Arrma Kraton 8s steering problem figured out new vs original models what’s different?

- After all my switching of parts and all said and done I believe the servo has had a change reviewing my first run of my original Kraton 8s the steering been this way since the beginning! And only after using the new version Kraton 8s I noticed a big difference appreciate the support and comments from everyone thanks
I had to show my friend this video he had same issues, problems with his Arrma 8s. Also he will subbin and also watch the similar issue and slop with Arrma exb 1/5 scale Outcast.. it’s crazy he just got the Truck And so much is wrong with steering and slop. Thanks again. It's just running at 8.4 volts as supposed to 6.0 volts. I changed the kraton v1 to 8.4 volts in the ESC settings and it acts just like the newer version. I had to hold the set button down, wait for it to beep, and then turn the ESC off for it to be applied though.
Mine is at 8.4 volts with a servox servo now 👍👍💯💯💯
Yup - tweaked to 8.4v out of the box on the V2. I set that on the V1 the day I got it and never looked back - the steering is too slow at the lower voltage.

Earl did arrma ever send you a new servo out an what was in the 3D spray can I use their wash an wax soap in my foam cannon an you don't have to touch it works great
I haven’t received a servo for it as I put a servox in it been difficult with horizon and an esc and servo and shock caps all sent in waiting on there determination on warranty as I’m not liked for what I show the product for plastics is insta shine sold in a spray can right now and I use there dry wash and quick detail spray 💯💯

I've been saying the same thing this Kraton v1.5 feels like the XMaxx 6S-8s all over again.
It really does I don’t like the secret fixes there doing it should be listed on there web site that there a change and a kit to repair it to bring the original one up to the same spec as the new version appreciate the comments for sure 💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

.... man you gotta read more before you demand free stuff from the vendors. Make everyone else who honestly has a problem look bad. Turn the bec voltage up It goes to 8.4 volts

That was the first modification I made to my Kraton 8s. I bashed it until the stock one broke in 42 minutes along with the servo saver because I hit a light pole and all the force was on the right front tire. I took it apart and I was pretty surprised. That is not an adequate servo for this truck at all. This is 1k dollar truck. Come on Arrma! So I Replaced it with a true 5th scale servo which of course required the larger 5th scale box. I put a Savox in and rebuilt the servo saver with new parts from Arrma but I also got some of M2C's parts and it made a tremendous difference. I really wish they would have stayed with the 6s steering design sized up to 8s..
Just bought outcast exb 8s slow and barely turns. Out the box. New servo fixes it or I have to change other things? Thanks in advance
Need to max out the BEC voltage to 7.4v or 8v in the esc
@@earlmoorhead5555 I did. Setting 10 2 beeps confirmed it. It’s just not turning all the way. 🤦♂️ but I’m still up 2am eastern time. It was fine for only 3 minutes. There’s gotta be another setting for steering radius I hope 🤷♂️
For a on road and off road truck would you spend your money on a RTR Kraton8s or RTR Xmaxx ?
Wow good way to test it. I would like to get the Kraton 8 but I'm on fixed income for life. SSD because I died for a short time in the hospital from diabetes but I'm super better now. I'm on no meds. My xmaxx is cool but a pain to work on. It took me a hour to get the front back on 2 days ago.

just get you a 1/5 servo & order to the 1/5 mountain & just run her that way
know my K8s is not Box stock I have a HW Max5 Leopard 1050kv motor & my Kkpit servo & a 33t pinion

you might need to go to a Max5 also one day the stock ESC struggles with 100c lipos & upping the pinion my ESC started shutting down to much amps for stock ESC it would go then stop & go & stop but max5 fixed that or a Castle XLX ESC

Just out of curiosity could it be a because of the different rx and tx like the dx2 is laggy or unresponsive. I have no clue just adding to the conversation. Btw there is a version 1.75 now because the newest models have 20 mil oil in the central differential.

"Made in China " We need to boycott crap from China. I bought the arma kraton gen 1, what a piece of junk, but I just had to get it. Now every thing is 8s. Yeah I did the same thing with the 6s X Maxx, just had to have it, then they came out with the 8s. And it could still be alot better if traxxas would have put a bigger, better esc & motor. That will be the x maxx gen 3 I'm guessing. P

Have you thought that maybe the steering speed might be related to the really slow delayed original radio handset and receiver. I've upgraded mine to a flysky noble and mine seems to have way quicker since.
Daniel Crick it’s not delaying on my radio it’s just really slow and the sound is weak it turns when I command it to it just won’t move very far or very fast 💯💯🔥🔥🔥but it’s a good idea 💯🔥🔥🔥
@@earlmoorhead5555 I totally agree IT SHOULDN'T be a cause, but if the receiver is handling the electrics from the esc to the servo and the steering limits are in the radio there is definitely a chance, especially as its a difference between the two versions of the kraton. But I have to admit that all through your videos I was thinking that 'it's just a duff servo, save your time Earl and just buy another!' hahhahha. I'm as interested as you are as I have a mk1 8s. Trying to order the upgrade parts at the moment.

its probably just the radio, i upgrade my kraton 6s stock radio to a spektrum DX5 pro . it made the kraton feel like a different truck. the DX5 pro have a 5.5 ms frame rate. the stock stx 2 had so much lag , and sometimes signal lost. also make sure the hub nuts aren't to tight on the steering block. i heard that if there too tight it will make your servo slow.

Its definetly the voltage then you can change the servo voltage in the esc settings

You can. Hange the voltage the esc is giving to the servo its in the programing where you have your punch settings brake power ect at least thats what they have shown in their video

Does that mean if I buy a new standard kraton servo and fit in my v1 kraton, it should work better than the factory installed servo? I did notice my outcast 8s has more turning power than my kraton 8s?

I recently got a kraton 8s and I wanted to change the servo for better response and speed what pinion and servo would you recommend for about 80-140.00 range
I used a 200.00 servox servo and the steering is still slow idk why mines that way my outcast stock is way better so I’m not sure 🤔
