Though the Pixel can be had for closer to $500 now. You will see in the comments hardcore Moto fans bemoaning this review, but for them it may be okay, but the truth is that it is not very good.
I think it's less expensive than Samsung, the software is definitely better than Samsung's bloated software experience trying really hard to be like Apple. Also the 2020 edge plus in display fingerprint reader was terrible and the side mounted reader is probably way faster and more reliable. Having a charging brick in the box is also a huge overlooked convenience. You can't complain about the Moto omitting the headphone jack if the Samsung you recommend also doesn't have one and hasn't for many years. As far as the cameras are concerned maybe the phone needs some updates but they will more than likely come and improve things significantly.

125watt charging too
@@akash44100 Yeah, although I prefer slower charging better for the battery and you can just charge it overnight anyway
@@harryvlogs7833 its an option. You can use a normal 5 watt charger too, but you need to get it at your cost tho(Not to mention it would be very cheap)
True, but he is reviewing the Edge+ and it is pretty meh for the price. I think at $1000 it represents bad value and I see it more a Pixel 6 competitor at around $600. Though the Pixel can be had for closer to $500 now. You will see in the comments hardcore Moto fans bemoaning this review, but for them it may be okay, but the truth is that it is not very good.
the previous edge had a snapdragon 778 processor less than the Moto g100 you just stick with Samsung or Google
Nowadays it's kind of worth it if you buy it renewed
do anyone use phone for 5 years? ??? why caring about 5 years of updates? ? in that time it will be old junk hardware.....
I use a phone for 5 years
I think it's less expensive than Samsung, the software is definitely better than Samsung's bloated software experience trying really hard to be like Apple.
Its probably only gonna get 1 year worth of updates
3 years of software updates and 4 years of security updates.
Glass + Cracks I use a case so I dont need the back of a phone looking pretty . I never understood why something that could fall would be made of glass
Spot on. I wanna stick with moto so bad but not gonna happen with this phone. Why do they take away the good stuff and add junk.
The edges are actually metal (underneath the thin plastic later)
I most definitely get 5G with AT&t on this phone.
Disappointing I'm sure they will blame Covid like every one else does. Everybody's making a habit of getting substandard quality
I just got it for $500 July 4th, 2023
Google never should have sold off Motorola
Word
Pixel is not giving 5 yrs of support and Samsung is only doing s21 series and up woth 4 yrs support
Google offers 3 years of OS updates and 5 years security updates
@@LOUISVILLECARDINALS I guess what I mean by support is the OS upgrades and not the security updates.
Wow.. Awesome review. Thanks 👍👍👍
It's good you didn't get last year's edge 20 Pro that had a five times optical zoom and 108 megapixel main as you would really complain from the downgrade
Where's the z line? Moto sounds dead, too bad I enjoyed the z mods
guess what? In China you only have to pay $550 for the most high end specs. But in the U.S. you have to pay $900.
A few weeks ago it was selling for $499.
you forgot apple..
These newer ones feel like plastic fantastic toys compared to their older phones .
They should switch to MediaTek chips and spend more budget on cameras, these days only gaming phones are allowed to have trash camera
Worst Android reviews ever here . They should just play in the corner with their itoys ✋🤮
Exactly...all the s22+ night photos have lens flare issues but the reviewer just ignores it😂
💯👏🏻
call recording saport and not notification
That's funny. I get 5g on att
You nailed it with this review.
no, his review sucked like everything else from engaget..
Awesome review 👍
They offered less and charged more. It's the same as their budget phones, they always offered less.
call recording saport fon
the camera is over contrasted too
I just wanted a speaker jack 😧
As an iPhone user waxing nostalgic over all the weird and unique green bubble phones (some of which I owned) from back in the day, to see this being released after so many better than average phones from Moto is kind of disheartening. Now, it seems like if you wanted something unique, your only choice is a Pixel, since every pleb gets a Samedung. I kinda feel bad for you guys.
feel bad for urself bro ur the one using a iphone lol like my grandmother and my moms lmfao no iphone can touch my samsung galaxy S21 ULTRA same way a Toyota camry can't touch a Ferrari
Such a shitty phone. Your insane if you buy moto.
It's not shitty like the Samsung S22 series and S22 Ultra.
@@DeadofWinter321 atleast s22 supports mmwave on all carriers unlike this shitty ass moto edge bullshit. Forreal do you like no getting mmwave on t-mobile and att. Also no 5g support for att. Moto is trash lmao. Also no telephoto my s20 from 2020 had that.
@@bandrew8040 - Telephoto lens is a gimmick. The Moto Edge+ doesn't need that. Plus Motorola's UI is as close as you get to that premium Stock Android experience you get with the Pixels. And it has Call Screening, Hold For Me, Now Playing, Direct My Call just like the Pixels. No silly Samsung has that.
@@bandrew8040 - You get more bang for your buck with the Edge+. The latest offerings from Samsung? Not so much (if at all). The vastly overpriced S22 Ultra is borderline a joke.
OnePlus 10 Pro is much better and a good replacement to the Samsung S22 Ultra.
What a shame of them axing the jack. That's Moto off the list
You are quite right. Motorola budget phones are better than their flagship phones
Nice joke 🤣
This phone sucks lol I was very disappointed in it. It's a good home tablet not a personal phone you take places. it's a 4 to 500 $ max not the 900 I paid for it
It sounds like absolutely negative
I returned it even not opened box after watched it
Interesting.
IT IS CALLED THE EDGE AND DOESN'T HAVE A CURVED DISPLAY
tbh that's an instantaneous dealbreaker. glad motorola doesnt sell in the us. well it does, but they never send any of the GOOD devices our way so no one buys them here.=
Well its the 3rd largest smartphone brand in the US
@@akash44100 only because people in America buy their cheap ass phones nobody in the US is buying Motorola phones when they like great specs and top notch software
They were buying them like it was gold a couple weeks ago when they were selling at $499 for the Motorola Edge Plus 2022 and $350 for the Motorola Edge 2022.
I just bought a new one for $199
a user from China,moto sucks
Hell yes they do
Yea so Samsung flagship phones 📱 die way too fast!!! They need a phone charge every few hours
I don't like how we have normalized saying things like "premium experience" or that we're using server space, bandwidth, electricity, a host of other resources so someone can, while taking themselves seriously all the while and not see how ridiculousness and narrow-minded entitled and selfish the whole thing is, will make a video where they somehow think it's a problem that their $1000 phone takes messed up pictures of fruit in a bowl compared to this other phone that takes way better pictures of fruit in a bowl that nobody will ever notice anyways.
There are kids right this minute getting taken somewhere to make someone money by selling them to other people for their unspeakably depraved evil. But yeah, Motorola sucks because their camera makes oranges look unrealistically orange. How can we complain about ANYTHING when we're wasting and taking for granted all of it?! You have $1000 to spend on a phone you don't need. You have food in a bowl that's serving as a decoration instead of something that you're actually going to eat, and probably just throw away. I can't listen to whiners and complainers that already have everything and don't even appreciate it anymore, let alone acknowledge it.
Well it's under $1,000 now.
