    I’m almost 65 years old and I’m not taking any HRT. My question is... is it to late to start taking hormonal replacement therapy? I’ve been diagnosed with osteoporosis and also I’m having trouble sleeping. I would much appreciate your input. I go to the military doctors and they rotate. I live in Las Vegas and I don’t know if there are any doctors that are familiar with bio identical hormones. Thank you so much.

    Dr. Taylor...thank you so much for the education!! I have just advised my doctor I want an increase in my estrogen as my last dexa scan was .2 percent lower than my previous one and I am now dx with ostopenia. I am still unclear how to determine if the bones are strong, Dexa scans just show quantity not quality, correct? Also, I am currently on a cream that pumps the correct dose. Is there a video on the different options of delivery, ie: cream, gel, pill, etc.?

  • @Shazi-xt5xw

    Thank you very informative. But to even begin to utilize these options you’d have to know what stage you’re in . And that is the real dilemma that even doctors are not all on the same page, even with the T scores. So for example if someone is diagnosed with osteopenia are they in the intervention stage or fixing stage? I,m assuming they’ve beyond the prevention stage.

    I keep wondering as I listen why the name Fosamax hasn’t come up. Isn’t that what most physicians would prescribe to rebuild bones, or are you referring to it by another name?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Laura,
      Fosamax is a brand name. I rarely mention any brand names. Fosamax is a bisphosphonate class of SERMS. If you look at the charts I've provided in these osteoporosis videos pertaining to non-hormonal medication options, you'll see Fosamax listed.
