Played for a little while and have met people in person from the game. I love how you can easily translate being in an online space to actual relationships forming. I went about finding a community as the first thing I did, and that led to me meeting people I reallllllly adore the company of. Quick guide from my experiences on how to make friends in VRChat: Walk up to someone and compliment their avatar. Then stand back a bit and let the person have their conversation, OR if they're alone, await their reply. If the leave an opening for you, you're in, you just gotta insert yourself into the conversation and that's that. Keep in mind that there's a difference between inserting and forcing yourself in. If an opening is not made for you to keep talking, then it wasn't meant to be, which is a dime a dozen on VRChat. If someone tells you to fuck off, you just abide and walk away. The thing about VRChat is that every negative experience is inconsequential when meeting new people. Sure, you may have found someone who's got similar interests, or who's avatar was really cool or something, but you're going to find dozens more of those, just server hop. You lose nothing from jumping to a new server and meeting MORE people. On the opposite side of the coin, you gain so much from positive experiences. Meeting someone new can help you improve your socializing skills, because let's be real, if you're struggling to make friends in VRChat, you're struggling IRL, and that's nothing to be ashamed of, making friends is hard as hell. But with that all said and done, I have a friend who I met back in January, and we've been pretty fucking good friends ever since, we've played things that aren't VRChat, we've gotten high together - which may not be your thing, but it's just an example - we've done a ton of different things. And all because I walked up to him and said "Your tail looks floofy as hell!" the one night when I was playing. It's small things like just complimenting someone's avatar that can lead to great things. Another thing to always keep in mind is that everything you do in general in VRChat helps you in terms of real life. You can get better at talking to people, which is the big one, you can train your teamworking skills, as dumb as it may sound, boot up Zombie Survival with a small group, and you'll most certainly get used to working with people, even if you don't like them for some reason or another.

So VR or not if you wanna be around people you can expect to eventually have both good and bad times. Personally I managed to get through my first 1000 hours without a scrap of trouble. I know no one asked, But the reason I love VR-Chat so much is we/I have a condition called DID, or Dissociative Identity Disorder. Though more commonly known as Multiple Personality Disorder. We love VR-Chat so much because we are able to actually see a body we identify with. Because it is genuinely weird to look back on old photos through a camera roll and just think "Thats not me." We don't live on it, and only 2 of us actually enjoy being on it, but we both have different Avi's, a system that can help people tell just by looking at us, and friends, who actually care for and understand us. Meanwhile in real life there is always some kind of stigma and we are looked down upon. We are also mute however, and stuck on quest. Mostly because no other Alter wants to spend that much on stuff they won't use, financial issues. And then the absolute nervousness and i guess dysphoria about our voices? Its weird to describe but yeah- VRC is more like a tool for us to live a more comfortable life. Sorry for the massive rant, if you actually read this, I genuinely hope you have an amazing day and I would love to chat with new people! So just ask!

I know no one asked, But the reason I love VR-Chat so much is we/I have a condition called DID, or Dissociative Identity Disorder. Though more commonly known as Multiple Personality Disorder.
We love VR-Chat so much because we are able to actually see a body we identify with. Because it is genuinely weird to look back on old photos through a camera roll and just think "Thats not me."
We don't live on it, and only 2 of us actually enjoy being on it, but we both have different Avi's, a system that can help people tell just by looking at us, and friends, who actually care for and understand us.
So just ask!
y'all have an awesome day too!
would you cover how to navigate the menu on desktop, I haven't gotten around to picking up a headset and I always have a really hard time navigating the menu's
I don't think there's any difference between desktop and vr, but what exactly do you have trouble with?
@Derafog you actually covered what I was having issues with I just forgot to delete this comment lmao
I wish I had a proper pc because playing on quest is ROUGH. It sucks not being able to see some of the cooler avatars and worlds, it really feels like youre missing out.
hello, i have a problem with my unity, when i'm installing any version of unity, it will download infinitly, and at end it will never download, if someone can, please help me😅🙏
Is the avatar that is shown at 8:51 purchasable? If yes who's the creator and what's the name of the avatar? thank you!
It's Sonya by Chuddie
I dunno why I am watching this, I have over 8000 hours and I am watching a 'how to play vrchat' video.
hey some of my friends learned some stuff...
apparently double clicking the gear to open the setting menu isn't well known
@@Derafog Double clicking the sound button turns on earmuff mode, double clicking the camera icon whips out the camera.
Lotta things I found out from poking around the game after the new UI drop a while ago.
How am I only finding you out now, my Guy? Thanked my girlfriend for sending me your link.
1:56 this scene just feels... wrong, disrespectful.
are we going to mention that he went to a cemetery to make a vrchat video?
19:31 my fwendssss
Why comfort turning isnt appearing in pcquest?
Alright so i had a "used" laptop that was handed to me by my mom and given as a gift by a person my mom knows and I played vr chat b4, and at first i didn't know what was going on and I went for the "unofficial" side which is the vrchat on where you first see when you can choose either vrchat or steam. I really added some friends and had saved avatars on that laptop but after a few yrs I accidentally pressed the "shutdown" button and i couldn't get it back on. So my dad decided to have me hand the laptop to him and he still has it, but anyways my question is that if i can get the "vrchat" aka "unofficial" account back? Or i will have to make the laptop work even though i believe i have to get it fixed somehow.
@@Sparten-177 if it's a steam account, you can just log in through steam. As long as you still have your steam account.
@@Derafog so ig the "vrchat" can't be restored or fixed, dang. Welp at least i already have a steam account.
Lol I play VRC very often but I didn't even know about the streaming camera. My PC's about to bleed storage with even more pretty 4K screenshots hehehe 😈😈😈
How to i pick up the menu after i expand it?
Hey I know this comment is late but does anyone know what world that Motorbike at the very end is !?
HEY! I have had Trusted status for years and I have a life I swear. I do stare into a mirror a lot though 🤔
