I've always thought that Damien would make a better Ras than a Batman.

Yeah. But I do like the idea of him being the nominal successor and having the mantle under Bruce's close tuteladge for a time only to prove too unlike what the Batman is and closer to what Ra's represents and basically be barred from ever being Batman.

Damien strives to be the best; or better. He strives for perfection; for the acknowledgment of one person, his dad. To do so, he always had to adapt. They’re the same, while also being completely different.
Don't forget, Terry is Bruce's biological son as well. Damien and Terry are bros. I wonder if the writer for this story knew this.
Doubt Damian considers Terry a brother like he does Dick or Tim.
Terry being Bruce's son was a bad retcon anyway. It ruined what made him special.

Bruce's major fault in this is not really knowing his more violent Robin's as well as he think he does. He thinks Jason is this way because of the Lazarus Pit, Jason says he's always been this way. Bruce thinks that the suit made Damian this way, but Damian says he's always been this way. He just can't grasp the fact that these two are just hardened individuals and don't always have the same moral compass as some of the other Batfamily. And even when he does acknowledge it, I don't think he knows how to properly address it and just thinks that blaming an external source just has to be the culprit.
During the Red Hood comic where he point blank shoots Penguin in the face and Bats absolutely flips the lid on him. He allowed Jason to still operate in Gotham as long as he didn't kill anyone, but still let him use guns with real ammunition; why would he think Jason wouldn't do something like that? Then in this. Damian has become the new leader and Bruce just hopes he'll suddenly stop and come back to Gotham and not kill anyone.
Bruce dosent try enough for his "sons" and when it's gone too far he makes up excuses for himself.

Comic Bruce does go out of his way to support his sons and nowadays he is a really good father for Damian.
not quite before this fight in this story, damian already got over his violent tendencies, but. he once wore the beyond suit that terry is currently wearing which is a prototype, he wore it only once back when gotham was getting torn apart by a bane themed gang. damian did managed to stop them but the suit's ai was messing with his mind by telling him to go for the kill, which gave damian a bit of a mental breakdown. bruce looked for him after damian's mental breakdown but only found the suit, which bruce also wore once and he himself had a hard time wearing it due to the suit's mental push to him.
didn't help that bruce got knocked out when fighting the same gang that damian fought. and was constantly fading in and out and the suit's ai taking over controlling his every action and was fighting to make sure that the ai doesn't kill anyone.
after that incident he put the suit in cold storage and began building a new one.
Didn't Bruce knew Jason's attitude even during his time as Robin? He was always shown having street smart and filled with rage fighting criminals.
So fans hated him and voted for him to die in the comics back then not just because he wasn't likeable because of him not being a wisecracking Robin.
Terry is lucky Damien didn't send in Batcow to deal with him

This Damian backed up every single one of his words with actions and carried this entire arc, mopped the floor with Terry too, though I know the hate Damian gathers from readers isn't rational anymore.

And let's not forget The Al Ghul side. Half brother Respawn. Twin sister Althunnisia. Female cousin Mara. Mother Talia. Grandfather Ra's. And last but not least, great grand matriarch Mother Soul.

Never gave it any thought before but when pushed comes to shove I'd have to consider the McGinnis brothers to be the lesser biological heirs to Damian. And in thinking about it, Batman is the DC baby daddy equivalent of Wolverine .....
McGinnis' mother wasn't given the choice on birthing a part Wayne. That was Amanda Waller. It's one hell of a messed up storyline. Damian at least was a choice.

The drugged thing was an accidental retcon by a writer who didn't read the original story but he retcon his retcon later.
Bruce had a choice. He chose no protection.

I doubt that given how much of a side character Damien was before recent times. Terry even managed a standalone animated series, whereas not sure most folks can stand Damien enough to finish a season.

They should have made Damian a grey character. Let him be the head of los but he isn't a psycho like his grandpa and uses it to take down global crime and such instead. Would be a much better character that way

@@iSTEFIXi that's a different timeline all together....terry didnt exist in that timeline to begin with plus in this timeline batman raised Damián till almost adulthood until he left and terry came as replacement

just to clear thing's out the reason damian became like this again is because of the prototype batsuit, which is one of the strongest suits that bruce made but it also extremely dangerous due to the suit's a.i. Damian once wore the suit to stop a gang who calls themselves bane. he manages to stop them but the suit's a.i. started telling him to go for the kill and the suit was messing with his mind and damian suffered a full on mental breakdown, bruce looked for him but only found the suit. turns out he relapsed back into his old ways due to the suit's ai messing with his mind.
I actually see here that Ras was right. Bruce is also always pushing people away by not caring enough, or caring but not showing it enough

I wouldn't thought of seeing Terry McGinnis vs Damian Wayne in the comics. They're being the sons of Bruce Wayne in different realities and yet somehow they can cross paths.

this is a different continuity. since in the previous story at the ending turns out the original joker is alive, and is the reason terry and his friends found out that Bruce was alive all along. since the beginning of Batman Beyond: Rebirth focuses on Terry's return and his search for Bruce. as everyone thought he died when in truth he was forced into a coma by the joker's gang under Blight's orders. so he can steal Bruce's company "again"

