We probably all think we are paranoid sometimes and we really shouldn't. We should always listen to the little alarm bell, its your brain and senses doing what they are supposed to do. I think its great you reacted so early on. Good for you.
I'll say this Cat, what I enjoyed about this video (being somewhat experienced myself), was that not only do you enjoy the outdoors, hiking BUT you also have a healthy respect for nature & how a wonderfully lovely & enjoyable trip in the wild can very quickly turn into a harrowing & life-threatening experience, given a change in circumstances. I must say, I don't know you Cat, but I'm very thankful to Almighty God that you are safe & that you listened when you were alerted to the danger that was beginning to close in on you, thank you Lord Jesus Christ for keeping Cat safe. Well done Cat, & it's wonderful to not only see someone enjoy the outdoors as you do, but that you show the wild the respect it deserves regarding not only it's immense beauty but also given the extreme danger that can present itself, in certain situations. Take care Cat, I'm very thankful you were safe.
@@Philippians--vz1mi bless you for kind words they are very much appreciated. It is sad that in our modern world we do not listen to our instincts or pay mother nature the respect she deserves. I am very grateful to be safe and to live to tell the tale!
@@Wild.cat.adventures yes Cat 😀👍, when I saw you instantly evaluate the present danger, then when you very intelligently made the well timed call, & got out of there, I was quietly applauding & thinking 🤔 nice call Cat 😀👍you should have been a drummer with timing like that.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us, it's always good to be reminded of the dangers of being out on the moors, it's easy to become complacent, glad you are 'eagle eyed' and spotted the smoke in the distance; well done and you definitely did the right thing returning to your car - safety first 👍
Tbh I thought I was just being paranoid but once the thought was in my head I was going to enjoy it so decided to head back, I was amazed when I saw the fire!
Well done Cat great video, its still an adventure so don't beat yourself up about it, safety first and that just shows you that you are a sensible wild camper. You will get that tent up soon enough in a way better spot in peace. Steve 👍
Good that you followed your instinct and that you are safe. Lovely filming, especially the wind in your hair like a wild ponies mane as you stride along
Looked an amazing place you chose to visit and camp. However, I think I would of done the same as you. Great video and keep up the good work. Looks like amazing fun
Sorry to hear about you're wildfire experience Cat. If I was alone & felt unsafe I would have turned back as well. Always trust you're instinct which you did. The main thing is you are OK.
Also if anything did kick off up you don’t want anyone blaming you even though it wasn’t anything to do with you you did the right thing and keep you safe
Thank goodness your alright. It must have been so frightening for you. They should ban portable BBQ,s during the summer months. All fires are dangerous no matter how small or big. What i would have done is get out as fast as i could. Your the number one to think about no matter what. Planning now must take preference and letting someone you know where your going and how long you will be out for. It is a trying game and is so wonderful to do what your doing. I have to give up my adventures now health is not so good but i do wild cook outs from time to time,,,,,,,,,, Take care Cat bless you ,,,,,,,,, X,,,,,,,, Regards Mick,,,,,,, Chef-on-the-wild-side,,,,,, X
Oh what a shame, my legs where hurting just watching you walk all the way up there just to turn around and come back, never mind better safe than sorry. See you later.
You should have used your drone to get a better look of the area and then you would have a better idea of what to do. But you still did the right thing 👍🏼
Take a look at TA Outdoors (he has 2.4m subs), about 5 days ago, he abandoned a camp and called 999 due to a smouldering fire caused by disposable BBQ's. He filmed the fire service when they attended - interesting to hear what they say. Unfortunately, you're not alone in this experience ... safety has to be #1,
Better to be safe and follow your instinct. Even if they banned portable barbecues etc there will always be people who don't think of the dangers and take them anyway.
Good evening. Always trust you gut. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe and have fun.
Thanks yes Im glad I did, it could've been a very different type of video!

Any ideas why people are deliberately setting fires on the moorland?
@@Wild.cat.adventures its crazy some are kids fooling about some are controlled fires but mostly are fools such a shame for the wildlife
