Hi, Rich. lol sorry longwinded.. I've been doing quite a bit of stuff. Last time I commented. I had mentioned I was going to try that bioness leg fes thing, but that was horrible. I returned that right away before they charged me 1,000,000 bucks made my gait worse. I don't suggest it to anybody and in fact it was a bad company. Horrible customer service, but anyway. Live and learn. So then I was doing some lunge walking, which strengthened my ankle. I don't use the brace anymore and it helped a lot. I still could. Use some more strengthening of the ankle, but it's much, much better. I can walk around the yard, of course, with the cane so far still. And my ankle seems to be better, so I'm hoping I'll be able to mow like that. Recently started doing lokomat. Very expensive. This is a gait training treadmill and I must say it's kind of bittersweet because you can see yourself as you're walking like you were before the stroke. the robotic device makes the lower part of your leg, your whole body walk, completely normal. And it can have varying ranges of assistance. She'll start it off at 100% and then she'll wean it down to, say, 50%. And uh. It's very strange to see yourself walking and and very strange to feel. You're walking completely like you're normal, like before perfectly like before the stroke. And fairly fast walking like I used to walk very fast. But the sad thing is, of course, when they take the thing off, you're kind of back to where you were. I've only been doing it for two weeks now. I don't know how long I can do it. It's a long drive. I drive 2 hours. I drive an hour there and back to Sacramento for the next 4 to 8 weeks. The other thing is, my physical therapist has been discouraging me every time I bring up the topic of getting a treadmill. And saying, ohh, you're gonna reinforce the bad gate, blah blah. I don't see how it could hurt because I need to strengthen my hamstrings. And glutes and reinforce a good walk.I think I'm gonna go ahead and get a treadmill anyway. the new stuff I'm doing Is handwriting and also cutting meat . I use dynamic tape around my fingers. When I do the knife and fork. And I'm left-handed so. That was my dominant side of that wiped out. So I've been doing handwriting. I realized how important that really was to me. And so I'm gonna really push that one and do 2 hours a day in addition to 6-7 hours other stuff. That's the thing, like driving really takes out time. Anyway, thank you very much for doing your videos. It's really important, I'm sure, to a lot of us. And we have to just keep going and work hard like you said.
Hi glad to hear you are trying new things i have tried many things as well like certain pills & meds to doing other things what it takes is just put in hrs of work and doing things over and over but thats what it takes some days i. Feel like i am making great progress and some days? But just got to keep pushing foward and never give up take care
@@strokerecoveryworkouts GOD willing better than yesterday I'm doing the cane excercise. Joined panet fitness also. Not going today . it's raining. I'm gonna try to do the breathing excercise too. Stay well my brother Rich🙏🙏
Today's video was solid bro. I've seen Tara do those arm stretches with the cane, but she always had her hand strapped to it. Watching your video, I notice you do it w/o a strap, so I pulled my cane out the closet and did it the way you do and BLAM! Shit worked. I'm adding it to today's routine, right after I do wall scrub. Solid.
Hi ya when i 1st had my stroke i was in the hospital for 2 months i was in bad shape had to do speech therapy as well as a lot of jaw exercises to prevent droopy face but happy i am where i am. in life alive and a want to live how are you doing when was your stroke and what side were you affected and how long ago was yours and where are you now with your recovery

@@strokerecoveryworkouts My stroke was 9 years ago. I discovered nitric oxide A year and a half ago , When I started in January L could barely walk up a short hill by March I was doing 3 mile trails. I take many nitric oxide precursors so my body make nitric oxide through the day such as magnesium citrate, pine tree bark , cayenne pepper, black ginger, ginger. In June I will take 40 sessions of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to further heal my brain
