Chelsea, I tried Nailboo's base and activator liquids, too. I have had super bad issues with the top coat. After I use it on one hand the brush clumps up, I even had them send me a new top coat and it did the same thing… it’s the “new” revamped one… also why didn’t you start with the base builder?

Super new to dipping my nails, but im really hoping to get good at it! I've tried nailboo twice. First time the nails cracked the next day. Second time they lifted from my nail about 5 days after. Not sure what I'm doing wrong! They took forever and look okay.
Ok another question… sorry 😆 I’m newer to dipping, your tutorials have saved me!! Thank you thank you! Is the the build dip powder a necessary step? Can it be skipped?
No worries at all love 🫶🏻 so in my opinion, build powder (clear) on top of glitters shouldn’t be skipped. If you try to file/buff on glitter/shimmer dip powders then it will take off the color and turn the glitters silver. Could you skip clear on top of solids… the answer would be sometimes! Sometimes it doesn’t affect the color when you shape and other times it will be cloudy and remove color. Darker colors, neons and pastels are notorious for clouding if you don’t use clear. I’ve been burned one too many times by skipping clear on a solid color and it being ruined after buffing. So now I do it just to save on heartache 😆 please let me know if that helps or if I missed anything 🫶🏻
You mentioned you put down some sort of base product so you wouldn’t have to soak your nails and acetone. Does it not last as long and what product did you use for that?
This was the first dip nail diy kit I got. I loved them. The only issue I have is that I can’t seem to get them to last 2-3 weeks like they advertise. The only way I can get them to last is to use gel top coat. Same for any brand. I love your tutorials and have purchased a lot of the brands you have recommended. Thank you for your candor but I am a huge nailboo fan lol. I have all of their dip colors. I did not and will not do the gels or the polish. Just cause I have so much now lol. I do have their press ons and their tips love them all. Great quality in my opinion
I totally agree about the quality! I can see why you enjoy them!! What’s going on with your dip top coat? Is it cracking? Let’s see if we can figure this out! 💕💕
Chipping and lifting. But when I use gel top coat it won’t do that I can get a week to 2 weeks with the gel top coat but not with just the regular top coat. Doesn’t matter the brand either.
I love the look and result that you were able to achieve. I'm also right handed, and my left hand work is less than stellar. How did the results look for your other hand?
I typically just film and do my manicures on my left hand to cut down on time. But I do have a video on tips + tricks for doing your dominant hand 🫶🏻 th-cam.com/video/FS_m2czbStQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=huCP0kH5F0ijJgMK
I love this kit! I used the build powder 1st b4 the color which is the order provided in the instructions. I grew up doing my own nails but stopped when I got my bridal pics...32 yrs later I'm starting2do my own again & doing my Mom's since she can't go2a salon because of her asthma. Wish I knew about it during COVID!
A little late to the Nailboo party. When you say that Flex and Chill has a shimmer, do you mean glitter? I can't find the site that mentions which Nailboo powders have shimmer/glitter. Really appreciate your honest reviews and comments.
It’s personal preference and varies for each person on how much strength (layers) they need 💕 so someone with long nails, hard on their hands, prone to cracking + chipping would probably want to build up an apex UNDER the color first with the clear. I try to keep it straightforward and quick for the sake of content/time and just like to encapsulate the colors to protect them when filing and shaping 🥰 but there’s no wrong answer! Whatever works best for your nail length and lifestyle is best 🙌🏼
I noticed in their instructions they tell users to wash hands between activators, just as many salons do. I wasn't using Nailboo, but have done that on occasion and top coats don't seal well if there is any moisture in the nails.
Good to know. I did on my first time using them but again watching your tutorials I have learned a lot and also aloft aloft is another one that goes into great detail about the dos and donts. So thank you again.
Fantastic video!!! Could I buy the nailboo kit then buy half ounce revel powder in the future and use the liquid from nailboo brand on revel products? Soz if this is a silly question x
I love the glitter and the finished gleaming shine. I'm curious as to the use of 2 layers of top coat. I thought I read one layer, so did one layer. I had a ruff time getting this material off-NO soaking for me. I use French Tips and cut them down a lot. So in the process of my first removal, have lost my natural nail tip underneath. I will try growing my nails out agan under the tips and soaking with acetone next time. This is my first time with any of the powders, and I did use clear and white for my French tips with NailBoo.
