This is really interesting! I’m starting to think, that looong time ago some prototype of a flood story was made up and it somehow travelled thhrough different nations and altered. Now, how could it reach America from Europe/Asia? Well there is a hypothesis that people migrated from Asia to America theough Bering Strait (Alaska) back when when the sea levels were lower and there used to be a land there. I think this explantion makes more sense than Europen sailors bringing the story to America in 16th century AD, as some suggested here, because by that time Aztecs, Mayans etc. were fully developed civilizations and by then their creation stories would probably be made up and estblished long time ago.

Beej Price Hello from 2020! This video is actually really inaccurate. The earth was created from a monster called Tlaltecuhtli, which was destroyed by Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcoatl. Tezcatlipoca later became the sun, but his rein was ended with jaguars. Quetzalcoatl became the second sun but his rein ended with a hurricane. Tlaloc was the third sun and his rein ended with fire. Chalchiuthlicue was the fourth sun and her rein ended with the flood in the video (not caused by Quetzalcoatl). The fifth and current sun is Huitzilipochtli. The myth in the video is somewhat similar but earth already existed with a lot of animals and some humans which is why there was a ball of feathers. In the actual myth Coatlicue got pregnant from a ball of humming bird feathers, and her children got angry. Of course, his tomb became a place of pilgrimage for our people until they neglected their contract, abounded their words sealed and signed by their Kings, desecrated his tumb and built a Catholic church on top of his bones. They did not learn from the past and Spanish blood started to inundate the land again until they discovered the perfect weapon to submit our rage and destroy our race...the biological weapon of decease used to genocide our people all over the Americas.
Now you know why the sea surrounding our Islands is not called today the Taino sea but it acquired the name of the Caribbean Sea because of all the years of suffering by millions of people from both sides of the conflict shedding their blood-fighting courageously for a just and Godly cause... to protect the lives and future of our people in the continents.
