Hi! Growing pine seedlings is a difficult process. First of all, the seeds are to be moisturized in water for 2 days, and some biofungicide is to be added into the water (bacilus subtilis or any strain of trichoderma fungus, they fight with pathogenic bacteria and fungi), after that the seeds are to be stratified, i.e. kept in a fridge for 2-3 months in wet sand. Before planting the seeds, the soil is to be mixed with river sand or vermiculite in order to avoid any disease and keep moisture and oxigen within the substrate. Your seedlings withered because of the so-called black root disease caused by pathogenic fungus. It is a scourge of most seeds at this stage, not only pines. While growing any plants from seeds, biofungicdes like bacilus subtilis and trichoderma are your best friends. I love South Korea. Best luck!
I had once sourced pine seeds from China, however the seeds were of poor quality and none of them sprouted. Wish I could get some nice seeds from Korea. 🙏🏼😊
Hello, this is Algae. It is sad that the seeds you bought from China didn't germinate :( Unfortunately I cannot send you seeds. I have not obtained a license from the Korean government to sell the seeds. And I do not send Korean seeds abroad according to the Nagoya Protocol. I'm sorry I couldn't help you get the seeds. There are probably Korean companies that export seeds legally. I hope you can find them. Have a nice day :)
Hello, this is Algae. Thank you for the good question. I also often have similar experiences. Although pine is a hardy plant, the young sprouts that have just germinated die easily. I also don't know exactly what the cause is. Most of the shoots wither after necrosis of the roots, so it is thought that making the roots grow healthy is the key to a high survival rate. The low survival rate for sprouts may be natural. It is expected that the reason pines produce a large number of seeds on their own each year is because their sprouts are weak. I hope your pine tree can grow healthy. Have a good day :)
my experience has been that they don't like to be repotted, you would have more success I believe by potting directly into your second container. they also don't like to be wet, only water when it is obviously dry. That is usually why they wither@@Algae_algae
I did everything right when I planted mine, and they all withered but then I read something on the internet that after 2 weeks you shoul start feeding them, I did it with homemade plant food and 5 of them grew for 1 year then I wired them together to get one beautiful bonsai that is still healthy and strong today ❤
Thank you, exactly what I needed 😉

I think you transplant the sprout too early ? they are to fragile to be transplanted

@@Algae_algae Thanks for your reply, I thought I was doing something wrong, I'll keep trying
@@kopi828 keep the plant outside and water it only if the soil is dry. Overwatering kills conifer seedlings easily
