Anyone bitching about the black and white does not know anything about film. This is black and white that has been digitally restored, or the film has been restored. The audio is clear and enhanced. Very clear, well done ! These are the greatest vampire films ever made. 🧛 Bela is the man !
This is s CLASSIC! Superb restoration-perfect clarity of sound and image. And THANK YOU for not colorizing the film. Movies like this should always be kept in pristine Black & White.
Loved this movie as a kid, watching on 70s late night. Scared the hell out of me with all the dry ice fog, and gnarled trees. I particularly remember the elegant and stylish Frieda Inescort, her intrepid performance as the Lady Jane, vampire slayer....You are Evil.... and you will be destroyed...what a scene ! And Bela was great too !
Boys and girls, this is a Classic that is eternal.........Great Horror Film.........One of the very best..........All will enjoy................................Patrick❤❤❤
A very good horror movie. So good to see Bela Lugosi playing Dracula again, even with a different name, due to Columbia pictures making the film. All of the actors were quite good in their roles.Thank you,for showing this film.
This movie in my humble opinion is one of the greatest true Vampyr werewolf movies to come out in the 40's ! incredible sets, lighting and Gothic fog banks !
To think that if the film director had used Lon Chaney Jr as the werewolf, both he and Bela Lugosi would have been reunited once more. Nice film and entertaining. Many thanks for posting.
Nothing beats these spooky, classic treasures! Columbia succeeded admirably with the same chilling atmospheric look, ala Universal horror, in films such as this! And they did it with class!
Old horror films are classic. The fear factor is there. The horror films of today full of special effects just don't have any fear instilled in me. They startle me (shock and awe special effects), but they don't scare me.
I never really thought about it that way before. GOOD POINT! Here I thought that I was just getting too old, jaded and turned off by all of the pointless modern-day gratuitous Blood & Guts!
This is my favourite Bela movie. Apparently the original idea was for this to be a Dracula sequel, but I guess the issue was copywright by Universal and all that nonsense. That Werewolf was actually quite cute. He reminded me of my pet dog! More of the same please. Wonderful stuff!
Interesting that a single cross on a piano can make the vampire flee but standing in a graveyard with multiple crosses around him he does not even flinch ...
He's NOT exactly Dracula. Universal Pictures at the time owned the rights to the Dracula name. So Columbia had to create another name for Lugosi's character.
@Screamcity many thanks for posting this underrated and rarely seen (unofficial) sequel to Tod Browning’s 1931 adaptation of Stoker’s fable and Deane/ Balderston’s play
Bela as always is bloody good. Well cast. Preposterous screenplay. Unexpected twists: Dracula bites a child, some interesting camera shots, a friendly Wolf Man.
first time seeing this classic how could i have not seen this one, I'm 73 I was sure i've seen all the horror movies 10 time over, great show, keep digging these old creep show up
Nothing wrong with old black and white movies in fact they are way better than the crap these days! The annoying thing is having to watch a movie with the damn logo in the bottom left for the entire movie!
Really nice version of this film. It's great to _see_ it and _hear_ it just as it should be. Incidentally, the kind of fog they used was later banned for it's highly carcinogenic nature!
I've been looking for this for a while. I was on a Lugosi marathon. I'm in the garage having a series of small fires so we'll see how this movie transpires, and I'll return to comment...😅
I love these old movies. Although I will say the werewolf looked a bit like a Yorkshire terrier. This movie was made in 1943 and released on January 1st, 1944.
We had a Yorkshire Terrier in Sweden, which I called Lilla Varulven (the small wolfman), but that was really the similarity with the 1935 Werewolf Of London
I don't presume I'm the only one who noticed that Doctor Walter Saunders in this film and Sir Basil Humphrey in Dracula's Daughter (1936) were the same actor, Gilbert Emery.
One other thing. At 18.35 we're shown a brief glimpse of a bomber crew member's face. he looks a lot like Bela Lugosi. I am quite old and my eyesight isn't what it was. Perhaps younger watchers with sharper eyesight would comment.
For once a 1940’s movie in which the female character isn’t an idiot needing to be rescued by a random man. Sexism made the scripts predictable and disappointing. Performances by Bela Lugosi and Frieda Inescort were impressive. Vampire movies scared the 💩 out of me back then. What a privilege to watch it decades later from an adult’s PoV!
Looks like it has returned from the grave, cleaned up and with better sound. If you can accept this modern take on Dracula or the Wolf Man (neither used here because Universal owned the rights), then why not? Lugosi was available and willing to work for Harry Cohn's wages, and the fourth wall breakage at the end is a nice twist.
Anyone bitching about the black and white does not know anything about film. This is black and white that has been digitally restored, or the film has been restored. The audio is clear and enhanced. Very clear, well done ! These are the greatest vampire films ever made. 🧛 Bela is the man !
🩸 🖤
B&W adds authenticity and charm that contemporary movies can’t attain. Such a terrible letdown when movies of this vintage are colorized. Yuck! 🤢
🥰
Nobody’s complaining about black and white lol,I just want the scream city watermark not there
Well , excuse the hell out of me .😅😅😅😅
This is s CLASSIC! Superb restoration-perfect clarity of sound and image. And THANK YOU for not colorizing the film. Movies like this should always be kept in pristine Black & White.
This is an underrated vampire movie. A hidden-gem.
Thank you so much for a great black and white film . These truly are the best.
@@makeupboss3568 Hello makeup boss , you're beautiful. 🌷🥂
Bela is DRACULA &always will. be!!!

