- Its not the first time I've said it - but today's lunch feast absolutely seals the deal - Hat Yai is undoubtedly the Heavyweight Champion of all things Deliciously THAI (and after today's meal, I also have a NEW favorite restaurant in Thailand).
To say that this restaurant is "worth the trip to Hat Yai, just to have this meal" is fun... but actually DOING it is even much more fun still!! Two weeks later, we do just that,* but of course you first have to see the original story in all its glory.
(**with Mark, with Dwight, with Jeffrey and with Abraham... and what a 48-hour trip it is!!!)
In today's video, you can learn with us about 2 amazing recipes, both of the main types of this dish "Meat Bone Tea" (or 'Bak Kut Teh'), as well as a beautiful array of side dishes at the incredible Go Thee Oh Cha restaurant. Hanging out with P'Thee, this genius of a cook, and the flavors in his kitchen are simply life changing - it is with the utmost pleasure that we are sharing in some lunchtime amazement with you today.

Currently I am working on a project in a mainly solo setting. As I was eating my dinner it seemed way too quiet. I thought about your video today ( I watched it earlier) and decided to re-watch it. This time I re-watched it for the heart content. I am from a very large, loud family and with covid limiting our gatherings and with my solo work, I needed the nourishment of the noisy people more than the delicious meal today. Thank you for sharing your food knowledge. Also, thank you for sharing the active humans that accompanied the meal.

when I saw the bone tea I was excited! it's the technique that makes the difference in broth & tea. mama & grandmother made "double tea/chicken tea" when we were sick. the premise being to get the most nutrition in as few bites as possible.

Sabaidee Joel and Li! Oh man that meal looked so SAEP SAEP! Bak Kut Teh, Khao Man Gai, the pork dish, dry hot pot and Korean ramyeon - so random haha. I actually have the Carbonara flavor currently. Not surprised it wasn't spicy for y'all. Mark did the fire ramen challenge awhile back and had no problem with it.
Maaaaaan OH man. Sonexay bro, I do indeed have a new favorite restaurant in Thailand, this place, maybe even including that Korean “special” mama 😂 🔥 🥵 👍🏽, all in all just MIND-blowingly awesome… haha AND a few weeks later we went back, flew there just purely for fun (we haven’t done one of those in a long time, amazing!!!!), it was JUST as good as I remembered, as good as I was hoping….

Joel, bah kut teh is originally from port klang or in the past port swettenham. I live in this town klang. There are hundreds of bah kut teh stalls here. I am not sure where this chinese thai fellow get his recipe but yeah we have dry and soup bah kut teh. Even singapore has bah kut teh but is not the original of course. The broth is white.