Ohhhh wow that’s interesting on the top coat! I just went to their site and you’re right 🤯 the site only says 1 coat. As you can see my muscle memory took over 😆 I have only seen a top coat allow for 1 layer, 1 other time and that was for an odorless top coat. But thank you for bringing that to my attention! Here’s a link to my soak off routine too if you decide to 🫶🏻 it leaves your nails + skin hydrated and only takes a few minutes th-cam.com/video/shbTA_S-7bY/w-d-xo.html
I too was intimidated by the price so I waited. Then I walked into my local Sally’s beauty supply and there it was ! A less expensive small starter kit. At first, I didn’t follow all the steps so it would peel off easily. And finally I started to take my time and do each step carefully and slowly and it worked out really great. It stays on for a long time and I love all the colors at Sally’s now stocks.
Clear is meant for encapsulating glitter, it will usually look murky on top of a solid color. Better to start with clear to prevent staining your nails.
Dip powder is meant to last several weeks 💕 you can add an apex and more layers as needed for more strength depending on your nail length, shape and lifestyle. Here’s a quick tutorial on how I remove it in less than 10 min 🫶🏻 th-cam.com/video/shbTA_S-7bY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7kN5ir-Uvb_9yely
Absolutely! So the shiny layer is peel base. Peel base let’s me “pop” off the dip powder within 1-3 days to keep up with filming. I wouldn’t suggest that product though if you want your manicures to last. Here’s my removal vid! 🫶🏻 th-cam.com/video/shbTA_S-7bY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nRv5nIvBoTv0ziFh
Thank you for the review! I wanted to order Nailboo kit, but then saw your review of Azure Beauty kits and thought to start with them. How does it compare to nailboo? Does nailboo include liquids to remove it? Thank you 🥰
I love my kit. No issues with shimmer. The colors are quite lovely. Honestly no complaints. As long as nails are prepped properly I have zero issues. I don’t get the complaints. I keep wondering if they are talking about Nailboo or something else. I have the revamped kit. Not the old.
Nailboo was the first kit I ordered as an introduction to dip nails. That was about 2.5 years ago. I hated their liquids. While they may have improved since then, I'll never find out because I'm never purchasing from them again. There are so many great products out there, I have no reason to go back.
Dip powder liquids are air dry only so unfortunately a gel lamp won’t change the liquids. However, if you wanted to use gel base or gel top coat with the dip powder then you could use a lamp! The build powder will vary for each person. If they need extra strength due to their nail length, shape or lifestyle, then they’d want to build an apex. I add clear on top off all of my color and glitters though!
How was the longevity? I’ve only used nail boo dip but I experienced quick fry time with the base so I have been using a different base. I don’t know if I haven’t perfected my technique but I wonder if other brands would produce longer results.
I wear peel base so that I can keep up with filming so my sets pop off in around 1-3 days. I find for longevity that it usually comes down to prep and having enough strength (layers). So if there is lifting, then that’s usually due to prep. But if there is cracking/chipping then that can be corrected by adding more layers or building up an apex. Hope this helps 🫶🏻
I have a question I have the kit I'm confused at what point do you buff your nails to get the smooth feel and high bumps is it right after you apply harder or after you dip in color
Hiii! 🫶🏻 we file/buff the nail smooth after applying the activator. So once you’re done dipping, apply the activator and wait 2 min for it to harden. Then file/buff. Then activator again and wait 2 min. Then top coat twice 💖
Yay! Can’t wait to hear what you think! I personally use peel base which allows me to pop the dip powder off within 1-3 days. But for longer wear I would definitely suggest using a dehydrator, pushing back your cuticles, and prepping your nails 🥰
I have the $95 kit. I’ve just tried it once…I have issues and questions! I used the base coat and then the clear powder. Wow, I had a mess! I had big lumps that wouldn’t go away!! I proceeded, and when I got to the activator, it was not a full bottle (which they are sending me a new one. All else went fine but I have lumpy, bumpy nails 😢. I’m leaving it on to see how long it’ll last. Question: why use the white powder at all?
