Rust eater bisco is imo one of the best animes you can watch when you're just trying to enjoy a little worldbuilding and a true friendship in an anime, the plot development is high quality and isn't something that is a genre strict fold the relationship between milo and bisco develops in such a realistic manner, and how that friendship ends in sacrifice and rekindles in resurrection is literally insane, 10/10 in its class and a top 10 in my eyes
I agree with some, but disagree with a lot... The characters are decently developed and show signs of having the potential for depth, their dynamic is entertaining, the worldbuilding is consistent with itself but not that well developed... But the biggest issue is the plot is rushed as all hell. In the span of 2 episodes we: discover the cure, have the cure stolen, discover that there is an evil plan, discover what that plan is, discover where the plan takes place, discover how to stop the plan, get to where they need to go to stop the plan, discover that the big-bad is the reason for our heroes being hunted by society, confront the big-bad, beat the big-bad, and "lose" the MC... That _all_ happens in episodes *_9 and 10._* What would normally (in better paced shows) be left for it's own finale arc happens in about 30 minutes and only 9 episodes into the show. Rushed. As. Fuck. Being perfectly honest; if this was a "10" for you, then you haven't seen enough anime... It's a 6 at best.
@@Thescott16 tbh with the ridiculously fanservice-y garbage that's tossed out like bad meat for the wolves, I'd prolly rate this higher even if it is rushed to the max simply because its nice to have the focus on an actual story instead of cheap crap....even with that one girl's existence. Unless its amped up more in the anime itself. I suppose I'll find out eventually since this still looks like a decent show.

well yes but when you realize he did it to save her life it’s maybe a little bit better but still creepy also i can’t remember exactly but those worm’s i think are called balloon worm’s and it’s a thing used by slaver’s to ensure there slave’s won’t run away cause only they have the medication to keep it from hatching and they either force them to consume the eggs or do some surgery stuff or something to put the eggs inside them and without the medication they will hatch and continue to balloon out until it kills the slave

Very interesting, what a good anime. Although I do have a slight complaint. Supposedly that there's still going to be more seasons bc this just adapted the first volume of the light novel. I just didn't like how they "killed" him off, only to revive him. If this was a 1 season anime, I would've just liked it if they killed off Bisco, and that was that. But seeing as this is anime, ofc they'd want more, so I don't really blame them for that. The interesting world building definitely is the best of it.
One inaccuracy in this summary of this show: it's not an "exoskeleton". "Exo" means external. It would either be Endo or just skeleton. Although, endo would imply under even the skeleton itself.
I was both pleasantly surprised and disappointed with this show. The show has such a goofy and tropey pretense (being post apocalyptic, giant/flying versions of normal animals, and the MC basically uses "magic mushrooms" as a superpower) but the characters are decently developed and show signs of potentially having decent depth, and their dynamic is quite entertaining. The worldbuilding is consistent with itself, but not actually that well developed (imagine if Once Piece visited 3 or 4 islands and then stopped exploring, while having talked up the setting throughout the show and continued to talk up the setting throughout the show after but never actually _showed_ more)... But the biggest issue with this one is that the plot is _rushed as all hell._
That _all_ happens in episodes *_9 and 10._* What would normally (in better paced shows) be left for it's own finale arc happens in about 30 minutes of runtime, at only 9 episodes into the show. The show's only 12 episodes long and I feel like they should have and could have made it the first part of the story instead of the entire story. But this is where having a short runtime isn't _necessarily_ a bad thing... since you don't spend that long getting invested before being disappointed. All that being said, it's still an enjoyable one to watch that you don't feel like you entirely wasted your time with. But the worldbuilding and plot (especially the plot) really hold it back. I give it a 6/10
@@if7723 Then you adjust your production for that, that's literally a basic part of the production cycle... There are episodes that could have easily been cut due to their lack of impact on the plot or characters (like the episode with the kids: a lot of worldbuilding but it's practically filler from a plot standpoint). They prioritized worldbuilding, which is what you do when you're starting an adventure that has a very wide scope (look at season 1 of One Piece; not much overarching plot but a lot of worldbuilding). The creators of this show wrote the first 2/3rds of this season as though it was going to be a large-scale adventure taking place over several seasons, and ended up rushing the plot to a conclusion that feels unearned and almost out of place. They didn't properly account for the short runtime of the show. It's so bad, that it feels like they were told while late into production that they had to tie things up.
