They are able to still make it, but not sold in the USA. It can continue to be sold over seas, there is an article that explains the patent Misti has and it doesn't cover international like Europe hence the reason Tonic can continue to sell the platforms there..
I love the TH platform. I have three - one standard and two travel size. The only time I had a problem is when I inadvertently got the magnets in the way of the guard rails on the lid, so I try to watch that now. I haven't had any problems otherwise. I think some of the clear stamps from non brand companies are thinner, however, so sometimes an added piece of paper may help, but so far, so good for me! Thanks for your video!
I have both the mini-Misti (I think? Its the 5x7) and the travel sized Tim Holtz that I found at a Tuesday Morning. I do use both, but honestly, I like the Tim Holtz one better. I love that the TH one has the open top and side, so I can still stamp on the odd-sized/over-sized papers. It also works much better with the bulkier foam-backed rubber stamps because of the flip-top lid.
I have the travel sized one and love it. I too am a mixed media crafter and find that the travel sized one has no issues except if you stamp too close to the magnet or the raised edges but it doesn't bother me one bit. Use double sided tape and use your fingers to make it less sticky to hold ypur paper if you're using a huge stamp.
I do love both of my TH platforms. I did put a piece of fun foam in each and switched the lid to Rubber and that helped me. Price point was good for me versa the Misti. Sad that they had this happen. Just sad.
I am VERY disappointed that they are not able to make these any longer, very upset that the misti people are suing over copyright stuff, but I guess that is business, or at least that is what some people think business is. I was gifted a mini misti, and I do use it, mostly for doing sentiments and small stamps. I also have the full size tim holtz platform, which I use for larger stamps as well as for all of my rubber stamps or any time I am stamping directly into a journal. I lov that you can stamp multiple times if needed to get a darker image, or when I was doing xmas cards and making multiple cards with the same stamp. having a stamp platform makes it so much easier. TFS.
Surprise to hear that they don't make the travel size anymore. I love mine, it's the regular size. What I like most about it is I can stamp the image over and over again until I am happy, also I can stamp on any sizes of paper, unlike the Misti.

This doesn't look like the misty one does it. I thought those where a different shape with an enclosing rim.

Nice to know good info...
Are they discontinueing both?
Unfortunatly yes.
@@Crafty-xy4or why? These are great. I have the travel one and was considering where I needed the full size.
I heard something about patent infringement. Designed owned by another brand. I could be mistaken though
Check out www.scrapbook.com/ They had the travel one on sale for 19.99 and the regular for like 34.99
I got the travel one