Hey there! 🫶🏻 sorry to hear you had some trouble! So you did a layer of clear for the first dip? That is optional (in my opinion). The first layer of clear can be for several reasons. Some I’ve heard do this because they’re worried about staining. In 5+ years of dipping, I’ve only had 2 colors slightly stain my nails. That was a poor quality black and jelly orange. I personally like to use clear to build up an apex. So if you need more strength (experience cracking and chipping or have long nails) then an apex is a great solution. If you have flat nails you may also want an apex. Most of the time, for times sake, I usually do 2 dips of color and 1 dip of clear. But in the video I shared today, I did do 1 small strip of clear down the center of my nail so they aren’t too flat with this length/shape. I do have a video that goes more into depth on how to not have lumpy or thick nails if you want to check it out 🫶🏻 I would suggest trying the pour over method as well. It can help with it not being bulky. Please let me know if I understood your question or if I can help 🥰 th-cam.com/video/C7lgPwn5NMI/w-d-xo.html
For a fill, I would suggest filing down the top coat and checking for any lifting. It’s totally up to you on if you’d rather soak off or do fills. When doing a fill I would suggest planning your manis to be lighter and go darker and darker for each fill. Or even just doing the exact same color for the fill. After you file off the top coat then you would prep as normal. So push back cuticles, prep the exposed natural nail plate, and all of those steps. I hope this helps 🫶🏻💕
Ohhh that’s a tricky one 🙈😆 I love so many for different reasons and designs. Currently I have been gravitating to my revel liquids and Color my world’s odorless liquids. It comes down to so much personal preference too. Depending on if you like thin or thick, slow drying or faster drying, etc. When I first started I enjoyed thinner liquids and slow dry time. It works great for designs like ombré and French. But over time as I got more comfortable I’ve been enjoying faster drying liquids. It definitely takes trying out a few brands and types to see what you like 🥰
@@SipAndDip Thank you for answering. That makes sense they different brand have different qualities that makes them better or worse depending on the users preferences and ability.

Me too! I love having at least one accent nail and frequently mix my main color powder with a glitter and always have a little extra I hate tossing out.
I'm waiting on nail boo, but revel is no good 😕 they took forever for shipping 😩, then they delivered to the wrong place and blamed me when my screen shot was my address after filling order. Lady wanted me to file a police report for theft saying they did deliver here but I was home waiting and Noone ever came. I explained I wouldn't be going to the cops for something that was never delivered she said she wouldn't be sending me another without it I told her to refund my money and she said she would just resend. Which she did after being asked not to. When I finally got it it was crap. I've used other dip systems and didn't have any issues with bunching powder etc but I did with revel. I'd apply and when I dipped it would be chunky and I didn't put too much of the gel etc nomatter what I did they chucked. Now I've used the powders since with other liquids and it was okay not the best

Beautiful mani!!! My bff bought a nailboo kit. Now I’ll have to borrow her liquids!! Thanks for the review!!!
THANK YOU! I’ve tried this using the Nailboo instructions and it turned out horrific! After your tutorial, I was able to get presentable nails! 👍🏽
Ahhhh oh no! That must have been so frustrating 😩 I’m so glad you’re here and found it helpful! 🫶🏻💕
I have had super bad issues with the top coat. After I use it on one hand the brush clumps up, I even had them send me a new top coat and it did the same thing… it’s the “new” revamped one… also why didn’t you start with the base builder?
I bought a nailboo kit on sale at Sallys for $18 two weeks ago to try them out. Yes, the liquids are amazing 👏
Whatttt! That’s epicccc!! Full set of liquids with it?! How many powders? So many of y’all keep mentioning Sally’s ! 🙌🏼🥳
Please share where is Sally’s?
I wonder how you were able to do your right hand.
I got tired and out of breath. So many steps. Too much work. And I don’t know how we would be able to do the right hand nails.
@@rayashanazarian781 Sally’s Beauty is a beauty supply store. They have locations all over. I would try googling their store locations to see if you have one nearby 🥰
Super new to dipping my nails, but im really hoping to get good at it! I've tried nailboo twice. First time the nails cracked the next day. Second time they lifted from my nail about 5 days after. Not sure what I'm doing wrong! They took forever and look okay.
Just done with my nails using this product and this video as tutorial 🎉❤
Love the results ❤❤❤
@@SipAndDip that’s great! Exactly what I was wondering! Thank you so much!!!
So glad you tried out Nailboo and had a good experience. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I love using my Nail Boo. I have mastered on doing my nails and my nails look professionally done. I am a Nail Boo fan.
Yayyy! That’s awesome!! 🫶🏻💖
Does the product weaken the nails like gel does?
Your nail turned out beautifully! Thanks for the toothpick tip!! Excellent video. Tfs!!
Thank you so much !! 🥰🫶🏻
I have a question 🤔 what do you use to remove the product ? Regular acetone? Thanks 👍🏼
How long did it take to do one hand? How long did it last before starting to fall off? How hard was it doing your non-dominant hand?
You mentioned you put down some sort of base product so you wouldn’t have to soak your nails and acetone. Does it not last as long and what product did you use for that?
nice color I have a question. Is this topcoat flexible? It’s not gonna crack thank you for sharing.