And too bad Lon Chaney Jr. didn't play the wolfman.🐺
He is Dracula in everything but name
Plus the black and white is very nostalgic and cozy memoried to those of us who had bw 📺 tvs.
Great classic horror movie
This movie in my humble opinion is one of the greatest true Vampyr werewolf movies to come out in the 40's ! incredible sets, lighting and Gothic fog banks !
The Great Bela Lugosi
Rip to all people in this video
"R.I.P." That means "Rest In Peace". You just dashed it off so disrespectfully, I wasn't sure if you knew what it meant.
To think that if the film director had used Lon Chaney Jr as the werewolf, both he and Bela Lugosi would have been reunited once more. Nice film and entertaining. Many thanks for posting.
Perfect quality
Nothing beats these spooky, classic treasures! Columbia succeeded admirably with the same chilling atmospheric look, ala Universal horror, in films such as this! And they did it with class!
really enjoyed that, cant beat a classic

I never really thought about it that way before. GOOD POINT! Here I thought that I was just getting too old, jaded and turned off by all of the pointless modern-day gratuitous Blood & Guts!
I've never seen a modern "vampire" movie or show that wasn't complete trash. No suspense, nothing scary. Just primitive blood and gore. Lame.
This is my favourite Bela movie. Apparently the original idea was for this to be a Dracula sequel, but I guess the issue was copywright by Universal and all that nonsense. That Werewolf was actually quite cute. He reminded me of my pet dog! More of the same please. Wonderful stuff!
Wow, never seen this particular. Vampire movie before especially with Bella Lugosi very nice yes
Thank you for this video. Keep up the good work!
I didn't know this movie existed. Thank you!
This is an undiscovered gem! I thought I had seen all the 40s Bela Lugosi vampire movies.TY YT!
Excellent movie ! Thank you for sharing with us !!
I've always wanted a werewolf for a henchman (henchwolf?). Lugosi was perfect in this one! Thanks, Scream City!
and the werewolf could talk too!!!!
@@skeaneable Andreas was smarter than the average lycanthrope! 🐺
Good movie
Interesting that a single cross on a piano can make the vampire flee but standing in a graveyard with multiple crosses around him he does not even flinch ...
😂😂😂
Great movie. Lugosi is Dracula, fantastic. Enjoyed the movie, nice plot, a vampire at wartime England. Thx for upload
He's NOT exactly Dracula. Universal Pictures at the time owned the rights to the Dracula name. So Columbia had to create another name for Lugosi's character.
Nothing wrong with the B&W movies. The colorization of them should not be allowed. Its nice that companies have restored and saved them.
I love black and white, it adds to the film 🎥
Thanks for the movie 😮😅😊❤
These movies are great!
@Screamcity many thanks for posting this underrated and rarely seen (unofficial) sequel to Tod Browning’s 1931 adaptation of Stoker’s fable and Deane/ Balderston’s play

Entertaining as any movie w the Great Bela , the Man , the Vampire !!

