    I have the same year and model and also have had the relay issue. I thought at first it was the solenode for the starter. I replaced that and still had the same issue. started tapping around by the relays and it would start up. Worked good till this summer then started doing it again. so I took out the relay and looked at the number of it. there is two starter relays in that box. I think my issue is with the aux starter relay #1. it came out real hard where the other relays came out pretty normal. all the other relays look to have the same model number so all the same relays. So I took out the high beam relay and put it in aux starter #1 and put the aux starter #1 relay in the high beam one (just switched them). everything is working fine and no starter issues so far and the high beam works, I am planning on getting some extra relays to put in the glove box just in case. But I also read that some people had problems with that relay box. maybe loose connection under the box itself. Or cold solder joint that broke? I will check that out next time if I have the issue again. But at least we seem to all agree the issue is in that area so should be an easy fix.
    I also have the same windshield as you too (go figure lol). We leave the top half on and take off the lower half. the air flows right in and keeps you cool. Give that a try. I see yours in the video was opposite.

    We have one and it had the same non starting issue. After our dealer couldn’t fix it we tried another dealer and he told us it’s a common issue that is an earthing issue on the relay. Issue fixed now.

      What did they do to permanently fix it? Just replace the relay?

  • @brandoncass9689
    @brandoncass9689 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    very simple fix for the relay. The relay is getting stuck and by tapping it you are making it free. Every time you turn the key two connections touch sending power to the starter inside the relay (completing the circuit). Its a bad relay just replace the relay because one day it wont break loose. I would recommend removing the relay and taking it to an auto parts store. it will be much cheaper that the dealership!

      yes, thank you! i have already researched the new relay and i will be replacing it in the spring for approx $30

    Check your intake tube on the back of the air box. Mine was crushing flat and starving for air. I stuck a piece of scrap pvc in the rubber tube and now it breathes properly.

      Thanks for watching! I don’t think it will fit on a 5x8. I’ve got it on a 5.5x10, and I’ve got a couple inches on each side, BUT, only about 6” front to back with the ramp up. So, I don’t think 5x8 will work.