@@aubriepresby3648 oh wow! That’s great though that you didn’t give up and gave gel top coat a try!!

Lolll right?! I keep seeing brittney Aldean (prob misspelled name) ads now too 🤣
I love the look and result that you were able to achieve. I'm also right handed, and my left hand work is less than stellar. How did the results look for your other hand?

What is peel base?
Hi can you tell me what product you put on your nails prior to dipping products that you mentioned makes it easier for the removal?
I never heard of Nailboo before thank you for the detailed review
Thank you. I've just ordered mine and thanks to your review, I'm really looking forward to receiving it.
Can’t wait to hear what you think! Happy dipping! 🫶🏻
Yep exactly! I did find that they had a very fine glitter in them. I did not see it mentioned anywhere either 🫶🏻
I'm glad you put this video up. I'm waiting for my kit.
Can’t wait to see what you think! 🫶🏻
Great video. You make it look so easy. Is there a reason why you did the build step last and not first?
PREACH! 🙌🏼 this is definitely something that I do not do for this exact reason!
Yayyy!! So happy you stumbled upon it locally! That’s awesome!! 🙌🏼
Love the review sweet lady! Thank you! ALSO, thank you for sharing your new YT videos on your IG stories so I don’t miss a thing!
🥰💕 thanks for the love and coming to hang with me!! I hope your weekend is as fab as YOU!
Clear is meant for encapsulating glitter, it will usually look murky on top of a solid color. Better to start with clear to prevent staining your nails.
Great review. Thanks. How durable is the manicure and how do you remove it?
Dip powder is meant to last several weeks 💕 you can add an apex and more layers as needed for more strength depending on your nail length, shape and lifestyle. Here’s a quick tutorial on how I remove it in less than 10 min 🫶🏻 th-cam.com/video/shbTA_S-7bY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7kN5ir-Uvb_9yely

Beautiful colors. Thank you for sharing your opinion. I trust your opinion. The glitter is gorgeous. Thank you again.
Hey Kathy!! Thank you so much for always showing me love! I appreciate you! 🫶🏻💕
Do they feel hard and bulky after all the coats? How many coats did you apply for the color to look like that?
I'm very impressed that you have the patience....this is still too time consuming for me to do......sorry nails
I love hearing your perspective! I’ll stick with my small businesses, I think!
Totally get it! Plus they usually offer smaller sizes 🙌🏼 small businesses have some truly unique colors/glitters too 🤩
Hello. Thank you. I use Nailboo and I have not had any issues yet. I heard you mentioned cuticle oil. May I ask what brand do you use?
I make my own , all you need is the application pens . You can get those on Amazon.
How do you get it off?? Can you explain the clear coat you had on your nails before you applied the nail boo. Thanks so much
Thank you 🥰
You can remove any dip powder with acetone and a water bath ☺️
I just ordered my kit today! Loved your video!
Can’t wait to hear what you think 🫶🏻
Can you link the peel off base you had on your nails ??
You make that look soooo easy....oh, a BEAUTIFUL wedding ring, by the way....
Thank you so much! 💖
I love my kit. No issues with shimmer. The colors are quite lovely. Honestly no complaints. As long as nails are prepped properly I have zero issues. I don’t get the complaints. I keep wondering if they are talking about Nailboo or something else. I have the revamped kit. Not the old.
How long did it take for you to do one hand completely?
Nailboo was the first kit I ordered as an introduction to dip nails. That was about 2.5 years ago. I hated their liquids. While they may have improved since then, I'll never find out because I'm never purchasing from them again. There are so many great products out there, I have no reason to go back.
I totally understand what you mean and I think sooo many others would agree! 🫶🏻💕
Great review! Gorgeous ring!
Thank you so much! 💕
What would your thoughts be on buying the Nailboo liquids and Revel .5 oz jars? Can mixing brands work?
You can totally do that! I mix and match all of the time 🫶🏻 I think that’s not a bad plan at all!
Can you use a nail lamp with nailboo? I am not patient so waiting 5 minutes will get on my nerves. Also, is the builder powder necessary?
Dip powder liquids are air dry only so unfortunately a gel lamp won’t change the liquids. However, if you wanted to use gel base or gel top coat with the dip powder then you could use a lamp! The build powder will vary for each person. If they need extra strength due to their nail length, shape or lifestyle, then they’d want to build an apex. I add clear on top off all of my color and glitters though!
Beautiful results, thanks for your honest review.
Thank you so much for coming to hang! 🫶🏻💕
When you wipe off the brushes, do you use any cleaners or just simply wipe them off?
