My ex wife was American and she went usa to visit when OOT was released. She got the gold version which was limited quantities until stock ran out. I still have it today in mint condition. I still love her for it. Rip Terri
16:00 doesn't help when the shops stack the frail cardboard boxes sideways with a few on top of one another. I can't believe the lack of care some storeowners have for these rarities.
Well Gemma even though you didn't get the "gold", you still got a hidden gem of a banger in Power Blade!!!! If you've never played it before, you're definitely in for a treat! You don't know how happy it made me when you said you bought Power Blade!!!!
Despite your effort, the search still rages on for that elusive Wipeout game. Seriously though, you'd think that would be an easy pickup with it shifting a ton of copies back in the day.
@@deathbob091 It got a platinum release so it certainly sold enough to be a common game. I personally own the platinum release of the game. So it's scarcity on the market is unusual.
@@trueultimagod2465 are you looking for the og release or the platinum version? some collectors dont even bother with re printed re skined games. to each their own
It's a common game, the best selling of the initial UK games, but that means they are also the oldest UK games, so getting a good condition one might be a bit harder. The double case ones aren't as common as they were released later on in smaller amount, but before the platinum release.
LOVED Cookie on the Spectrum, that was such a wicked game. Another shop i need to goto, they had a very rare game i spotted in the video at a really good price.
Nice and varied selection with fair prices in that store. After work I visited the local charity shop and made a surprising score there myself, found a clear green OG xbox with it's controller and GTA San Andreas for €30
“I think I have most of those…” Yeah, I had to make a list of games I need after buying the same game two thrift shop trips in a row - a game I already had before the FIRST duplicate purchase!
Retro Registry alows you to keep track of games in your collection, by scanning bar codes or with manual input, it also tracks current game values, it's free !!
Good video, enjoyed. Like these retro game hunts, reminds me of when used to have Spectrum 128k basic with tape deck, then master system, NES etc. Had game boy, loved the game gear more. Remember and played jet set willy. Like that matt street fighter hardback book, good fine, same with rest of your buys. Good luck with finding pain etc
That boxed Power Blade was a nice pick up. It's one of my favourite games on the NES. I'm going to a retro game fair on sunday, maybe I'll look for a boxed Power Blade myself.🤔
@@TheGebs24 I did find a boxed copy of Power Blade but I haven't bought it. The state of the box was not good enough and they asked 65 euros for it. However I did buy two boxed Tomb Raider 3 dolls. You know, the old 1999/2000 ones with all the accessories. They only cost me 30 euros a piece! 😃
Gutted I didn't know u wanted this game I was in retro world as soon as they opened the day after they posted it on fb and honestly some of them n64 games were minty. I had that in my hands but bit out of my pocket money spend haha I managed to pick up the ordinary version of ocarina of time though and was so tempted by many more. The owners of the shop are lovely I'm sure if you drop them a message they will put things aside for you in future x
Omg I remember playing a demo of incredible crisis as a kid and finding it really funny, I need add that to my collection of games I wanted as a kid but never owned 😅
Dont give up! I found that variant of Ocarina of Time at Lee's Dealz a couple of years back. Great game! They have a copy of Mystical Ninja 2 in at the moment which i was tempted by. 🤔, just a bit pricy. Loving the amount of videos you're doing at the moment. I like watching just to see what i can spot and see if i need/ want anything. Great pick ups!! Awesome vids! Also ive been to quite a few shops that i never knew existed because of your videos! 👍
Ooh just saw fighting force on PS1 had some great times with that 😊 another PS1 game you should try if you haven't is "Wu Tang Clan: Taste The Pain" it's like a streets of rage mixed with mortal Kombat
@@TheGebs24 I’m not saying it’s a rip off, I just couldn’t personally part with that sort of cash for that particular game. @@TheGebs24I can't tell, but they are flat out my favourite games from the 90s. The music, art, gameplay and overall vibe is so right and has high replayability. I think Fire Emblem existed before but for me they were the first tactical RPGs I came across.
I’m convinced I had the gold Ocarina of Time cart back when it came out but not the Australian gold box version, came in the normal PAL black box and may have been available with Gameplay (remember them?!) but not sure if it was an exclusive they had or not. Can anyone remember what was essentially the UK / European gold cart in black box or am I losing my marbles? Help!
Yes the good cart of N64 of Zelda ocarina of time os beautiful, link to the past holds a lot of nostalgia for me lots of endless evenings playing back in the early 90s ♥️🟢
Fingers crossed i can go, hoping can buy tickets at the door as id rather do that instead of paying beforehand as i need to see how i feel on the day i get migranes so if i have one i cant drive while tablets kick in....fingers crossed
The spectrum tapes are priced ok. Though amstrad was way better than spectrum but commodore was better than those 2...but dull mited colours I have sealed copies of manic miner and jet set willy for amstrad

wipe out was made as a promotion by sony (for a movie), so they didnt produce as many copies as you would for a normal ps release
I’m baffled James. Ideally, I’d like the double case version

I had a Spectrum 128k+2 with Operation Wolf, Dizzy Egg, Daley Thompson’s Decathlon, Chase HQ, Ghostbusters and yes, Jet Set Willy!
Love the videos Gemma! You're like Steve Irwin and Lara Croft for video game collecting
Jet set willy what a throwback!! You been smashing the gym Gemma your glowing ;)
I've had a few sessions. I need to do though

Gem, i'd have been all over that Road Rash game, plus the Road Rash 3 on the MD.
Nice game hunting. Jet Set Willy rings some bells, I think I had it for Commodore 64. Found the SSX3 for PS2 in 2018 for 5 Euros, fun game.
Top video! Should always show your purchases at the end 😅
Good find on the Incredible Crisis
Omg I need that Xena guide!
I would buy Asterix for Sega Master System at 8:30 with manual of course.

Lovely little shop that is! 👌🏽

Looks mint right?! And Arnie from T1?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
There was a lawsuit with Arnie 😂 Great game, much better than the sought after Power Blade 2

Those american snes games except contra 3 were mine sold them to retro world few months ago
Not sure my last msg went through but theres a pal copy of wipeout disc, case and book online for a good price, cool channel
Shame the golden OoT went, but hardly a surprise. There was a PAL gold cart for Ocarina - in Australia. I have the USA one, had it maybe 15 years?
Yes Australia had the golden cart.
£50 for road rash on the original game boy? …. Fuck no baaabyyy.

Think former NES Nintendo or games boy or cpc Amstard or Sega Saturn or Sega master system or Atarl 2600 or Games boy and ok.
Lester is one of the worst games I’ve ever played it’s unbelievable how bad it is
I’d never seen it before
