History of the Michigan Avenue Apple Store

- Michigan Avenue in Chicago has featured two major Apple stores. The company’s first flagship in 2003, which featured a green roof, and their first new generation flagship in 2017, which featured a super-thin carbon fiber roof. This more recent store is one of Apple’s most unique. Its award-winning concept, design, and construction set a new standard for the company. And it all began in 2014 when Angela Ahrendts became Apple’s senior vice president of retail and online stores.

@@Rodrigo-jd2wg apple has some of the best working conditions. Many people who work in high-tech would wish to work with apple!
And as for the factories, it depends on which ones you’re talking about. They have factories in the US, which of course has proper working conditions.
As for the Chinese ones, I can’t say for sure what’s going on there. As I’ve said earlier, I’d love to see some proof.

I like your longer videos. it seems like you're making mostly short videos now, those are good but I am glad to see a longer video again!
Except for the videos he makes where it could be explained in under 30 seconds and he milks them to 10 minutes, like the one he made about the home button, or the headphone jack

I was in Chicago for work and went for a morning jog one morning. Chicago is one of the best-planned cities ever. I passed by this store and was in awe. Apple does an incredible job finding these locations.
I have missed these longer videos as opposed to the short ones you have made this last year or so. When you go into more detail like you have here, we as viewers can appreciate the Apple Store's architecture so much more.
In 2018 Apple built an amazing flagship store in Liberty Square -Milan featuring a waterfall and a similar “bench and stairs” system as in Michigan Avenue -Chicago .
I always 💭 the store miss some natural light tho .

I was working across the street in an office building when this masterpiece was being built. It was amazing to see it take shape and come to life and then finally step inside once it was complete. I knew it was magnificent but thank you for all these extra details I never knew about!

I remember being homeless in Chicago in 2012 and used to hang out at the apple store to use the WiFi and check out the devices that I’d never be able to afford and now I have tons of apple devices and was fortunate enough to have a house now too :)

I was there for the opening of this store! They had a full event and Tim Cook swung by. I was one of the first people in and the employees applauded me and gave me a commemorative long-sleeve shirt, haha. I love the store, it's one of the coolest buildings downtown.

As a Dutch, I visited that one in 2018. Some work on the trees outsides was still in progress then. But what a great place to be!! One of the most beautiful stores I've been in (next to the stunning historical Champs-Élysées building in Paris).

As a Samsung fan,, I must say that Apple surely and squarely owns the Luxury spot in the tech world.. the way they advertise,, the attention to details,, the consistency over generations,, the all glass and metal premium feel to their products is something that you can’t overlook..
Nice, good that they gave most of the space to public and have a only 20 percent retail space out of the entire space.

Apple stores aren't just retail spaces, they are works of art and feats of engineering! I wonder if there is a whole backstory to the Downtown Brooklyn Apple Store like there was for this one and even the 5th avenue store in Manhattan.