Just wiping them off on a napkin or paper towel 🫶🏻 no cleaners
I'm just curious... Do you have to "file, shape & buff" or can you activate and to coat without that step?
I would suggest to still file, shape and buff because it may be bumpy and have a rough free edge. Even a small little touch up can help 🫶🏻
Really well done review. Thank you
I have seen Nailboo sold at Sally’s Beauty (here in WA at least). If anyone doesn’t want to go all in on a full kit they could do it in pieces. 🤷🏻♀️
Someone else mentioned that too! I’m so glad y’all let me know it’s sold in stores 🙌🏼 that would be great to be able to shop locally 💕
I’ll have to try again. 😮
How is it taking it off? Is it easy or like taking off acrylic?
I have a removal vid on how I do a soak off. Usually takes me less than 10 min 🥰
th-cam.com/video/shbTA_S-7bY/w-d-xo.html
I'm waiting for my nail boo kit this week. Did you apply ph dehydrator or primer before adding the base coat?
Yay! Can’t wait to hear what you think!
I personally use peel base which allows me to pop the dip powder off within 1-3 days. But for longer wear I would definitely suggest using a dehydrator, pushing back your cuticles, and prepping your nails 🥰
@@SipAndDip thank you so much. ❤️
Please let me know if I understood your question or if I can help 🥰
th-cam.com/video/C7lgPwn5NMI/w-d-xo.html
I like very much. I just wish I could remember the order of the liquids.
When you need a fill can you just use the powder for the top and dip again or do you need to take it all off and start from scratch?
For a fill, I would suggest filing down the top coat and checking for any lifting. It’s totally up to you on if you’d rather soak off or do fills. When doing a fill I would suggest planning your manis to be lighter and go darker and darker for each fill. Or even just doing the exact same color for the fill. After you file off the top coat then you would prep as normal. So push back cuticles, prep the exposed natural nail plate, and all of those steps. I hope this helps 🫶🏻💕
Thank you for your review because I was skeptical as well!
Who would have thought Paris could make us all so skeptical 🤨 🤣🤣🤣
@@SipAndDip 😂😂😂
I’m the beginning you mentioned the paper towel after each time the brush touches your nail…. Do you wipe it off after each nail?
Yep exactly! So when the base and top coat touches the nail, I wipe it off on a napkin, before returning it to the bottle to get more product 🫶🏻
sounds like you've tired a lot of dip powder brands? Which one do you think is the best quality, regardless of price?
I need help. 1. 2. 3. Looks like you did badecoat, build powder, activstor, 2 dips of color, brush off excess, activator again with no color, buff, wipe? , topcoat.

Hi Chels. Ready to watch 👀
Hey Tracy!! Happy FriYAY!!
I have this still sitting in the box and my nails are really short so I'm afraid to mess them up and get pissed about it...
LOL! I knew you'd hate that file. When I got my kit I was like WHAT IS THIS? I also find the removal clips to be useless.
That file was a hot mess 🤣 all wrinkled and warped lol! Ahhhh oh no on the clips!! I am not a clip gal but that’s good to know! Did the clips fall apart or what happened?!
@@SipAndDip I learned real quick I'm also not a clip gal. 😂 But it just really didn't work like they advertise so I use your tips for removal or just use peel base. 😅
Using it for the first time. I know I will have a trial and error for a bit but even though it’s pricey the saving over time will be extreme. I was spending $65 after tip to have someone else do them.
I love nailboo. My favorite!
They changed the bottles. They were junk before but I appreciate all the packaging being recyclable. I don't like when the website has some weird fake nail of the color. It is impossible for me to tell the shade. I am glad you liked the kit though. I wonder how they can afford Paris Hilton and does she even do her own nails. Your mani came out gorgeous though!!
Yesss exactlyyy!! Those website created swatch pics are impossible to gauge a feel for. I loved that they had them on hands! But even then, mine still was a big ole jar of shimmer 😆 can’t win ‘em all! Lol but for a 1 oz jar… I def want to love it lol
Good advice that you don't really need 1 oz jars. I have a huge collection because I prefer variety in smaller jars.
Yesss same!! Especially those .25 oz jars 🙌🏼 I love those ones!
How do remove the product for new manicure?🤷🏻♀️
Nailboo was my first experience with dip nails and I was very disappointed with the liquids. None of them were very good in my opinion. I have since bought less expensive kits that I'm much happier with.
But, don't other kits require a UV/LED lamp? I'm new at this.
@@mandijones4995 only if you are doing gel nails. There are other dip nail kits on Amazon that don't require a light.
