Jason excellent video the modeling is superb and second to none and the locomotives control desk screen that are light up wow off the hook man!!!! kudos to all involved!!
Thanks Dave! I'm hoping that when we get our ops sessions going again, I'll be able to do a lot more operations oriented videos. Trying to operate trains in a realistic manner, while also trying to film them is ... well, not easy.
The detail on that SD70M is awesome. Great video Jason! I really liked the shot of the ACe working as DPU on the autorack, also that house looks to be in danger at 8:13. :P
cool , never seen a all white train before , and I am sure by the time it gets back to the yards , it will be a spray painters canvas ,, lol ,, great video , look forward to your dad's new toy
UP does run these all refer trains across the country hauling produce/perishables. They are some of UP's hottest trains on the system. I just haven't taken the time to weather and graffiti them up yet. All in time...
Thank you Spencer. It's a sweet unit. That old dirty ACe? :D Yeah, it's a little dirtier than what I prefer, but hey, they're like that in the real world, so it's all good.
nice model im a bit envious have you had a look at the oxford diecast american cars of the 50 s and sixtys bein imported over there they are the quality of mini metals but a lot cheaper we pay around four pounds so rough guess around $3 or so over there the size of your layouts might work out you save some money thanks for sharing mate
Thanks Keith. No, I haven't seen them. I don't model that time frame, so they wouldn't really fit with what I have. We have some club members who do model the 50s and 60s though, so I'll give them a heads up on them.
hi Jason... Shane did an awesome job on that loco... BTW did you know the your sub count is almost the same as the loco??? great run by's..... keeping my fingers crossed that we might see this layout in person in June... thanks for sharing.. vinny
Thank you Vinny. Yeah, Shane does great work. I knew it was in the upper 3900s but didn't know, nor think about it being close to my sub count. :D That would be awesome if you two can make it up here, we have to take you to our best railfaning locations too.
Nice layout You have plenty of rolling stock. I got out of hobby 13 yrs ago still have all in boxes. Have a question, dose you layout reflect your upbringing to a geographic region? I've noticed many hobbyist do and it seems steam era not big as diesel today including myself. Don't know if many ask, question rolling stock, why all at least most are white, did you scratch build them and haven't finished? Anyway nice locos and quantity reflects truism with plenty of mainline track and yard track look's impressive. Gona set mine up when i move and can't wait. Good Layout and Your Video-Good Job 🇺🇸
Thanks, and no, it doesn't. At least not my section of the layout, which is the yard at the beginning. Some of the club members do loosely base what they model on where they are most familiar with. It's pretty common. And the white cars are complete. They are the newest models of refrigerator cars out today.
Shane records his own sounds and puts them on his computer to use in these installs. No clue how he does it, I think he uses an audio recorder on his phone, then moves the files to his comp to be used on the decoders. He's really the one you need to be talking to this about.
Look for coupler issues, some may hang too low. Replace the coupler with a new one, or resort to a rising coupler or spacers for the trucks! Hope this helps!
Well, he didn't charge me much at all because a lot of this was experimental, and he's one of my best friends. You'd have to get a hold of him for prices. But, he knows his stuff and won't do you wrong.
Great video, my uncle use to have a huge layout in his basement. That is how I came to have an appreciation for Trains. But, what I was not aware of, which I saw in your video for the first time that there were Railroad Police. So I had to see if this was a real thing and it is. I found a site that is dedicated to Railroad Police, so I learned something new and was able to watch a great video as well. Thanks Railroad Police link, therailroadpolice.com/history.htm
Thanks. Yes, Railroad police have been around for a very long time. They pretty much have the same authority as regular cops do. They just patrol the railroad they work for. Glad you enjoyed and learned something! :D
haha... yeah, I just post and hope for the best man. If you're on Facebook, I always post these to my timeline, so anyone who's added me as a friend gets a notice when these are up. I have that linked in the description, have a look. Glad you like this stuff :D
Jason excellent video the modeling is superb and second to none and the locomotives control desk screen that are light up wow off the hook man!!!! kudos to all involved!!
Thanks Terry! Appreciate it, Shane did a super job on the dash lighting, really fun unit to operate.
Great layout, excellent trackwork and scenery. THANKS for no music, I like the layout sounds when watching.
Extremely nice layout, great video of how a layout should work. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Dave! I'm hoping that when we get our ops sessions going again, I'll be able to do a lot more operations oriented videos. Trying to operate trains in a realistic manner, while also trying to film them is ... well, not easy.
That is a sweet unit! I can see why it's become one of your favs.
The detail on that SD70M is awesome. Great video Jason! I really liked the shot of the ACe working as DPU on the autorack, also that house looks to be in danger at 8:13. :P
Thank you Dan. Those autorack trains can be tricky to run, having a DPU did help, and that house... yeah, it's been condemned. :D
The sound is incredible, very well done!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
I work with UPRR and I love your videos so realistic and my son loves to watch as well
Oh sweet, I'm glad you and your son enjoy these. Appreciate it!

+Railfan Jason They are classified as Z-trains, but they are limited to 50 MPH while loaded has to do with tonnage per axle.
3884 and 8365 are really cool good job
Wow! absolute amazing sound. love that ESU loksound
Thanks, appreciate it! It's a great decoder.

wow very nice
Thank you Randy.
Is there any way to change the default horn to your own custom horn on an HO scale locomotive?
+thebrakeman17
That's basically what Shane did to this one.
I meant like grab a horn and bell form your home computer and make that your sound
Shane records his own sounds and puts them on his computer to use in these installs. No clue how he does it, I think he uses an audio recorder on his phone, then moves the files to his comp to be used on the decoders. He's really the one you need to be talking to this about.
And that, kids, is why you run a DPU on autorack trains...LOL
This is cool
EPIC!
Thanks!
what state are you in? and city or town
I live in Iowa state and my town is on slow and it's
a small town!
can I have the one with flag in shed please
When i go up my hill one coupler is higher that another and they decouple!! Help!!!
Look for coupler issues, some may hang too low. Replace the coupler with a new one, or resort to a rising coupler or spacers for the trucks! Hope this helps!
+Jack Shaw im kinda good now. Me and my dad have been working on how steep the bridge goes up and weve done it
ToxicEnchanced Good! If the problem continues to occur, it is more than likely a coupler problem! Take care!
+Jack Shaw thank you for the information tho :)
amazing
Thank you.
how much did he charge you to do all of that bro
Well, he didn't charge me much at all because a lot of this was experimental, and he's one of my best friends. You'd have to get a hold of him for prices. But, he knows his stuff and won't do you wrong.
+Railfan Jason thanks how can I get in contact with him?
nice,,but how to make a train
👍
I'm sure your insurance premiums are going up.
Great
