Very excited to get a copy of this! It really looks like a modern classic. The design looks so smart. The storage immediately reminded me of castles of burgundy too.
Thanks for the review!! It was great fun to watch 😊 Which older game(s) would it then replace in a collection? Tzolkin? Thurn & Taxis? Castles of Burgundy? Others? All of those? I actually first thought that Tiletum was a Stefan Feld game. There are so many bits and pieces that are in his games like dices and limited storage capacity in CoB, mancala in Trajan, turnorder track and moving around like in Macao, etc.
The map could be lot prettier. The geme is great, It reminds me a Prague a bit. Faster setup and fast game (if not AP). They should give gold-wool-iron more distinctive colours. With bad light they kinda similar. And in my copy the quality of the dice is meh. If the dice wobble while laying on it's side it's not a good thing.
So Woodcraft spoke to Jen way more? Just the theme or she way preferred the gameplay? Considering both so would love to hear your/her comparison and contrast!
theme is a big part of it, but also neither of us are big fans of "travelling around a board doing stuff". i didn't mind it here because of the tight time constraints, but jen found it a bit less engaging for that reason. plus, she prefers a prettier board (the game is a bit plain looking)
I watch Rahdo to learn about the games I wont like. If Rhado loves it ill probably hate it and vice-versa. Rahdo doesnt like much player interaction or conflict of any kind and those are the types of games i like. Still fun to watch his play-throughs though.
yes i'd say so. it's a fairly multiplayer solitaire kind of game. at 2p you're more likely to get what you want in the various drafts and can get more done in general, for bigger and more satisfying turns :)
It's nice to see little, old Belgium keeps on inspiring people to create boardgames around our cities. :)
Finally one of my most anticipated titles is out! Can't wait to see the playthrough. Glad to know you liked it!

Pre-ordered, can't wait! Will probably replace COB for me.

This looks even better than Sabika to me. 🤩

i have that same thing happen when i watch a game that tom vasel really can't stand! that makes it rocket to the top of my list of things to try! :)
The game looks very interesting! Does it play well at 2 players?

Those pillars look like left overs from Tekhenu :D
Was gonna say!!!
they remind me of elysium, which makes me sad because we still haven't gotten the expansion which was completely designed and playtested years ago!!!!
oh woow, that is a shame. let's hope they release that one soon! @@rahdo
Gizmos is a good example of limited storage capacity and getting stuck with stuff in your storage that you can't do anything with.

Pre-ordered this one after seeing it at gencon! Thank you for making me justified in the purchase and upping excitement level!
I am on Jen side I like good euros but this kind of art is 10 years old now unfortunately.
Look at sabika 😀 it's like 20 years old
Jen didn´t like Tiletum? Time to get divorced, Rahdo... 😉
