I completely share your sentiment on closed door romances. Maybe it has to do with the fact that many romances nowadays lean towards more smut and less romance, that I find it endearing when a romance book is more romance heavy, that I don't mind the lack of smut. Or just like you, I'm getting soft in my old age... or it could be both 😂
Well, my favorite small town romance series is a little older, but they are soooo good. It is the Colorado Mountain series by Kristen Ashley. You can read them as standalones, but I would read them together because the mains in each book are connected. You get everything, romance, murder, kidnapping, law enforcement corruption and much more. The audio narration is great, and they are kind of long but so worth it.
Love so many of these books! One I’d add is the Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morgenthaler, super cute small town quirky vibes and grumpy sunshine. It’s not mind blowing, necessarily, but it is super sweet and has become a total comfort read for me. I’ve reread it multiple times and I don’t reread much.
Only Love Can Hurt Like This by Paige Toon. Closed door but in a really likeable way! Has all those good things...main character development, great side characters, not overly dramatic plot twists...it’s good!
I thought I was going crazy when you said you were surprised you didn’t do this video before because I had sworn you had. I went back to look, 8 months ago you did small town romances with Gilmore Girls vibes. Great video too😂❤
I've read almost all of The Edens series and none of them have worked as well as I was hoping. Devney Perry has a formula that is VERY obvious sadly. I will say Juniper Hill is the best of the ones I've read though.
i have all of them on my tbr already 🫣 but it’s because i watch all of your videos and i actually started in the weeds yesterday! thank you for your recs 💕💕
I recommend Bright Like Wildfire by Juliette Cross! Sweet and SPICY small town romance. Prickly, teacher heroine; charming, flirty "he falls first" hero!
Small town romances can be a little hit or miss for me, depending on the townsfolk. Like I loved the people in town in the Lovelight Farm series, but I actually didn't care for the neighbors in When In Rome, hahaha
16:15 I loooove passionate kisses but I’m not a big fan of explicit sex scenes. However, there aren’t that many close door romances that I enjoy 😂 i have a lot of favorite romances that are open door (i just try not to pay attention to the steamy scenes lol). I might have to look into Sarah Adams and her books. I hope they’re for me! Love the video ❤
Part 2? Yes please.

I love that When in Rome made this list. I loved that book and didn’t feel like anything was lacking without the sex scenes.
I loved the whole Gold Rush Ranch series, but A Photo Finish is my favorite.
A Photo Finish is one of my all time favorite romances! Sooo good ❤
I totally agree with you on BK Borison! Love her ❤️

Was that a recommendations video though? Or more of just a themed reading video? 🤔 (I can't recall!)

I always recommend the Queen Cove series by Stephanie Archer
The Texas Rose Ranch series is small town! As well as the Well Met series. Oh, and pretty much any of Maisey Yates cowboy romance books haha
i have all of them on my tbr already 🫣 but it’s because i watch all of your videos and i actually started in the weeds yesterday! thank you for your recs 💕💕
