The DCAU (Animated Universe) of films is a great example of how to create a narrative universe. Its portrayal of the DC characters is fantastic. Batman is near perfect in that, and I want to see THAT version in live action.
Alan richson is incredible but got way too big. They’d have to use too much cgi for him and would fall into the dcu’s major failure. Their cgi. He’s the pinnacle of what Reacher is. No diss. But him running to the helicopter in the season 2 finale shows his lack of agility and swift movement. I’m hopeful for Gunn’s revitalization of the DCU. This could be just incredibly cinematic. Respect the characters and visuals. It’s a gold mine. Some of the best characters. I really hope for Superman it’s not this entire movie of just people getting thrown through buildings when it doesn’t mean anything with consequence.
In Cannon, Bruce Wayne is two years older than Clark Kent. If Superman is 30 years old n Legacy, then Bruce Wayne should only be 32. Since this movie doesn’t come out for another 3 to 4 years, the actor that will be cast to play Bruce Wayne is more than likely right now, only 28 or 29 years old.

Where Batman is actually 31-35 in avg storyline since he needed 12 years to train and become JLA Batman. Canon is what you make it when it comes to old properties like DC & Star Wars etc.
I feel like Matt reeves Batman will dope but I’m more interested in what Gunn will do because it will be diff. Batman is usually done in a way how can we make it closer to real life and that works great for Batman but I think Gunn will lean more in to the comic feel. I guess will see. 🤷🏼♂️

“Batman - The Brave and the Bold or Shame and it’s Old.” When you have such a gap in waiting for delivering actual movies for Batman and Superman, all you have is talk, talk, and daydreaming of stories and plots that will never satisfy everyone or anyone entirely. Batman shown in the new DC movie universe as the perfect fighter beyond Bruce Lee/Ninjas, the brains of the top scientist super heroes, and his sidekick son as being the new evolved male-hit girl is like just watching another $70 idea game. Fleshing out all the built up comic book fantasies in 2025 in a 2 1/2 hr movie after all the past failures after the end of Nolan’s Dark Knight saga, in just one movie is asking a bit much. And I liked Guardians of Galaxy 3, but again remember it took three movies to get there, and no one is demanding to watch a Guardians of Galaxy universe, even though it ended well with a new team at the end. Guardians 3 does not represent all of MCU, and Brave and the Bold comic is a team-up comic of Batman and other guest star DC heroes. Batman has been onscreen on TV and movies since the 60’s. They have had decades and decades to introduce his villains and classic stories to be live action filmed since then, such as Hush, Long Halloween, Owlman, Killing Joke, etc. and now they could only do it by animation, which many times seemed so dated to when you actually read it decades ago. And then you have writing liberties of adding or changing the canon plot line by having Batman sleep with Batgirl it just offends and slaps fans in the faces as well as turns off new fans and audiences. James Gunn has a tall order here, but canceling all DC media projects such as the shows and animation is sheer ignorance, laziness, ego, and fan disrespect. That’s what lost a lot of comic fans up to now as well as generational fans that were won during the Michael Keaton-Tim Burton years and the losing thousands again after Nolan-Dark Knight era. Just like the battle during the 80’s with Michael J vs. Prince, if you compare the MCU vs. DCU today, you don’t have to ask anyone off the street, as there will always be more excitement with the newest MCU movie, because Feige honors and characters form the comics as well as all actors with more respect than the average DC superhero Icon as well as the actors and actresses attached to them. If you picked any of the central 7 DC core superheroes and move downward, there is never ending disrespect to the stories (canon), the characters and the actors & actresses that helps to make them relevant again and revered. It’s all about hate versus love. And DCU CEO’s and Warner Brothers ruined it for the next decade onwards.
I’d like Jensen to play Batman. Jake Gyllenhaal sucks and Alan is way too big. But Alan could play the big Damien Wayne clone the Heretic. That’d be awesome.
I think as long as the ‘Bat family’ isn’t in this universe, it has a chance. Robin as a character only works in the context of the 60’s tv show, the rest of the time, him, nightwing, batgirl etc, are just surplus to requirements & actually undermine & contradict the whole concept of Batman. Damian if introduced, will just end up being the Scrappy Doo of these movies
