- South African President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the outcomes of the 15th BRICS Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa on August 24. He said, “We've reached an agreement to invite Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and UAE to become full members of BRICS. The membership will come into effect from January 2024.”

Common thread within these countries is trade, freedom, equality,resource safeguarding, engineering, science en technology from some more developed states within BRICS block
Oh, this is BIG! You have Iran and Saudi Arabia as new members! And so MANY new members! I hope this does not create a chaos. The meaning is to respect every country's domestic politics but Iran and Saudi Arabia have difficult religious issues and what about China and its Uighurs with four Muslim countries? If these countries really can achieve a peaceful co-operation there is no question about somebody involved in this expansion being worth of the Nobel Peace Prize
They’ll get along by ignoring each others corruptions and human rights abuses to “save face”. And spouting empty platitudes about how great and inclusive and transparent they are…while having their personal wealth in western banking systems as a safe keep,in case the inevitable happens.
BRICS won't be like Nato and the UN because it's controlled by the west.. and i hate the fact that we need to be warned as if Africans are idiots. The west made us seem like we are idiots that decisions need to made for us.. we are pretty smart. And we'll survive like we always do

The countries that were allowed to join BRICS are countries that export most to the west. Only Iran is not exporting but has oil and its a nuclear power country.

Expansion not fair
While the BRICS countries' economic power is undeniable, achieving true global leadership also involves upholding democratic principles, respecting human rights, and addressing corruption to ensure a stable and prosperous future for their citizens and the global community. Algeria government desperate attempt to join the Brics has a sole purpose is to keep its war going against Morocco
Most of these countries had 0 human rights, even the most corrupt elliot does not want to park their money in these countries. Did you ever heard Putin or any other corrupt ruler park their money in Chinese currency or anyone want to park their money in Russian Rubles LOL.
There is too much corruption in these countries, like India their is now law and order at all, so it will not work out.

My Dear , you do not understand the geopolitics behind it. Let's start with Egypt. It controls a very important sea route. Google it and find it out yourself. So the strategic significance of Egypt cannot be ignored. Second , Argentina has vast reserves of Rare earth minerals which are used to make modern era semiconductors and batteries for EVs. Lstly , Ethiopia, is the horn of Africa. Even though it is landlocked state , it borders 6 African countries leading up to Gulf of Aden. So Strategically , it has lot of Merit.

BRICS by definition are the 5 fastest economic superpowers born after WW2, so France and Japan don't qualify. Israel is more aligned with USA so it avoids BRICS
