I make die stamps for the leather belt and watch strap industry in the USA. Fine leather and exotic leathers as well. Much better than these products and work environments.
The company featured in the video is an American company, called Circa, and much of their tooling is supplied by BIBO, an Italian firm who is possibly the Rolls Royce in making tools and dies for leathergoods manufacturers.

So many strange comments about "Chinese" made belts and how it's so "obvious" that the product shown is rubbish and the workers are slaves.
The company featured is, in fact, American (it's called Circa), and the workshop that is shown in the video is located in San Francisco.

The company is a relatively successful American business, and their workshop (as shown in the video) is located in San Francisco. They've done work for Ralph Lauren and the US Olympic teams, so I assume that both their work and conditions are quite good.
Uh... Craftsman and craftswoman might be a stretch. These are thin garbage belts, and it's only a small miracle they are made from leather and not cardboard.
Real belts are strong and heavy duty straps meant for work, and the good ones are two layers of alternating grained leather, glued, and stitched. They have removable buckles and Chicago screw hardware.
These are Chinese crap belts that will stretch and fall apart.

The belts are fine. Also the workshop shown isn't in China. It's in San Francisco. The company is called Circa and they've been manufacturing in the US since the 1960s.
They're fashion belts, still a step above the cheaper faux-leather, bonded leather or "genuine" leather belts we see in most department stores that *actually* come from China.
These are at least made in the USA from full grain leather, they're not particularly note worthy but they are made in the USA which is a rarity now a days. So I'd give them that at least.
Wouldn't buy one myself, I got a proper full grain belt, 1/4th inch thick with Chicago screws from a company in Indiana. Durable as all heck, no wear to speak of aside from some leather patina from something that hasn't been dyed.
