I remember when the official song dropped, and I watched this video for the first time. I experienced such a wave of emotion when Tatiana first walked on stage, I got the goosebumps and this happy feeling, and I got a tear in my eye. Tatiana's stage presence is at a supernatural level.
Funny you found this looking for Josh since he also mixed this video. And yes, Josh is also doing harmonies with Courtney in this song (and has a bunch of parts on other songs). As for Spiritbox doing live videos, they released this, then from the same show "Soft Spine" with Poppy, and then from another show "Angel Eyes" with no guest singers, just Courtney destroying everything. So they went from no live videos to three in a month. And I agree that Tatiana has a "larger than life" presence, though... this is not a great song to feature Courtney's own similar presence since she doesn't deliver everything she has in her tool bag. Some people watch this and think "Oh, now I know what Courtney does" and you'd be wrong. Watch more stuff. She has like 12 screams and 7 cleans.
Thanks for commenting ☺️🙏 To be honest, I definitely need more of this and live videos in this quality are the absolute best. I wouldn’t want to judge a band by one song, but I like that the show (at least) two facets, that heavy start and that quiet chorus part, the end gives me goosebumps every time. Just a bit sad that I have to go on youtube for this version. 😂 Other two you mention go on my list. :) Maybe I should start with the song without a guest singer and I don’t know who ‘Poppy’ is. 😅
@@kaNjiXIII Amazing reaction! Subbed! I didn't know who Poppy was either, but the Spiritbox/Poppy "Soft Spine" is another one I've watched 70 times in the past few weeks. If you like...surprising female vocals, check out Hanabie from Japan (they don't have a bad song, but "We Love Sweets" or "Pardon Me, I Have to Go Now" are good places to start).
Spiritbox is a great band and well worth the time to explore and react to their material. Tatiana has done a number of collaborations with other groups and I recommend checking them out. My favourite is "Over and Out" (OMV) with 12 Foot Ninja. If you don't know or you haven't already done a reaction to it yet, I highly suggest reacting to it. Good reaction (Subbed)
Thank you for all the great suggestions, will do my best to check all of it out, once I got more time on my hands. Definitely need more Spiritbox and I don't now '12 Foot Ninja', hell of a name tho. hahaha
Also Courtney was the second lead singer of Iwrestledabearonce, she took over after Krysta Cameron left in 2012! So she’s got plenty experience :)) her and Mike Stringer were both from IWABO, married in 2016, now formed Spiritbox in 2017!
Oh my god! 'Iwrestledabearonce' is a name I haven't heard in a while, but I remember them from back in the day, I know they were famous back then for having a female screamer. While it is still not so common, back in the days it was so rare. I think I even was on a show once, but no clue who was the singer back then. :)
spiritbox is my favorite band, always wanted to see tati with them! theyve got a mix of songs varying from full screams to full cleans. my recommendations would be jaded, rule of nines and holy roller. Holy roller is the song people go crazy for at every concert. Very heavy. Rule of nines has a onetake on youtube thats good. spiritbox' singer is courtney laplante. guitarist is her husband mike stringer. drummer is zev rose who joined when he was 18 or 19. bassist you know.
Spiritbox are definitely a rabbit hole worth diving into. I'm sure other commenters have made all the great suggestions. The singer is Courtney La Plante and she's a monster who can break your heart then rip your face off. All that said, I really enjoyed your reaction. Subbing to see where else and what else you do. EDIT: Actually, I'm wrong, other commentors haven't offered many places to look to see what Spritbox do. One of my personal favourites is a slightly older song called 'Bleach Bath'. Check it out, it's as good a place as any to start.
Thank you so much for taking the time and also suggesting more, I'm really looking forward to more Spiritbox, I really would like to continue with more from that show, I like the vibe and the filming, I think the songs mentioned were something like 'Angel Eyes' and 'Soft Spine' although one song has another feature with someone I don't know. :) Also I think they released a complete new song, in the last days. Depending on how much time I have in the next days, that's were I would go to. Also a good thing to have an older song to comparison as well, so I'll keep 'Bleach Bath' in mind. I would like to do so much more, but just don't have the time right now. Hope you having a great day. :)
I didn’t really get Spiritbox at first, mainly because of what you said about the chorus being “quiet”. I found myself wanting more out of Courtney’s clean vocals, but there is definitely an appeal to the calmness of them after getting used to it! I sort of view it like trance music, the synths and drums can be loud and complex but the soothing voice on top of it makes it so zen and it’s cool. It’s so awesome to me how Spiritbox is sort of a metal version of that!
Definitely something unique they have there, looking forward to seeing more of them. :) Yea, I see what you mean, not really into that kind of music, but I understand your take. Also I liked the synths they used. :)
@@jsavage71 I didn’t just mean volume, but also power and tone, as Courtney generally tends to sing in a calmer, more soothing/soft tone which juxtaposes nicely with her harsh vocals. I thought the tone and general vibe of her voice is what the reactor meant by “quiet”, so that’s why I described it as such :)) Tati is sometimes calm, but tends to belt and sing with more force than Courtney often does, there was a problem with her mic which is why the mixing was corrected in this video!
Lots miss it but Josh harmonizes with both Court and Tati. Some reason Michael edited Josh out of most the video lol. Do yourself a favor watch the live proshot of Soft Spine and Angel Eyes too.
So from what I've read. Josh doesn't want to do much except play with them. The guitarist Mike writes the songs. They barely got josh to do backing vocals. He has other side things he's does. I do wish he would do more dominant vocal parts. I miss his vocals

I can imagine, it's such a powerful song and Tatiana just adds so much to it as well,
By the way, you pronounced Tatiana's last name almost perfect, better than most non-slavic people as far as I heard.
Oh, thank you for telling me, that actually just put a little smile on my face.

Holy Roller was the song that hooked me in to Spiritbox, super heavy and has such a great dark video.

I'm just happy I was alone when I heard this, I was as giddy as a10yr old schoolgirl when Tatiana growled!! btw I'm a 6'1" 250lbs man!!🤣🤣
Haha, that's what she does xD
Epic duet!
I think one of the best I've ever seen.
you have to react to jinjer songs again......please
I would like to suggest "audiotree from nothing"...... It's like an interview where they talk about their career and play 3 songs.
Will do :) and what the hell? that sounds amazing, need to check that out, thank you so much for suggesting it.

OMFG
Yes!
the metal colab of the year
I think so too, I wish that version would be on Spotify. :D
If you want to see and hear Courtney going to full on beast mode try watching the live performance of their song Angel Eyes that they just released.
100%
Perfect! Thank you so much for the suggestion, is it from the same show?
@@kaNjiXIII No, it is from one of those shows they opened for Korn.
uh, also nice, but I really like the Black and White of this video. :)

So true.

There are fan videos of this show & Court is much louder & Tati much lower. Josh brought Court down & Tati up in the mix.
