What tips do you have for better crafty time management? How do you track your projects?

I tend to start too many projects at once so I try to focus on 2-3 projects per month and try to have a goal of finishing one of them for that month. All my projects have a different start point, so I would try to finish up the project which has been hanging on my needles for the longest time. Also, among the 2-3 projects I am working on, I try to have a variety so I don't get sick of looking at it. For example, right now, I am knitting one baby pullover, one adult cardigan and finishing off the sleeves of an adult pullover that has been on my needles for 3 years 🤣

Thank you for your review! I like that the planner is made with quality materials, but ads???? Full page and throughout?? Deal breaker. That even makes me question buying anything from Laine. A planner like this, full of ads that only has two pages devoted to fiber projects, should be a free gift with purchase.
I use the Ravelry notebook to plan my projects and track everything knitting related. Thanks again for sharing your review!

With Ravelry, I only do project pages when I finish a project, so that I can go back and look up any info I want to know later on. For the past few years, my projects planner is a Hobonichi Weeks: I use the monthlies for my spending, the weeklies are horizontal and I use the weeklies for each day's projects I'm working on (left side) and any notes (on the right side page), there's notes pages and other pages at the end after the weeklies which I track start/end dates of each project as well as tracking my cost/value per project. But there's a few other things in the Weeks that I use randomly - one is the small verticals for each month for the year and I just mark off "X" on the day I finished a project. And, at the back there's a block for each month where I write my total purchases and the total $ spent for that month - Gives me an overview of my yearly spending.

@@theyarngoeson I’ve used the Hobonichi Cousin before as a work planner. I’ll have to take a look at the weeks version! I like the idea of tracking the cost per project too.

I use just a basic, inexpensive notebook for tracking my projects then transfer the pertinent details onto Ravelry. Once there, I love that the info is always available to me whether on my phone, tablet or desktop. Same is true for my stash. Thanks for such an honest review.

The ads a definitely a killer for me. If I buy a magazine I expect ads but a planner…. nope. It’s bad enough the ones in the front but the ones throughout the year are way too much. I’d rather a cheap, spiral bound planner than an expensive ad filled planner.

I came to your video from the Knitty Knatty vlogmas comment that you left under day 13! I really enjoyed hearing your honest and unbiased opinions about this knitting planner! I too prefer a spiral bound planner/journal. And, sadly, my local FedEx store (where I take all my items to be converted over to spiral bound) will not convert a hard cover book, to spiral, only paperback. Thank you for taking the time to create this video! 🙂

Sooooo glad I came across this video! I contemplated buying this planner for over a month and boy am I glad that I didn't buy it. It is really unfortunate that they have so many ads in a planner. If it were a magazine, I totally understand, but a planner with ads and at $25 is really a rip off IMO. Their MY KNITTING NOTES notebook is really great though! ZERO ads. It's like a knitting project diary purely for tracking needles, yarns and other notions used, thoughts on the pattern etc. I highly recommend that over their 2025 planner for project management, but it doesn't have dates or calendars like that so I'm not sure if it is a deal breaker for you!

I’m not known for being organized. While watching your video a couple of things came to mind. I have seen a couple of people say that they take their knitting pattern books to the UPS store and have it rebound as a spiral notebook, for easier page turning. So it seems like you could buy a journal a planner and then organize the way you want and have it bound.
