I will absolutely get one and turn it into a General Lee. My family has been in movies during the 80s, my mom met the A-Team cast on set, and both her and I are fans of The Dukes of Hazzard. Got 2 Labrador Retrievers named after the Duke boys. Very nice video and I like the slow-mo jump clips. I'll add the Dixie horn and the sound of the engine in my future rc General Lee. I’m working on gathering parts for the same build... what exactly did you do to modify the front grill? It looks great... currently the 70 charger isn’t available. So I’m not sure what mods it needs to the grill...
Hi James. Yes these kyosho’s especially the ‘70 Dodge Charger are hard to find now. No one can keep them in stock very long. Even the body shells are either crazy expensive or non existent. All I did to modify it to look like a ‘69 is paint the chrome trim around the nose orange , blackout the grill, I had some tin lying around and cut and shaped into a grill splitter. That’s about it! Hope this helps James!
@@nitronightmares9422 if you get on eBay search, look up “1/10 General Lee decals” there are quite a few printing business that print these to the size application you need. Awe thank you! That means so much to hear! The Vector wheels were 3D printed by a man in England. I have no other contact info other than this email he gave me about 5 yrs ago. The rims cost me about $75 shipped then. If he is still making them they may be more expensive now. As far as the ram bar, I made it at home with stuff we had in the junk drawer. A couple of drilled out steering links, and and some window blind mounting tabs, glued and screwed together then riveted to the body and painted black. Chris allen , actually Chris, I searched everywhere, Amazon, E-bay, Banggood, Gearbest, for a scale looking push bar with no luck. I looked into purchasing a used 1/10 scale General Lee on eBay made my Malibu Intl. but couldn’t justify paying over $100 for one, just to take the push bar off of it. So reached out to “movie man” on TH-cam and he said he modified his push bar from a Malibu International car that he already owned.BTW, his car looks amazing! Well anyway, I found some plastic curtain blind holders, cut them to the shape of the Push bar retainers( the sides of the push bar.) drilled them out. Then I found some old Rc parts I had laying around, ( plastic linkage rods) I carefully drilled the ends out and riveted them inside the plastic retainers I made. I had a piece of black plastic that I cut to size and riveted and epoxied to the kyosho body and to the push bar. I painted the white curtain rod retainers I used with a black paint marker and voila! A push bar! So far it is holding up! I don’t think It would hold up to a head on collision, LOL! But from a foot or more away , it looks acceptable, but not perfect. I really just wanted to find one pre made that fit, but failing to find one just forced me to get creative which is a good thing and saved me a lot of $. Thanks for watching and reaching out to me. Im 19 an grew up watching this show and i have a 1/12 scale body that i trimmed the fenders on to fit a hellcat piranha but what i truly want is what u have identical to the show as far as looks but can handle a lil off-road driving. how much did it cost you?
Hey Pedro! Thanks for watching bro! You can find these kyosho MK2 Fazers at either Tower hobbies or Horizon Hobby and also on e-bay for as low as $219. They were out of stock till late December last time I checked a few weeks ago. Definitely worth the $$. Built tough as nails! Decal was about $12.00 on e-bay, and tires were $32.00 and while the rims cost a hefty $73.00 shipped. All well worth it! My son loves it. I will be doing a video on it up close in a couple weeks. @movie man JLK Thanks a lot, we painted the chrome around the grill orange and painted the headlight covers black to get rid of the chrome on it, then we found a little metal type of material and cut it and bent it to fit in the middle of the grill to get that split separating the left and right headlight cover, then my dad made the push bar with his genius ness out of more durable material, not sure how he did it but he did and it looks great!

Yes it handles grass, gravel and Sandy roads quite well! As well as some light to moderate size jumps . Haven’t had any issues with this yet, except for replacing the bearings in the hubs, because my son ran this in the winter time on heavily salted roads and didn’t clean it well enough and re-oil the hub bearings. Accidentally ordered ones that were too narrow for the tires we had. We squeezed them on and glued them in good. Their still holding!😝 it’s been a great car so far! Well, I did order a traxxas push bar. Tried to make it work, but it’s way to big and heavy for this car. I was going to cut the push bar up and remake it to a size and weight that would fit, but I don’t own a welder or a brazer, so I just ended up making one from old Rc dog bones and plastic I had laying around and riveted purses together. It came out ok. Mounted it to the body shell instead of the frame, so it’s very light. It’s seems to be holding together pretty darn ok so far. LoL! I hope this helps! Hi Zan! Thanks for watching my friend! Just had a small piece of tin hanging around, which I snipped and bent to look like a grille splitter and glued it on. Colored the originally chrome grille with a black paint marker. Came out ok, but not perfect! Hope this helps bro!❤️🍻👊🏼

