      Best part about the current US run system is: $32 trillion in debt, US credit score to drop for a second time to AA+. The USD is tethered to oil which is the ONLY reason it has any value still. 90% of the US stock market is owned by 10% of its citizens. Multiple recessions because of the shenanigans US banks are doing. I could go on, the government shutting down over and over because of failed budget negotiations. Any other system would at least have the ability to function correctly and legally. Good luck with the dollar!

    A retired Indian NSA said recently that domestic policies are run on values while foreign policy is run on naked self interest. India will be found in several groupings but it has three priorities. The first being its own security and economic prosperity. The second priority is to prevent Cold War type blocks and tensions. Finally, the third priority is to look out for the global south.

      I disagree. Many politicians around the world thought the EU experiment would fail as well - for the same reasons. A German friend explained it to me like this: A person from Tennessee and a person from Georgia here in the states might disagree on something but they're still US citizens and would fight together in a war if they must. A Frenchman and an Italian who have beef and then have to saddle up on the battle field? Kinda dicey. Not to mention the competing interests of each individual country and that country's internal politics. Yet here we are and the EU is still running fairly well despite it's issues. BRICS might be having trouble at the moment but I would not count them out. We should take BRICS seriously, in my opinion.

    While I share India's concerns about China's attempts to convert BRICS into an arm of their own soft and hard power, I genuinely hope that overall this can rise to be a real competitor to the Western economic order. I say this as an American, but not as an elite. I do not benefit from Wall Street's hegemonic control over global finance, but I would benefit from it being challenged.

    • @serebii666
      @serebii666 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't worry, China is its own biggest enemy when it comes to Soft Power. They cannot get over their inferiority complex which betrays their ham-fisted ways.
      "I say this as an American, but not as an elite." The mere fact of you being an American already makes you a global elite. You are within the top 10% of wealthiest people alive.
      "I do not benefit from Wall Street's hegemonic control over global finance," Yes you do. Wall street affects the US economy and you are active in the US economy. You benefit from America's dominant position in global affairs, it is what keeps your gas and commodities cheap and you living in luxury unparalleled to the vast majority of the world. You have to be extremely myopic to think that as an American, America does not benefit you.

    China has a two tiered currency system which A) has been incredibly useful for them in manipulating the currency value allowing them to become the world manufacturing HUB and B) is not a free floating currency. In order for this de dollarization to be anything other than political posturing China would need to open it's currency to the markets to even contend with the USD. China has no intentions of ever doing this since making it's currency free floating would instantly see the value soar and hurt all domestic manufacturing.
    China and India are not allies and both of them benefit from the current status quo. You can take BRICs seriously the day you see China remove it's two tier currency structure. Don't hold your breath.

I have to also question the long term position of Italy and Japan in G7. Each for different reasons. Italy: could they be the next to exit the EU? Japan is an aging country, a mature economy that desperately needs stimulus. That stimulus is not likely to emerge from the West. And Japan largely has good relationships with current BRICS member states. Could BRICS be an attractive alternative for them over the next 15 to 20 years? I am going to watch this space with great interest.

      Did any of that involve G7 nations having military engagements with each other? Because that is what has happened between India and China in 2020-2022, with no real reason to think there won't be more on the way.
      I don't think that those two countries are going to just drop the whole border dispute, shrug off the KIA soldiers, and become allies just to spite the West.
      And I don't think Brazil is a sure thing for BRICS by any means. Their new government is a change in political direction which may result in a different geopolitical outlook. But, in general, Brazil has cooperative relationships with the United States and other Western countries. Perhaps one of the most important of these is the fact that Brazil's air force uses Swedish Gripen fighters. If your best fighter jets are supplied by a country that is joining NATO, that kind of limits how much you want to court countries like Russia and China.

    • @serebii666
      @serebii666 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Musafir1333 That's not how international trade works. And especially in the Context of BRICS, where the Chinese RMB is extremely manipulated, that will not happen.
      Let me break it down for you, since you obviously do not understand how international trade works: to trade between countries with different currencies, both parties need to come to an agreement on the value of their goods or services in their respective currencies. But especially for countries with highly manipulated currencies, like Russia and China, there is no trust in the value of their currencies. So the countries choose a currency that everyone can agree on its value. And that is exactly why the US dollar is so powerful, because of all the countries in the world, only the US has an economy and therefore currency so robust that everyone can rely on it to maintain its value. It is also the reason why international trade is conducted in the LEAST amount of currencies possible, to keep that trust high, since keeping track of currency fluctuations is a great ordeal. None of the BRICS countries have economies or currencies robust enough with institutions stable enough and governments trustworthy enough to maintain the trust necessary to use their currencies.
      It is exactly the reason why ALL of the main global currency reserves are in currencies of economically developed, democracies, rule-of-law obeying countries.
      "systematically dollar will lose it's value that will crash US economy gradually and one day suddenly." There would be nothing sudden about shifting the entire global economic order. Even the worst crisis to hit the value of the dollar, the 2008 Recession, did absolutely nothing to change the reserve structure of the world. And when we look historically, it took the UK pound 100 years and national bankruptcy brought on by fighting WW2 to lose to the dollar, after the US had already eclipsed them economically for decades, and they are still the 3rd largest reserve currency today. I'm sorry, you are just plain delusional. You really have no concept how economies, let alone global commerce operates, in the modern day or historically.