Bruce made a batsuit with lethal force protocols ? Bullshit. The whole reason he didn't just keep using the beyond suit is because the very last time he did, he got overpowered and instinctly reached for a gun and almost shot the goons. If he was still so disgusted with the idea of killing long after finishing the suit, he certainly was while he designed it.
Plus I think I recall a comic showing that the Beyond suit was already finished in batman's prime, but required a power source so strong that It didn't even exist yet and the suit was just waiting for technology to catch up. Present batman has even less chance to use lethal force than old batman

Ra's is dead in this story as in even the pit couldn't revive him anymore. and a civil war within the league of shadows was brewing so damian took the title, also damian's mind was kinda messed up due to batsuit that terry is wearing since that suit though powerful it forces it's wearer to kill. and tends to take control of the wearers body which it did to an unconscious bruce when he got knoced out during a fight.

In Batman Beyond show, Ra's took over Talia's body. If Damien was with Ra's, I doubt he'd let him do it.
@@hunterv9983 this is a different continuity though, as previously on this batman beyond everyone thought Bruce was dead until they found out that he was being kept in a forced induced coma by, the joker's under blight's command. so that he could steal wayne industries "Again"
and in this continuity Ra's body can only be revived for a few hours as if his body adapted to the pit's effects and could no longer extend his life and he kinda looks like that dried up fish on the chocolate episode of spongebob. so you can guess why'd they killed him off.

Batman‘s a billionaire he would be using stem cells to stay young. These comics are so far behind on medical technology Mike Tyson who’s not even a millionaire uses stem cells so that he could fight at his peak. He’s over 50 years old.
In away this is a brother versus brother Terry's Dna was altered so he became Bruce's son as well and if damien Knew this he would have tried to convince Terry to join him I don't see Terry doing it though but if Terry knew that damien was his genetic brother he might have tried to convince him to come back to the bat family it might even have happened but if you go by the batman beyond animated series ra's al ghul had transferred his mind to his daughter talia al ghul which would mean he could have transferred his mind to damien Instead Why didn't he🤔

@@jingleballs9935 It's very much possible to be entertained by something you don't personally enjoy or something you think is bad. I've read comics that are completely inane and braindead, but I keep reading out of curiosity of how much further it can devolve. The devolution is what entertains me, not the comic itself which is taking itself completely serious. That's where the terms "Hate-watching" and "Hate-reading" come from. I don't know the case for OP and how THEY are enjoying it but it's very much possible they can dislike something in the video but still find it entertaining.
@@jingleballs9935 I like Batman Beyond and Terry McGinnis. What I didn't like was that this whole thing had both of Batman's possible successors act extremely out of character. Damian suddenly deciding to rejoin the League of Assassins because "humanity needs to die" is really dumb because he's just young overpowered Ra's in this comic rather than his own leader. He can look at his grandfather's pursuit as noble, but it shouldn't define his identity. Bruce should have just as much influence over his beliefs as those two.
This is also a older, more experience Terry McGinnis, I seriously doubt Batman hasn't at least sent him to similar places to where he trained to be Batman before, and Terry still wouldn't ever want to kill someone, at least not intentionally.
@@burnttoast.2017 Though it seems like Damian would without a doubt make a greater successor for Ras. His motivation in this story however is too weak. Like come on he runs the League of Assassins why is he not trying to do his own thing with it, instead of continuing his predecessors old plan.

Batman is the worse hero im sorry this isn't rage bate but let's be honest, his moral code contradicts everything he is fighting for. I can see if every major villain and or small thugs he went up against gets rehabilitated from the many ass whippings bats has given them or the mercy of my killing them makes them turn a new leaf. That doesn't happen tho, they recover and commit some of the most heinous crimes known to man. Batman is just a sadists he likes beating people up and having them beg for there lives. He doesn't care if they get out of arkham cause he can beat them up again. What man learns all martial arts known to man some of which are meant to be killing arts but doesn't kill ? A man that simply wants to yeti out all of his moves just to the brink of a persons death just to say im Batman. 😂😂😂 he ain't no hero that's for sure he ain't stopped not one villain. Oh and let's not forget why he recruits the kids. He's doing that too see if he is the only one like himself. He's trying to re create himself but to stop villains but to see if there is anyone out that just like him
Batman 100% has flaws, he is basically just as traumatized as the Joker its just his trauma manifests in an extreme savior complex with an inability to stray from his own order he has created. To say he is the worst super hero doesnt make sense though. Yea all of his problems would have been solved if he just killed the Joker like 3rd or 4th time he busts out of Arkham but he still saves alot of lives regardless and is usually pretty invaluable to the Justice League. It really doesnt get any scummier than taking child sidekicks but honestly in a world where people have super powers the only way some ordinary human stands a chance is if they get started young, which may not be his reasoning but from a writing perspective it makes his robins way more believable as heroes when they have to fight metahumans and the such knowing they more or less were raised to do so. If you throw out all the nuance of any superhero than they all look pretty stupid.
