I hate random battles. I love game modes like this because I love to brawl as well. The missions are fun for me too.

9/10 games in Zeppelin,mostly all BBs are passive. Anyone pushing got torpedo spammed, HE spammed by cruisers, or plane spam by Guden and CVs. That one game that ppl actually push was extremely fun
I agree on BBs being pussies, but if they utilized the plenty of cover available they can easily survive and be a deciding factor for the end push. Instead they sit back, snipe, and are generally clueless why we lose.
Its almost as if this is randoms mentality too
I had 4 defeats in a row in Airship escort mode and gave up. Too much idiots there who like to camp, and camping is not the way to win that game mode.

There's a reason I quit this game almost 4 years ago and never looked back.
Best ways to play Shlif: 1. Calculate when to push and when to use concealment. 2. Push in only certain situations like 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 1 if no dd around. 3. Dont push in crossfire. 4. Learn to use the main guns and concealment in times when you are not pushing. 5. Calculate damage control and use carefully. 6. Dont rely on torps except very close brawling. 7. Use secondaries from smokes, islands without main guns. 8. Learn how to use the ship without secondaries to maximize damage. 9.Time hydro when pushing and when around the islands. 10. Use the ship to push dd`s when needed its very effective. 11. Use the speed and concealment to push and disconnect (its one of the best styles).
airship escort in randoms was pretty cool to make randoms less boring and stale.
But the fact that we have the same maps in high tier and random queue picture for over 8 years makes me sceptical about Wargamings will to change much in randoms

This whole line is amazing when it comes to secondaries, there is a mission on the Yamamoto campaign that you need to do 100k damage with secondaries, i did half of that in one game with Zieten, didn't complete the mission because team went defeat speedrun
The Zieten is shockingly good. I was surprised at how strong and versatile it is. It's what I wish the Bismark would be. Definitely grabbing it again once I have some free credits.
Also gonna miss Airship Escort, so much so gonna cancel my premium time and log off till it or something else different, like asymmetrical battles, comes back online.
I got a horrible winrate in the Schlieffen, but it's still one of my favorite BB's to play. Fast, dynamic, stealthy, and unleashes hell on anything withint 12,5km.
Have you tried the Schröder build as a secondary ship with Lütjens? You should try it. Its like a mini Schlieffen!
Curious to see how much trade off you lose in DPS if going for a fire build and swapping out IFHE. Excellent video as always.

From a business standpoint i find it insane that wargaming wants their player base to not have fun.
By introducing fun game modes like AE and asymmetrical battles, and only having them for a couple weeks then removing them, i just find it fucking crazy.

In the mid tiers brawling is common for me. Tiers 6-7 are the most fun for random battles, way easier to push and force a brawl. Higher tier ships are so powerful they melt anyone pushing, lower tiers not so much. The lower main gun range of most mid tier ships means everything happens at closer ranges, making it easier to get close enough to brawl. Just watch out for the skilless apes that only want to ram.
I wish Sicilia secondary have good accuracy as Schlieffen.
i'm still waiting for WG to make a new russian BB with a kremlin hull and smolensk secondaries. like 10 quad turrets on each side.....
When it comes to secondaries and concealment, Schlieffen is definitely THE choice. BUT personally I prefer the Mecklenburg over the Schlieffen (or Preussen, G.K.)
Every time when I had a 1 vs. 1 against a Schlieffen, G.K. or Preussen, I win with the Mecklenburg (full secondaries).
1. Secondaries don't do much damage on the Meckle (also not on the G.K. and Preussen) but definitely more against the Schlieffen. Every time, when I compare the outgoing and incoming secondary damage against a Schlieffen in the table at the end, the damage is pretty much the same on both sides, despite the fact that the Schlieffen is much more accurate.
2. The Meckle is tankier, but not as tanky as the Preussen/G.K., but can defend itself way better against Air.
3. The main guns - and that is the point - are superior compared to the Schlieffen and to Preussen or G.K. in their accuracy, which gives the Meckle the upper hand in EVERY SINGLE brawl I had in my almost 700 games with it. Bow tanking with 8 accurate front guns is the key here.
Of course the Meckle has its flaws and they are well known and of course, I can not win all brawls, because usually you get outnumbered when you even try these days... but a Schlieffen dies way faster... so in comparison: My choice is the Meckle for Airship escort