  • @lp9280
    @lp9280 ปีที่แล้ว +35

    The big issue is to consider BRICS as alliance, that cannot be further from the truth. Yes 5 countries share one thing in common - they are sort of second place winners in the world economics and politics. So in that sense they are similar to G7, but the difference is that countries in G7 shares values and are in some form of alliance outside of G7. Hence I always find it ridiculous when people compare BRICS army size to NATO... simply said, there will never be conflict where we find BRICS on one side and NATO on another. Brazil will never join any war with South Africa in Africa and vice versa, South Africa will never join in war in South America, neither of them will join wars in Europe, nor Asia.
    Likewise India won't fight wars in Europe, Africa or South America. So what we just established that BIS of BRICS will never be in direct conflict with NATO. This leaves China and Ruzzia that have imperial goals of world domination, or at least they want to site at the table with US when it comes to world domination in 3 ways (perhaps 4 is we count EU).
    But here is the kicker - China and India is basically at low intensity war, both works against each other in strategic sense (check out string of pearls vs. necklace of diamonds policy). China and Ruzzia actually both have claims to far east and nearly went to war over it and likely would go at it again.
    In short BRICS cannot be more divided, each country has different policy, different strategy and compete with other countries again the think they have in common is their "developing" vs. "developed" status. And as well I would say it should be BRITENKS and not BRICS, because there is huge list of over countries like Nigeria, Turkey or Egypt that are on the same level from pure development sense. So what BRICS agrees on? They only agree on general principle of globalisation and they all agree that protectionism is bad. That is all, it is probably closer in concept to OPEC, where exporting, resource rich nations are trying to agree on forming a cartel against importing nations. The only problem is that OPEC has single product, so they can all agree on policy, whereas BRICS all have different products and resources, so they can't even decide on policy themselves. Both India and China are heavy oil importers, Ruzzia is heavy exporter... same goes for other commodities. At best BRICS exists to prevent each nation to stepping onto each other toes and it isn't even very successful in that... so it is long way from world dominating force.
    As well it is quite funny to say BRICS represents 40% of world population... I mean.. yeah - China and India alone are 32%... problem is - population does not matter. As well it would be fair to say that G7 Represents much more than just 7 states, it certainly represents all NATO and EU members as well.

      There would not be a need for BRICS, if the western project had not failed. West had its change, but all they tried to do is to dominate everyone else.

    First the BRICS must have a non-aggression treaty between all nations of the group.
    Second, the BRICS must build a common payment system for interbank transfers.
    Third, the BRICS must expand the NDB to become equal to the IMF or WB.
    Fourth, BRICS countries must have a preferential trade for core technologies and critical minerals like Oil, Gas, Metals like Cobalt, Silicon, Nickel, Rare Earths etc.
    Fifth, the BRICS members must work together for a common program in the UN to change the global financial system.

    Very very simple explanation.
    After ww2 Bretton Woods agreement. Basically the worlds reserve currency would be the US dollar backed by gold.
    US economy was spending far too much money triggering a cause of concern from other countries. These countries then demanded the US pay them back in gold, which the US would never do.
    Fast forward to 1971 when Pres. Nixon abandoned the gold standard and effectively removing responsibility for the US gov't atrocious spending habits.
    This effectively made the US dollar a fiat currency. Fiat: Latin term meaning a mode of echange in circulation through the use of force.
    Think of it this way..
    When Governments need money the Central Bank prints money to loan to the Fed Reserve. The Federal reserve agrees, and in turn gives the central bank IOU's in the form of government bonds. Other countries buy US government bonds in order to falsely manufacture a weak currency so more financially affluent countries will trade with them.
    It is all about control. I applaud BRICS for getting out of the totalitarian regime of Central Banks and the Federal Reserve.
    Also think of it this way.
    The first dollar the Central bank ever loaned into existance was paid back with interest.
    If only one dollar was loaned into existance how was that debt repaid with interest? The answer, the interest was created out of thin air. In order for our economy to exist debt must come first. In order for new money to be created, debt must be created first. We are then new slaves, we just arent persecuted by our color anymore rather by a system meant to control us.

    Competition is a good thing, so the existence of both Brics and the G7 will likely have more benefits than negatives. Brics will likely face more challenges then the G7 as the G7 are closely aligned on western democratic principles and share similar goals. Whereas the Brics countries are vastly different to one another.
