How To Enable All CPU Cores Windows 10 - Boost PC PERFORMANCE 2022 (Do At Own Risk)

  • How To Enable All CPU Cores Windows 10 - Boost PC PERFORMANCE 2022 (IF YOUR NOT VERY FINILAR WITH PC'S DONT DO THIS, YOU MAY SCREW SOMETHING UP! SO DO AT YOUR OWN RISK!) In This Video i well Show you how to Enable all of your CPU Cores, If Needed, NOTE: The effectiveness of this technique depends on the operating system you’re running as well as the specific application you’re running; many operating systems and applications used to not be able to take advantage of multiple cores and would, as a result, not see any measurable advantage from the extra cores. However, fortunately, almost all modern operating systems and many resource-heavy programs such as Adobe Premiere are able to take advantage of the extra cores, and as a result, run more quickly and efficiently than they would otherwise.
Do you need to do anything in order to make full use of multi-core CPUs on your computer? The answer is that it really depends on the version of Windows you are running. For older versions of Windows, such as Windows XP, you might need to change a system setting in your BIOS in order to get multi-core functionality working. In any newer version of Windows, however, multi-core support is automatically turned on; you can adjust your settings to use fewer cores if necessary to fix a software compatibility reason, but this is exceptionally rare.
If you’re using Windows 10, all of your processor cores will be fully utilized by default if your BIOS/UEFI is set correctly. The only time you would use this technique is to limit cores, whether for software compatibility reasons or otherwise.

*IF YOUR NOT VERY FIMILAR WITH PC'S DONT DO THIS, YOU MAY SCREW SOMETHING UP!) THIS IS STRAIGHT FROM GOOGLE ("Is it good to enable all cores in msconfig?)*

As of my experience, it does boost your startup time by a LOT (and I mean INSANELY lot). Downside is, your shutdown speed will be the opposite of fast, you can definitely tell the difference when shutting down so if you want your shutdown speed to be fast then it's best to keep the core usage on balanced or keep it on default (1) if you want to.

Windows typically utilizes all available CPU cores by default. If this box is unchecked, Windows is set to use all available cores by default. Checking the box allows you to manually specify the number of cores to use. 99.9% of people don't need to do anything, unless they have previously changed themselves.

Its not supposed to, but if you read the Comments there are people who say it could, And it just may if its an older PC, or if you dont know much about PC's, or if you dont do it EXACTLY how i do it in the Video, then there is a Possibility you may mess something up, but as you can clearly see in this video, it didn't damage mine, and the hundreds of people in the Comments that said "Thank you your a life saver" Ext, So it does work, & Thats why i say "IF YOUR NOT VERY FINILAR WITH PC'S DONT DO THIS, YOU MAY SCREW SOMETHING UP! One important thing to bear in mind is that enabling all the cores increases the thermal load on the machines cooling system. A PC that has just a fan mounted over the heat sink and a fan cooling the chassis is in danger of overheating especially if the heat sink fins are dusty or clogged. Just for sh!ts and grins I enabled all the cores on the 6 core cpu in my HP tower and sure enough the system shut down after about a half hour operating. And this is in spite of just recently cleaning the fan and heat sink assembly. Returning the original setting solved the shutdown problem. I would guess that a system dedicated to hard core gaming would have a more robust cooling system and thus less prone to overheating but in any case, it's a factor to keep in mind.

This is bs. The default windows behavior is to use all cores, and has been that since windows 7. These videos dont know what they are talking about. This exists to limit the functionality to less cores than the default, which would be the use of all of them. Your shutdown issue was probably a correlation not a causation

The Core i5 13600K is a 14-core processor, made up of six Hyper-Threaded Performance-cores (P-cores) and eight Efficient-cores (E-cores) As to why your only seeing 10, I do believe there is only 6 to begin with, as in the P cores, & the others could be factored inside of them! As an i5 is a 6 Core - 10 Tread CPU as far as i know anyway. 🤷‍♂

'all' cpu cores are enabled by default. this isn't something windows has no direct control over. it can configure some to NOT be used. unless you have a very old AMD FX CPU don't touch this. and the cores you see in task manager aren't always cores..their logical processors. if your CPU supports hyperthreading and most new ones do-each CPU Core has 2 'threads' so this is shown as 2 cores in task manager. Right? So my 5600h is a 6c/12t CPU. In task manager, 12 cores are shown. Obviously it doesn't have 12, it has 6 but hyperthreading allows splitting cores so this is the result. that said i think it's great you made this video to show people how it all works. most people are clueless and eat blocks of cheese all day.

I’ve read the cores are selected as enabled by default - what you’re doing in the configuration menus is manually selected something that’s already on.
The “cores” are actually the logical processors - which can be seen in Task Manger under Performance
Under the grids of said processors will be the number of cores you’re using and the number of logical processors it has enabled.
What I think you’re referring to or trying to do to get peak performance is disable “parked cores” - the logical processors that “turn off” (sleep) due to lack of cpu load.
In essence you’re trying to overclock the cpu
It can be manually, but that requires a few modifications to the BIOS, and possibly settings in when does itself, which if you don’t know what you’re doing good, cause a fatal flaw, which may destroy your computer.
I know because I did that to my computer almost 9 years ago.
There is a program called QuickCPU - which can tap into your computers, turbo function over clock function, and even just keep all logical processors running at top notch, and you can set startup settings for it too.
I recently downloaded it, and now I’ve seen a little increase in performance .
The set up is easy to follow and you can roll back to settings if necessary without harming your computer .
It’s kinda like a third-party version of task manager .
The difference is it’s dedicated to power management of the cores overall - you can actually have a selection to overclock/divert power to your logical processors and keep them on to the max speed that’s rated for your CPU - a tad bit safer for those who are illiterate in the ways of modifying your computer (like I am)

That is something totally diffrent from what this is, and it there not activated from stock, then there not supposed to be, and i recommend leaving them alone.

Hello my friend, you may have to right click on the Graph and change the settings to all logical Cores for them all to show