@@BangForYourBuckRc if you need to you can pay services to print things for you as well so if you wanted to make a new body or something you could pay to have these parts printed by services like shapeways.com i believe. but since your build is done i’m sure it’s not a priority. if you do get your hands on a printer check out Franklybuilt, he does mainly iron man cosplay stuff but the skills are transferable and he’s helped me a lot. and all you need for a printer is a decent laptop and you can get started for about $200
@@jasonice1584 If you wanted to make it rear wheel drive , you’d have to pull out the drive shaft or remove the front cvd’s . Probably removing cvd’s would be best

Nathaniel Waters, thank you for the comment and the compliment! And Happy Holidays bro! Wasn’t too hard. Kyosho sells a 1970 model of the Legendary Dodge Charger . I changed the front chrome nose pieces to look like a 69. Found some Scale decals to fit this car on E-bay, researched for almost 6 mos. to find a source on where I can get these wheels which are 3D printed replicas of the original Vector wheels used on the real General. Painted them up, made a push bar out of some plastic things I had laying around the house and “voila” a ‘69 General Lee! Yee Haaa! There are quite a few now on TH-cam. I picked the brains of these guys and told them I was interested in making one for my son, and they all were very helpful. If you want more in depth resources just let me know and I would be glad to help! Glad you liked it. My son sure does!

Thanks for the question Labramike! I made the push bar out of a couple broken Rc car suspension links that I had kicking around. I drilled them out on both sides. I then found some plastic window blind retainers, I cut those up to look like the sides of the push bar and drilled 2 holes per side on those. I riveted the cut out window blind retainers to the ends of the plastic suspension links that I had previously drilled out . Then I found a piece of durable black plastic sheathing, cut it out in the shape of a skid plate and mounted my push bar onto it and then to car shell with tiny rivets. Oh yes , also painted push bar separately before mounting. It came out ok. It’s holding up. From a distance it better, up close it’s a little rough. Looked all over the place for one one other models, but it wasn’t worth the price to buy the whole Rc vehicle just for the push bar. People want crazy money for these general Lee Rc models and I just couldn’t afford them, so I made mine.Wheels are 3D printed from a guy in London England. About $79 for the four. Right now Elliot, they are out of stock every where man. On back order. But , when ( or if) they do come back you’ll be able to find them at Horizon Hobby , and tower hobby. It’s a kyosho FAZER. It comes as 1970 Dodge Charger. I just made a few subtle changes to turn it into a ‘69. Also added decals which I got on ebay, and made a push bar which is mounted to the body. Wheels are by bluant Over in England. Thank you for your question. If you need more detail just let me know.
I bought a TRX4 push bar to try it and it was way too big and too heavy. If you took that push bar and cut a 1/2 inch out down the middle and re welded it together it might work better. Wish they sold them for 1/10 scale cars and sedans. Something not so robust and heavy would be good. A lot of people use the push bar that came with toy grade general Lee made by Malibu Intl. and made it to fit there own personal project General Lee. eBay has these Rc cars, but sellers want big money for them. I couldn’t justify it. Hope this helps.

I feel like I looked everywhere too! But I finally contacted a person on eBay, who was selling a custom general Lee Rc car, which had amazing custom vector wheels on it just like the real deal did. This guy told me that a guy in England custom 3D prints them and sells them unpainted every now and then. So I got him to share with me the guys e-mail address. They are kind of pricy , but I think they are worth it. Even if I had to paint by them myself. Shipped to my door they were almost $80 . His prices may have changed since, so I’m not sure what he’s getting for them now, or if he even still makes them. His E-mail address was bluant01@icloud.com his name is Tony. Hope this helps! The vector wheels were 3D printed by a gentleman in England that I believe goes by bluant01. At the time when I purchased the wheels they were ~ $72 US. Could be more or less now. I hope I helped. The Kyosho model mentioned above is on back order everywhere at the moment, and people are gouging the heck out of used models. New, they run about $230 US. Hope you can find one. Kyosho makes other models that use the same chassis. If you could locate a Dodge Charger body, you’d be 3/4 of the way there! 👊🏼👍🏻Let me know if I can help some more😁

