More medications many people will never be able to try. Chronic migraineurs have usually tried a lot of different medications but gepants are only approved for insurance coverage if you've tried between 2-4 prophylactic medications which many migraineurs have tried many more than that as well as have a >50% reduction in migraine days while on the medication (CADTH). If you have 20+ migraine days a month, 5 less migraine days a month would be life changing. Botox has been approved for migraine treatment since 2011 but 10 years later, my province still won't cover them.

was just prescribed Maxeran after stopping prescriptions of Maxalt, Imitrex, Zomig years ago because of side effects. Neurologist says next step is daily preventative meds which I am reluctant to starting. Currently at 2 attacks a month averaging 3-4 days each. While frequency has stuck to about 2 a month, duration and pain intensity has increased with age (these started 25 years ago for me). Good luck all.
