On June 28, 2024, under the supervision of the Commissioner of Railway Safety, Indian Railways conducted a speed trial of MEMU trains on the newly constructed 46-kilometer rail route from Sangaldan to Reasi, part of the crucial 111-kilometer Katra-Banihal line. This route traverses high Himalayan mountains and valleys, featuring the world's highest railway arch bridge, the Chenab Railway Bridge.
