Cicada IoT Comms Module: Live Demo with Georg Lippitsch, Firmware Engineer

Cicada is the IoT communications module with GSM & WiFi capabilities that allows Energy Access appliances like mini-grids and SHS to send and receive information about energy use. It enables energy service providers to expand their services to rural communities that traditionally have been hard to reach. Before Cicada was developed by Okra Solar, existing off-the-shelf solutions were not rugged enough to perform in low-connectivity environments.
Cicada has been funded and supported by EnAccess. EnAccess strives to make Open Source tools more easily accessible to anyone who needs them. In July 2023, as part of a longer webinar, EnAccess hosted a webinar that includes a live demo/walkthrough (targeted for Developers) on how to get started using Cicada.