Say, PQ, how good is Schlieffen in competitive gamemodes like CBs? I've always played ships like Montana, Yamato, or Colombo, I don't really touch things like my Preussen or GK cus they feel out of my style, but a Schlieffen seems to have some big strengths including concealment and hideous secondary DPM. I need some new choices and would like an opinion if you could.
Funny and refreshing to hear someone speak positively about airship (I enjoy it as well). In game it's pretty much non stop bitching about the mode.
Disgusting how that Conqu sat in their spawn the whole game, not contributing to his team at all and still got 4th place. Meanwhile the Ägir and Zieten that at least tried to push the airship got less points for playing the objective. Still kinda broken if you ask me.
Airship escort is nothing more special than domination - "smart players" who sit in the back of the map, and farm damage and kills still get rewarded the most. The only bonus you get is from winning - same bonus as standard battle. So i don't see what the fuss is with Airship escort - CV's, subs, HE spam, radars just make the game's design fundamentally static, just like World of tanks. Modes are irrelevant as far as rewards go.

I would love manual control of all weapon systems. In my opinion it is the one function this game is really lacking.
Would it be wise to redo luchens for the Schlieffen line, or keep him to get Hannover, and or Prussen?
I guess I've just had bad luck this week. I've been in one game after another where my team is completely passive, with surviving ships at the end of every battle, still far away from our airship.🤨
interesting how the penalty for a ship that is built for close combat is bad armor and hp. And ships like the Vermont which is built for sniping is high HP and decent armor (not the best example). So they are promoting a passive play style after all.
most escort games i ever had, the people dont understand this game modus. they still just stay behind and snipe, and mostly only my team does that, while the enemie pushes in hard and on the airship and win easy.
You can go 'dark', maybe you are not detected any more, but it's impossible to be un- anything... If you are un-dead then you are alive. If you are un-hungry then you are full...
Im p o 'ed, i reset the branch for research points and can't get interested in the Zeiten and the tier 7. Schlieffen is a great ship
I really like my Schlieffen ! Bring Airships Escort back to all game modes ! WG takes the best game mode out and buff subs. I still hate the over powered Subs ! LOL the last so called sub nerf was in reality a sub buff.

I wish airship escort was a permanent mode. I would like to see special builds for airship escort. Everyone getting secondaries for free. i wish the cyclone was in airship escort. mode idea: Ice storm: adds a debuff to your ship speed the longer its in the storm.

Why can't they make this a permanet alternate game mode? Randoms, ranked, airship, brawls, and other gamemodes. It would actually make this feel more like a game than a grief experiement.
Basically it comes down to player base. If they would have made these moves five years instead of doing the cv rework and sub development, when the player base was more healthy. They have slowly alienated players via game mechanics, wallet fishing and bad pr. That's why we don't have have new maps. It's not cost effective, when they can put out a new premium ship, early access etc
Why the F did they remove Airship, and its not even a patch week?
I did 778 secondary with my Hannover in one battle 😅 Guess with Schlieffen I could have done 1000 maybe.

GV has garbage accuracy compared to Schlief. Schlief also has better main guns. Schlief also can get paired with Gunther, which at that point is without a doubt king of the hill when it comes to secondaries.

I'll go full tin foil hat and speculate that War Gambling doesn't put this game mode in more because everyone will play it, and ignore randoms even more than normal. I'd like to see a video on player numbers especially on the NA server, but that might not go over well with the devs.

Auxillerry armaments mod one is useless u do not loose any secondarys so why protect them even more? And your torps do get shot out frequently so why not protect them?
And even in randoms the mainbattery reload mod is no Option bc the mainbattery is trash and rhe secondarys are godlike, if you want to play a sec ship with actual strong mainbattery go play ohio schlieffen isnt it.
Please tell the scumbag overlords at WG to keep the airship mode permanent and standalone. Its the only fun mode left. Pinata is fun but not as much as airship.
