I do! Check out my community tab I did a before and after wash on it. You made the right choice sizing up. I did the same and they shrunk a lot but still fit me well.
@@JamesHerlihy nice, thanks for the reply pointing me in the right direction! although if mine are new they are probably sanforized, judging by your replies there? hmm we'll see we'll see.
Great video. Picked up my pair from Independence. I like cuffing these despite not being selvedge (wish they were though) because the contrast of the inner coloration and weft is very unique.
The shrinkage is real on these ! My pair went through one wash and unfortunately I can’t wear them anymore since they’re now skinny jeans basically.I’m having to sell but don’t know if I should get a new pair just because of the shrinkage
Great video man! Really interesting to hear your opinion on these. I picked up a pair of 1.2.3 Century Denim almost three years ago now, and honestly have not been very pleased. I do think the sashiko offers a very unique look to the pants, but I find THEM extremely uncomfortable. Most of this is due to the shorter rise, so when you are sitting down, it is a real ball crusher. Lastly, the fit isn't the most flattering. I like how you referenced 1940s fits where denim was more utilitarian, and less 'stylish'. I think Kapital really replicated that fit, rather than modernizing it for a 'stylish' customer. This results in me rarely reaching for them, even though I think they would look sick with more fades and character.
I feel that. I personally love the 123 although I don't own them. Yeah the wide leg isn't for everyone. Have you tried washing them. Maybe they will become more tapered fit
@@JamesHerlihy they are the least comfortable after washing. Honestly I don't recommend it. Fit stretches back to original after about ten wears so I would worry much about shrinkage
@@JamesHerlihy did you get any stretch in the waist with these? Just got my pair and they fit great, but I’m nervous with the shrink after wash. Wondering if they go back to their original size after a few wears. If you haven’t washed yet that’s fine, just curious if you noticed any stretch at all.
@@JamesHerlihy yea I believe you’re right. I’m more curious if you got any stretch from wear. Particularly in the waist. Thanks for getting back to me my man.
You couldn’t have posted this yesterday? I just bought them yesterday. Waiting on shipment now. Let me watch this. PS huge reason I bought them was because of your previous videos.
I used to be heavy into denim jeans around 2016 spending big bucks on brands like momotaro, Pure blue japan, iron heart ect but tbh nowadays I be wearing uniqlo pants/ selvedge and levis and I feel just as good and so does my wallet haha, esp with the current fashion death of skinny jeans and everyone wearing relaxed fit lately i havne't been wanting to commit money on jeans for the fit to go out of style in a few years but I have been eyeing the no 7 or no 9 trucker... this might convince me to buy it
Yes! I’m a massive fan of their bootcut denim styles. My favorite is the massive flare/bell bottom which they call the Okabellbo, but they also have a line of more subtler bootcut styles, like the rat flare, which is far less exaggerated. They haven’t stocked them on the web store in a while, which kinda sucks, cuz I need a replacement quite badly lol (I wear them like everyday so they’re super worn out), but I’m almost certain that they’ll come back soon. I’ve had mine for about a year and they are amazing. Best quality jeans I’ve ever had before, with a perfect shape, especially towards the waist. They’re nicely high waisted.
Such a nice review! I picked these up and sized them a little more up than I normally would--do you have any updates on shrinkage after washing them?

Thank you!! I completely agree
Didn’t know about the aggressive shrinkage on these so thanks for the heads up.
nice vid and great insight before purchasing!! quick question, what loafers are you wearing at 3:38 ?
They are oak street boot makers they were a limited edition from a few years ago

Good to know maybe a soak in cold water after I lose 10 pounds 😂
Century denim is made with sanforized fabric though. Not sure where you got your info regarding that.
From my understanding, the older pieces that have the different weave are un sanforized. Newer piece are sanforized

Just ordered a pair of these. What boots are you wearing at 4:16? Dope fit my man.
They are the Bottega lug boots

I can't tell from the video but the stitch already turning white even without washing?

I feel that for sure. I'm a big Levi's guy personally. For me I try to get more straight fit because skinny was never my thing but loose isn't ether.
Does kapital denim make a boot cut style fit?
I believe so! I think that call it a flair
