It is great remembering what we loved as teenagers - I am 67 years young, so near to yourself in age, and I was in love with David Essex! I lived in a very conservative household, my Father was very strict on rules, and I love the way that David made me see a gypsy type person, who was free. I respected my parents, but wished I had been home schooled, as I loved nature, and hated having to go to school. I am dyslexic, which they did not understand in those days, and my Mother always said I was different. It is so sad that the child I was, did not have the understanding that is around now. But I am making up for that now, in living the reclusive life I love, with my rescue greyhound Madge. xxx

When I look at the way humankind has evolved, humans have become arrogant and believe that they can control everything, when ultimately they have no real power, not even those IN power. For me, this year has been an eye-opener regarding my garden, because of all the rain we’ve had, it has become wild (well, almost wild). I decided to take a leap of faith and let everything fight for themselves. The roses are gorgeous because of all the rain, and the shrubs I planted recently are doing well. The rest is a little unruly, with the different types of grass and wild flowers, in particular with newcomer bindweed trying to lord over everyone else, but I’ll sort things out in autumn. Meanwhile I cut meandering paths through the « lawn » and enjoy visiting the garden every morning when it’s not raining. I keep the front yard reasonably tidy for the neighbours and for my peace of mind.

Most people in the states knew about what led up to this recent situation and the one last week. Are we surprised...not really. This is not about us but the entire globe. A day does not go by when I encounter someone wanting to live a similar life like yours. Many are tired and want a simple life.
Many people to include me could careless who is the team captain. We have all been lied to by both team captains. I moved to the country for peace and quietness. Where I live our community rows up the carpet at 8pm and weekends it is 6pm. Hearing a pin drop is an understatement. I am 20 miles from the freeway and I can hear vehicles and can determine what is what. This life is not for everyone. I let things in only if I want. Hmm,,,, the songs of our youth! Like you, my neck feels the cold and I do enjoy the comfort of a scarf! I was 8 when Ai got my tonsils out. Ear ache, tonsillitis, Bronchitis, styes, yes, been there too! We may have been poor but we never realized it. We proudly wore hand-me-downs, and learned how to mend and sew, I was six when I learned how to knit! you are very right about the huge changes being forced upon us by the political elite, who themselves are blithely uncaring about the destruction they wrought upon the poor and those already struggling to make ends meet! your driveway in the evening rain is beautiful!

Well, nice to know that you love "Midsomer Murders." It's my favorite BBC program. I've watched almost the entire series once and am watching them again, hoping to catch the latest ones when I finish these. AND I do remember with great fondness the song "Itchycoo Park." I like how small things like this make our world seem so much smaller and us all so much closer.

We live a simple life 100 mi away from a large city. We grow as much food as possible and have transformed our desert home into an oasis mostly by composting and being proactively eco-wise in water usage. We have few services nearby but we are self-sufficient and always in learning mode. We have much for which to be grateful.

Hello Colette I was a great fan of Small Faces went to watch them often. SteveMarriott was one of founders of Small Faces from 1965 he was lead singer all the early songs were with him as front man He went onto form Humble Pie, and Rod Stewart became front man. ItchyCoo Park was one of Steves hit songs.Steve Marriott also made his debut as an actor at an early age.I had his poster on my bedroom wall , my brothers teased my sister and I for our crush on the Small faces, and most of the early 60's bands. Great days for sure. Rod Stewart was a later edition, the band never seemed the same. became more rock music. A slow progress to heavy metal etc. Hugs and Blessings 💚🌹

The Small Faces were a fantastic band. Steve Marriott was such a talented guy, what a voice. So sad how he died in a house fire. My favourite song was All Or Nothing.

Here in America, I feel like Zeus or some other God has had a temper tantrum and thrown all the pieces of life as we know it up in the air. Many pieces have yet to land! And it does make us anxious not knowing what picture they will make when they get fitted back together. But I do feel that it is all part of something greater, as you said.

I too am in America right now and I am very grateful for this opportunity for us to finally vote for a great, honest, intelligent and very strong woman to become our next President 🤩💙🩵💙
We all are in this together with each of us equally being pieces of the same puzzle 😊Kamala Harris is a great blessing for our Democracy to survive and flourish.

@@jillmartin5734 I thought it would be obvious.... I forgot that I have to state the obvious: Kamala Harris is the only woman who is endorsed by President Biden and is one everyone's mind in this time of transition to elect the first female President in the United States of America.
I hope this is clear and helpful for you to understand my comment.
Jill, are you being humorous? It is hard to know what is on someone's mind when we can't see their face and their expressions. 🙃🤔

Oh, yes lady's mantle. I keep reading that it spreads so readily and I can barely keep mine alive and spread it doesn't! So frustrating. I do love the look especially early in the morning with the morning dew decking the leaves with jewels. And yes, things are definitely crazy in the world today. And the thing is that it is everywhere you look. Generally there is something alarming going on somewhere, but these days it is EVERYWHERE! As Hamlet said "the times are out of joint" ------for sure. It would be good to get back into an easy flow of history.

I enjoy re-watching Midsomer Murders too, but the stalwart Vera is also my idol especially as she’s Herself and really embraces it! Both stories are excellent refuge from the insanity! Blessings🐇