I will absolutely get one and turn it into a General Lee. My family has been in movies during the 80s, my mom met the A-Team cast on set, and both her and I are fans of The Dukes of Hazzard. Got 2 Labrador Retrievers named after the Duke boys. Very nice video and I like the slow-mo jump clips. I'll add the Dixie horn and the sound of the engine in my future rc General Lee. I’m working on gathering parts for the same build... what exactly did you do to modify the front grill? It looks great... currently the 70 charger isn’t available. So I’m not sure what mods it needs to the grill...
Hi James. Yes these kyosho’s especially the ‘70 Dodge Charger are hard to find now. No one can keep them in stock very long. Even the body shells are either crazy expensive or non existent. All I did to modify it to look like a ‘69 is paint the chrome trim around the nose orange , blackout the grill, I had some tin lying around and cut and shaped into a grill splitter. That’s about it! Hope this helps James!

@@nitronightmares9422 if you get on eBay search, look up “1/10 General Lee decals” there are quite a few printing business that print these to the size application you need. Awe thank you! That means so much to hear! The Vector wheels were 3D printed by a man in England. I have no other contact info other than this email he gave me about 5 yrs ago. The rims cost me about $75 shipped then. If he is still making them they may be more expensive now. As far as the ram bar, I made it at home with stuff we had in the junk drawer. A couple of drilled out steering links, and and some window blind mounting tabs, glued and screwed together then riveted to the body and painted black. where did u get that push bar im making a general lee and i have been looking for a nice push bar...ur car looks really good
Chris allen , actually Chris, I searched everywhere, Amazon, E-bay, Banggood, Gearbest, for a scale looking push bar with no luck. I looked into purchasing a used 1/10 scale General Lee on eBay made my Malibu Intl. but couldn’t justify paying over $100 for one, just to take the push bar off of it. So reached out to “movie man” on TH-cam and he said he modified his push bar from a Malibu International car that he already owned.BTW, his car looks amazing! Well anyway, I found some plastic curtain blind holders, cut them to the shape of the Push bar retainers( the sides of the push bar.) drilled them out. Then I found some old Rc parts I had laying around, ( plastic linkage rods) I carefully drilled the ends out and riveted them inside the plastic retainers I made. I had a piece of black plastic that I cut to size and riveted and epoxied to the kyosho body and to the push bar. I painted the white curtain rod retainers I used with a black paint marker and voila! A push bar! So far it is holding up! I don’t think It would hold up to a head on collision, LOL! But from a foot or more away , it looks acceptable, but not perfect. I really just wanted to find one pre made that fit, but failing to find one just forced me to get creative which is a good thing and saved me a lot of $. Thanks for watching and reaching out to me. Im 19 an grew up watching this show and i have a 1/12 scale body that i trimmed the fenders on to fit a hellcat piranha but what i truly want is what u have identical to the show as far as looks but can handle a lil off-road driving. how much did it cost you?
Hey Pedro! Thanks for watching bro! You can find these kyosho MK2 Fazers at either Tower hobbies or Horizon Hobby and also on e-bay for as low as $219. They were out of stock till late December last time I checked a few weeks ago. Definitely worth the $$. Built tough as nails! Decal was about $12.00 on e-bay, and tires were $32.00 and while the rims cost a hefty $73.00 shipped. All well worth it! My son loves it. I will be doing a video on it up close in a couple weeks. @movie man JLK Thanks a lot, we painted the chrome around the grill orange and painted the headlight covers black to get rid of the chrome on it, then we found a little metal type of material and cut it and bent it to fit in the middle of the grill to get that split separating the left and right headlight cover, then my dad made the push bar with his genius ness out of more durable material, not sure how he did it but he did and it looks great!

Yes it handles grass, gravel and Sandy roads quite well! As well as some light to moderate size jumps . Haven’t had any issues with this yet, except for replacing the bearings in the hubs, because my son ran this in the winter time on heavily salted roads and didn’t clean it well enough and re-oil the hub bearings. Accidentally ordered ones that were too narrow for the tires we had. We squeezed them on and glued them in good. Their still holding!😝 it’s been a great car so far! Well, I did order a traxxas push bar. Tried to make it work, but it’s way to big and heavy for this car. I was going to cut the push bar up and remake it to a size and weight that would fit, but I don’t own a welder or a brazer, so I just ended up making one from old Rc dog bones and plastic I had laying around and riveted purses together. It came out ok. Mounted it to the body shell instead of the frame, so it’s very light. It’s seems to be holding together pretty darn ok so far. LoL! I hope this helps! No worries James, your not bugging me😜🤪🤘🏻✌🏻👍🏻

