Boris Karloff, Vincent Price, Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Bela Lugosi, and Peter Lori. These guys were kings of acting, the original OG of horror, I am intrigued and mesmerized each and every time I watch their movies, they don't make them like this anymore.
2024 Dec. First I’ve ever seen this movie ,i remember seeing pictures in my horror mags back in the day but not seen the actual movie till now. A very nice Boris Karloff creepy tale.
The master at work, he draws you I. And before you know it the movie has been on seemingly only a while, you are that engrossed, always enjoyed Karloff films, he was a big star in his day, and here we are 74 years on watching him still
The actual name of this movie is "The Devil Commands." It is from 1941. Karloff is even more amazing once you realize he suffered major back injuries from wearing the 40+ pound Frankenstein costume. He was in constant pain for the rest of his life!!!
What a gem! I have to say I’m thrilled to read all the positive comments and realize how much he was loved. It’s true, as one person wrote..Karloff did break his back. Carrying Colin Clive up the ladder in the windmill, ..let me just say this..and it’s meant to be A FRIENDLY CHALLENGE! ok? I think I have the most extensive collection of Boris Karloff memorabilia , bar none. Will be glad to provide pics!
What the heck “Ann’s” a wimp. If my dad tried to “send me away” after that loss, I’d have to be dragged out kicking & screaming, lol. But…. I’d have also been a lot more open minded, as well as alert to all the opportunists who prey on the grieving.
the telepathic corpses! is an extraordinary idea. The plot is a bit weakened by those electrified helmets. Less sparks and more voices from beyond the grave! but the film still holds its own. And Boris Karloff... senza parole

@garryferrington811 not to correct, it's "the edge of running water", by w. Sloane, refers to the fact you can't step into a river and walk through the same water, ❤️
I love Boris Karloff. That voice.
Boris Karloff, the quintessential, often widower, mad scientist with a lovely and sane daughter

And Lon Chaney Jr.
@leshalewis1390 Yes, you're right, I forgot about him.
Can't beat these old black and white movies I just love them❤❤
Nobody conveys mad desperation better than Boris Karloff
I don't know about that.I just watched Kamala Harris.Verify trump's election.
Karloff is so charming in the opening of this movie! What a nice, sweet guy. And then...
It’s 2025 and Boris is still admired as he should be as one of the greats
Thanks for the upload.
One of the best unknown horror/Sci-fi films! Although with some obvious parallels to Frankenstein.

He had "bandy" legs, too. He was rejected for service in the first World War because of it.
neato!
The man can play anything, anywhere, anytime and I'll watch him. The best! 😎👍👍👍👍
He was good on the Red Skelton show, too.
Brilliant script and special effects for its time. Hell, anytime.
Edward Dmytryk was an A-List director. Worked with some big names in Hollywood. Big names. The biggest.
Thank you for sharing!
Thanks. Not seen this before.
Great to see this on 4K. And Karloff is the Mash.
I caught the last 15 minutes of this, 50 years ago.
Happy to watch it all.
Lovely movie
Thank you ! .. love these old flicks
😃Thank you 👍Always enjoy watching the great and talented Boris Karloff . 🥰

This movie needs a remake !!
Superb supporting actress Anne Revere (a direct descendant of Paul Revere) who played the medium miss Walters was black listed during the 'red scare".
Eu amo esses filmes antigos
This reminds me of a a H P Lovecraft story Herbert West Reaminator
The people who made that probably saw this. They were horror movie fans.

The villagers form an angry mob - been there, done that eh Boris?
Of course Boris was correct as we do it daily now.
Cool !
where’s this movie been hiding?
6:51 we can already do that. Really. We did it w/stephen hawkin, just threw a robotic voice on that mug… voila! Really we can. I promise. It’s true.
I was working in the lab...late one night
Interesting premise.
Wow! 😆

It was a graveyard smash
It was the Monster Mash
But . . . he's now gone 'full-Boris' !!
I knew this was going to be a good movie when I saw that it was approved with certificate #7003.🙄
Thanks. But the title is the DEVIL commands, not "devils commands". ❤
The original story was called "By the Edge of Running Water."

Your chiron ruins the move
I think you mean colophon. Chiron is the name of the wisest centaur in Greek mythology. 😊😊😊
You'd have got a 'like' but for that obnoxious logo distracting from the movie.
😊😊😊
She keeps going on about her father's lavatory.
Does she mean laBORAtory?
Completely unwatchable due to countless adverts.
You pay for ads on cable. But I hate ads, too.
TH-cam Premium?
It’s not the uploaded who puts the ads in, its TH-cam, money grabbing
LADY COLUMBIA !!
The GIANT Stream City logo on the side makes it unwatchable for me. I went somewhere else to watch it.
