You've finally done it! The jacket looks great on you! I agree with your thoughts on Canada Goose cutting corners; I had a Canada Goose Citadel parka a few years ago, and it served me well for 10 years. It was a good parka, and I do miss it! However, I'm very happy with my 66North Tindur down parka now.

@@WillFaulkner Yes, it is my main parka. It's too early to say if it's warm for me, though I have not had any cold temperatures here in Toronto.

@@dlzmedia2792 Yes and No. Specially Canada Goose, they never go on sale here in CAN but they do “Friends and Family” events from time to time where you can buy CG jackets/parkas on a cheaper price.
OR, OSC, Arcteryx, TNF, Eddie Bauer have sale events on special holidays & dates like Black friday, boxing day etc.

Another great video Will. You are a class act. I have 3 of these, the Langford, + Moose Knuckles, North Face Expedition Grade & Fjallraven, bought based on your review of it. Totally warranted and accurate. Durning the pandemic, with way to much time and money on my hands bought dozens of winter coats. Nothing else to do but buy em and test em!
I think that the Expedition is cozy. And warm. But not as warm as it's weight would suggest. And ridiculously overpriced, for what you get and for the quality. I find that they wear out, specifically at the cuffs. And for all it's apparent ruggedness, anywhere where abrasion happens on occasion. And a real deal breaker is the absence of a hem draw cord.
Recent Mooseknuckles seems to be as warm. I have some older ones that used real goose down to 90% fill which are much warmer than current ones. Yes, quality from where I sit has gone done everywhere. And by large degree. These old Mooseknuckles are my personal favorites, for it's combination of warmth, style and comfort. MK may or may not be as warm or better the CG, but they are more comfortable and easier to move around in.
The CG Langford sucks. Here on the beach in SM, CA, even a moderate Marine breeze with a bit of fog and wind in 40+/- 2 F cuts right through the coat, freezing my, well you know.
The Fjallravens are great, albeit a bit weird. The Expedition light may be as warm as the CG Expedition. And seems to be more durable. And crisp. The Full Expedition is absolutely warmer than the CG Expeditions I have. But a bit bulky, just like the CG expedition. But they seem to repel humidity better the CG. But they feel cold and weird to my skin when first putting on. Perhaps because of the material. But it goes away after a few minutes. And pound for pound these should be warmer by far as use Goose rather than Duck Down. Don't like duck down comparatively. Apples to Apples, I find Goose down is twice as warm and 40% lighter for similar effect. And feels better. Elfen and airy with better breathability compared to duck down. No brainer given a choice.
Finanly, favorite. The North Face Retro McMurdo?. Not sure which. But all the expedition grade parkas are as good. This is not your standard NF product, which in my opinion is generally trash. They do still make mountain grade stuff on occasion and in limited runs. This is one of them. At $700 USD list and $500 USD street, they are cheap. This retro is half the weight ( or less) of GG Expedition and MK Sterling, warmer than both and has a true waterproof shell. Dryvent. Dryvent can be problematic. Though I find it outperforms say a Gortex Pro Arcteryx Alpha SV in repelling rain, it does so at a cost. I does not breath as well. Could be a problem for some. But i have not noticed it. And given parka's lighter weight and much better maneuverability I wouldn't care. And don't. And this parka is absolutely bomb proof!

My wife and I both bought the Expedition parkas about 5 years ago. Here in Minnesota it is necessary as essential item in the winter. Love the fur trim and it works great on the hood keeping the wind out and heat in. We didn’t buy this parka for fashion, we bought it to survive a winter out in the great white north. Thanks for the Video Will.

Have you ever tried Mackage? I just purchased a Mackage Sullivan parka. Truth be told, I have never tried on a Canada Goose jacket, but the Mackage was unreal. I would put my money on Mackage any day over CG. I can also say that the Mackage could be paired with business attire without the overly typical Canada Goose logo.

I don’t really make my decisions based on warranties, but it is something to consider if you’re worried about it. I would say to research how great is Canada goose actually with the lifetime warranty and do they deny claims a lot.
