Steve talks about how he found Gru’s iconic voice, which “The Office” episode was the funniest to film, and so much more. I've watched a few of these and in most of them, the crew are tossing treats at the guest so the puppies will go to them. But this man has gravity. They are naturally drawn to him.
I absolutely love how he makes sure to pet the pup who is not in his lap for the majority of the video! So thoughtful & precious. It says a lot about who he is.

The fact that the puppies fell asleep almost immediately goes to show what a beautiful heart and soul Steve Carell has. Animals are much smarter than we know and pick up on things like that. :) I would love meet and work with Steve some day. :)

to be fair these are the youngest puppies i’ve ever seen in these interviews. of course they fell asleep.

I mean... He is a great guy, but you guys really read a lot into puppies falling asleep.
When I got to get a dog from a neighbour who had a litter and couldn't keep all of them, I looked at all the puppies at the same time, sat on the floor to play with them and all and they all fell asleep either in my arm, or right next to me eventually. They are babies. And dogs on top of that. They sleep for about 18 hours a day. Newborn puppies sleep up to 20 hours. These puppies in the video are only a few weeks old, so they *will* fall asleep, no matter who's with them. It has nothing to do with them picking up on anything.
Adult dogs, yes sure they won't fall asleep, if they don't trust you, but not puppies.
This man clearly has an angelic heart. The way he treats the puppies says a lot about him. He is instinctively gentle and responsive!

So many other celebrities get super excited and have so much energy when they see the puppies, which is totally to be expected, but I feel the reason they puppies were so calm and fell asleep with Steve was because he was immediately calm with them, whipsering to them and just had a super chill energy with them.
