50 THAI CURRY Selections - Epic Southern Thai Buffet at "Nai Lam" Curry Over Rice (HATYAI)

- One of the BEST parts about a food trip to Southern Thailand is going to be the abundance of flavor you'll find, at incredibly affordable prices. Its a great morning when confronted with such a local, mega FLAVORFUL place serving "Kaaow Raad Gaeng," Thailand's favorite rice and curry buffet!
This is our final day in Hat Yai (for summer of 2022 anyways!), and we had to finish with a truly epic lunch - a perfect time to visit "Uncle Lam" and his selection of approximately FIFTY different dishes of curry! In the end, I make a selection of 7 different dishes, and we get down to celebrating a beautiful visit to this very special corner of Thailand.
Hat Yai is not the capital of Songkla province, although it is by far the largest town, but Hat Yai is DEFINITELY your ultimate Southern Thailand destination when you want a one-stop spot for the best local food. Its literally blowing our minds how after living in Thailand now for over 10 years, there are STILL so many dishes down in the South that we have yet to try!

@@JoelsTastyRide a beer with our steamed crabs that have Old Bay Seasoning all over them is an awesome pairing. As you eat the spices are all over your hands so it happily gets in your mouth. I probably eat way too much crab living at a small beach resort
As a child we lived with the sea to the east and Lake Macquarie to the west with only a few miles between each and our home in the middle...needless to say we did a lot of fishing, crabbing and prawning also gathered oysters and clams etc. Like Li we love eating crab straight from the shell sucking the sweet meat from every crevice and if we had fish without bones (fillet) we refused to eat it because we love sucking the meat off the bones. Dad taught me about fish bones when I was 3-4yrs old and I've never choked on any at all. I'm 72yrs old and taught my two sons Troy 49 Damien 42 to eat as I did...😋

YAAAY! What a great spread! My wife says there's a "Nai Lam" buffet in Chiang Mai but not like this southern ,monster, treat! What a selection! You could spend days there, alone. My wife doesn't even know some of those. The coconut milk with No-Mai (bamboo shoots) Cha Om (climbing Wattle) is new to her and we have Cha Om in our yard! Some of that Gang (curry) might be a LEeeetle too spicy for me if it's making you hic-up on the 1st bite! I'd love to try it anyhow! Another great find!
