Wow! Just completed a yoke using your method. I like it so much more than the burrito method or the old-fashioned way of slip stitching the inside yoke piece at the shoulders. Amazing. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
After a google search for yoke construction I found this wonderful video. I was so impressed that I went to the website to see what lessons were there. I'm hooked! Can't wait to put into action all the great lessons & idea projects!
I was utterly lost at the yoke steps of Vogue 8759, my second ever pattern (I gave up in despair on opening the first ever one) and Professor Pincushion came to the rescue again with this wonderful video. Pincushion is the single most useful channel on TH-cam for any subject, and I use TH-cam a lot to learn all kinds of different things. Thank you PP !!!
Being new at sewing and working on my first shirt, i was at a total loss coming to ataching the yoke. This wonderfull and extremely clear video got me right back on track. Thanks!
Only 474 Likes? Come on! This was an awesome lesson. Clear, easy to understand and follow. This was compliments of our dear, cute and conscientious Professor Pincushion. Bravo, I like your style.
Making my first button shirt. Could not get top or tail of the yoke part of the pattern. Your wonderful clear explanation and demonstration cleared up all my confusion and I have just successfully sewn my first yoke and yoke facing to the back and fronts of the shirt. Thank you so much PP. Tina from the UK.
Professor Pincusion, Your tutorial videos are great help. I would like to request, if you show me how to cut step by step the yoke nighties (night wear) for large size. Thank you very much, safia
It holds it in place and should hide the stitching, giving a better finish. However I find it better to take the needle under a stitch rather than through the fabric as my stitches show if I do that!
Another great tutorial! I would like to know if I join the monthly premium will the shirt tutorial will be shown completely step by step. I would love to learn to sew a complete outfit such as this shirt. Thanks!!
you can definitely do that, but because you already have an understitch, you'll have two rows of stitching so it's a little trickier to get it to look neat.

What is the purpose of the slip stitch when you are going to top stitch?
Funny I just asked this same exact question today
yes why
It holds it in place and should hide the stitching, giving a better finish. However I find it better to take the needle under a stitch rather than through the fabric as my stitches show if I do that!

good
slip stitch is the hardest option, why not just top stitch.
you can definitely do that, but because you already have an understitch, you'll have two rows of stitching so it's a little trickier to get it to look neat.