I have NEVER seen this one . . . yet.
😂 opening scene the wolf man and the 🐕 want some wolfbrand chili.

Dracula bites 😂😂😂😂😂
yes he does and he s great at it
Appreciate you uploading this one 🧛🏻♂🩸
it's a movie Universal should have made
Dracula is supposed to be afraid of crosses yet he is a graveyard full of them
New to me. Thanks for uploading
Classic atmospheric Dracula movie
We don't really need that big icon in the lower left of the picture!!!!!!

Scotland yard detective was very tedious but apart from that great old film.
Thanks for the upload
Great mix of humor and horror.

Bravos vraiment bravos.
Billy Bevan est le fossoyeur a la moustache dans les années et 20 était comme je l ai écrit une vedette du cinéma burlesque des studios Mack Sennette.
The best Gothic drama should include moments of comedy. It emphasises the horror.
Thanks. Great fun watching
Why didn’t Bela Lugosi or Boris Karloff receive “Academy Awards”? I don’t even believe they ever were nominated.
A shame (period).
Excellent. Thank-you so much!!!
More please!
Absolutely brilliant !!
A talking werewolf and a vampire who casts his shadow. Cheesy good fun.
I'd subscribe for more like this but I found the logo in the corner too distracting, like a focal point in a painting you keep looking at it- lame!
"Now how in hell lady Jane not recognize Armont Tesla from Dr. Hugo Bruckner?. Oh I forgot she's old now".😂😂😂
Great movie thank you
This actress Nina Foch was in Spartacus and an episode of The Closer. Also i saw her in this old film noir that i cant recall as far as the title.
"There's nothing to fear as long as we have the sunlight." Proceeds to shut the mausoleum door from the inside
Great line. It's getting so it ain't even safe to be dead.
Great Classic first time seeing and really enjoyed it!!!!!
Gracias,la estoy viendo con subtítulos en español y me gustò mucho la película 🥇🍿☮️✨♥️🇲🇽👏🏻
Great print but the gigantic logo and red hand on the screen ruins it.
Just found this on my phone so I have just got it on my tablet. Looks good. Should be from Bela lugosi. .
Strange movie... Vampires and Blitz mixed up. The actress who plays the scientist is fabulous...
That was really good All the talk about the 'Lab ORRRRR a tree' where they do their work.
" I give my love to lady Jane "..... ❤
It's was alright, pretty good film 💯💯
Bela Lugosi tuxedo is presented in this movie by the Francis Scott Fitzgerald haverdasery store.

It's too bad the movie interferes with that wonderful SC logo. That's the whole reason I wanted to watch this! I LOVE that logo! 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
I love Black and white movies , Guess i'm from old school.
Great flick
Folklore vampires could walk by daylight and cast no shadow!
The film is longer than this. How do I know? I have a copy on DVD. It's longer.
runtime is 1hr 9 when you google it though
We’re Garlic if go vampire hunting or wooden steak bloody good movies old is good
Woah ads every FIVE minutes! 😢
1944. The franchise was starting to show its age.
Whats with shovels? Always got em.😅
🤔I wonder why they used the name Saunders/Tesla, instead of Van Helsing?
Probably copyright
Bela Logosi's final appearance in a film, Ed Wood's, Plan 9 from Outer Space (1957)
I don't presume I'm the only one who noticed that Doctor Walter Saunders in this film and Sir Basil Humphrey in Dracula's Daughter (1936) were the same actor, Gilbert Emery.

They all are pale compared to BELLA LUGOSI‼️♥️🦇🧛🏼♂️
Bela good
One thing that.was against the Dracula legend - the spike must be a Wooden one !

Only issue is the stupid big logo when you cast . Sticking it in the bottom corner at that size ruined it
