i was able to hear E.S.T 15 years ago in Leverkusen, i have some stuff in my vita, listened to some stars, lots of local musician and if it comes to EXACTLY YOUR POINT: she is just miles above everything i ever heard. the expression was so intense ... holy shit. the best moment in my life, by far! not in classical music, not in jazz, not in anything. she is the pure emotion, the pure explosion, the unstoppable overwhelming queen on the keys. she might be an inconspicious person, but if she sits on a piano, she is the pure fire.
she became standing ovations from her very first piece to the end. it was her tour with voice, simon philips and anthony jackson, not even her old combo, which i like more (much better drummer).

@@everythingsawesome who do you think has more voice in jazz piano? Hiromi is no Paul McCartney in melody writing, and her fingers are sometimes faster than her harmonic invention (unlike the unequalled Art Tatum), but as its title suggests this is an interesting composition in several moods that Hiromi executes with her usual verve. I can't wait to see her perform live again.

Salve.
God bless you.....

This is what Bruce Lee philosophy sounds like when translated to piano playing. Mechanical yet human. She should be able to translate any idea that comes to her with those vast abilities of hand and mind coordination and control of the fingers.
