You guys aren't far from where they filmed "Bridge on the River Kwai". Wasn't filmed in Thailand like most people think. Anyway. It is a breathtaking area (as is most of Sri Lanka). The bridge was built on the Kelani river in Kitulgala. Safe travels.

Hi Stacia if you are in Ella visit Bandarwela as well it's beautiful city also you can visit stay in Banadarawela Hotel very good Tourist Hotel Old style, , Diyaluma ella water fall, if you go to Hapulathe very close, you are able to visit the "St Benedict's Monastery - Adisham" it's only 6 Km and you can stay in good hotel called "Olympus Plaza Hotel" 3 star hotel also do not forget to visit Nuwareliya the botanical garden enjoy the best weather like England in Nuwareliya