Hi Zan! Thanks for watching my friend! Just had a small piece of tin hanging around, which I snipped and bent to look like a grille splitter and glued it on. Colored the originally chrome grille with a black paint marker. Came out ok, but not perfect! Hope this helps bro!❤️🍻👊🏼

@@BangForYourBuckRc if you need to you can pay services to print things for you as well so if you wanted to make a new body or something you could pay to have these parts printed by services like shapeways.com i believe. but since your build is done i’m sure it’s not a priority. if you do get your hands on a printer check out Franklybuilt, he does mainly iron man cosplay stuff but the skills are transferable and he’s helped me a lot. and all you need for a printer is a decent laptop and you can get started for about $200

Nathaniel Waters, thank you for the comment and the compliment! And Happy Holidays bro! Wasn’t too hard. Kyosho sells a 1970 model of the Legendary Dodge Charger . I changed the front chrome nose pieces to look like a 69. Found some Scale decals to fit this car on E-bay, researched for almost 6 mos. to find a source on where I can get these wheels which are 3D printed replicas of the original Vector wheels used on the real General. Painted them up, made a push bar out of some plastic things I had laying around the house and “voila” a ‘69 General Lee! Yee Haaa! There are quite a few now on TH-cam. I picked the brains of these guys and told them I was interested in making one for my son, and they all were very helpful. How did u make the bumper and got the rims?
Thanks for the question Labramike! I made the push bar out of a couple broken Rc car suspension links that I had kicking around. I drilled them out on both sides. I then found some plastic window blind retainers, I cut those up to look like the sides of the push bar and drilled 2 holes per side on those. I riveted the cut out window blind retainers to the ends of the plastic suspension links that I had previously drilled out . Then I found a piece of durable black plastic sheathing, cut it out in the shape of a skid plate and mounted my push bar onto it and then to car shell with tiny rivets. Oh yes , also painted push bar separately before mounting. It came out ok. It’s holding up. From a distance it better, up close it’s a little rough. Looked all over the place for one one other models, but it wasn’t worth the price to buy the whole Rc vehicle just for the push bar. People want crazy money for these general Lee Rc models and I just couldn’t afford them, so I made mine.Wheels are 3D printed from a guy in London England. About $79 for the four. Im thinking about getting the fazer mk2 in a moment and ofcourse to transform it into the general as well. Good thing im also a nerd and have a 3D printer. It’s a kyosho FAZER. It comes as 1970 Dodge Charger. I just made a few subtle changes to turn it into a ‘69. Also added decals which I got on ebay, and made a push bar which is mounted to the body. Wheels are by bluant Over in England. Thank you for your question. If you need more detail just let me know.

I bought a TRX4 push bar to try it and it was way too big and too heavy. If you took that push bar and cut a 1/2 inch out down the middle and re welded it together it might work better. Wish they sold them for 1/10 scale cars and sedans. Something not so robust and heavy would be good. A lot of people use the push bar that came with toy grade general Lee made by Malibu Intl. and made it to fit there own personal project General Lee. eBay has these Rc cars, but sellers want big money for them. I couldn’t justify it. Hope this helps.

But you could purchase the Chevelle version and also by the Charger body (which would fit) and is available. Or you could wait for it to come back in stock. I feel like I looked everywhere too! But I finally contacted a person on eBay, who was selling a custom general Lee Rc car, which had amazing custom vector wheels on it just like the real deal did. This guy told me that a guy in England custom 3D prints them and sells them unpainted every now and then. So I got him to share with me the guys e-mail address. They are kind of pricy , but I think they are worth it. Even if I had to paint by them myself. Shipped to my door they were almost $80 . His prices may have changed since, so I’m not sure what he’s getting for them now, or if he even still makes them. His E-mail address was bluant01@icloud.com his name is Tony. Hope this helps! The vector wheels were 3D printed by a gentleman in England that I believe goes by bluant01. At the time when I purchased the wheels they were ~ $72 US. Could be more or less now. I hope I helped. The Kyosho model mentioned above is on back order everywhere at the moment, and people are gouging the heck out of used models. New, they run about $230 US. Hope you can find one. Kyosho makes other models that use the same chassis. If you could locate a Dodge Charger body, you’d be 3/4 of the way there! 👊🏼👍🏻Let me know if I can help some more😁
