    If you have the money to buy one of these the last thing on your mind should be worrying about fuel economy. Don't buy one if you are trying to be a hyper miler...its a truck, built to do truck things, its not a Prius. Don't even look at one if you will whine about fuel economy. In the real world you might see 15-18mpg on the highway LOL.

      In the real world you will never be able to. Unless you are the only occupant and you have a perfect 1000lbs of tongue weight. Any more and you will be over the GVW. It truly is no different than any other 1500 series truck. You always exceed GVW before hitting max towing.
      Now don't get me wrong I wouldn't hesitate to tow a flat bed with a bobcat weighing that much. But I would never tow a 10,000lb house trailer that big with this or any other 1500 series.

    My dad bought a ‘72 Wagoneer through a military program when we moved from Italy to an AF base in eastern Washington state. I was one at the time of the move but we had the vehicle for a few years and I can still remember driving through the property we owned off base doing vermin control. We leased property out to some rancher that grazed cows out there. My mom especially missed that “car” when we got transferred to CA and my dad didn’t think we still needed it. It made such an imprint on me, have always wanted a white Wagoneer.

    I'd be careful with the multiple references to "premium American craftsmanship." Yes, he has to justify the $100K price tag. But the reality of the brand's track record is significantly less inspiring.....and I say that as the past owner of two XJ Cherokees, a Wrangler and an original Grand Wagoneer. I also would point to the questionable image of the average dealer, who is simply not up to speed on catering to the clientele that can afford this class of vehicle.

The smaller engine also is reported to provide a 2 mpg improvement in gas mileage. Lastly, the suburban interior didn’t even come close to a Grand Wagoneer. In fact, the interiors of suburban are just now getting close to a Grand Wagoneer of the late 80’s and early 90’s. 80’s and 90’s suburban were a sea of cheap plastic that faded daily in the sun and the thin threadbare carpet looked like it should be in bass boat or pontoon boat.

      Kind of odd they don’t have the E-torque system on it already, but maybe there’s good reason for that, being as it’s not overly effective

    • @gasolinediesel972
      @gasolinediesel972 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tylerwalk7699 The 5.7 wagoneer does have the E-torque. This 392 engine is stolen directly from the scat packs and SRT's which are not set up for E-torque which is why the grand wagoneer doesn't have it. Also the fact that it would be pretty much useless because this engine has more than enough power.

    I have to admit that I wasn't impressed with the new Grand Wagoneer because I thought it was too soft for going off-road. Yep, that's different. Still curious on the payload, and would love to see those power numbers in the heavy duty trucks. Nicely done!

      1360lbs to 1580lbs depending on options. Towing 10,000lbs in the real world will come down to a numbers game. It won't happen unless you ignore payload/GVW limits in moat real work scenarios.

    I'm old enough to remember vividly when Chrysler/Dodge meant the absolute worst of the Big 3. You'd look under their products and find the cheapest of everything; cost-cutting everywhere. Since Fiat bought them in 2010, that has slowly started changing for the better. First the ZF transmission, one of the best in the world, started showing up. That would NEVER have happened with the old Chrysler. Then Brembo, Bosch, Multi-Air engines, etc. When you look at the magnificent quality of the Wagoneer today, best of breed underneath, no cheapo cost-cutting, you are seeing the results from Fiat ownership. FCA was the best thing to ever happen to Chrysler in 50 years. Hopefully Stellantis will continue that transformation.

    Something TFL trucks needs to investigate is all these new Jeep vehicles is great but the problem I have is we purchased a new
    2020 Jeep Gladiator for $56,000 and had an issue with the front axle and they can't get parts so the warranty is no good if they
    can't supply parts to fix them and I am not the only Jeep owner that's having problems. Jeep needs to fix the parts issue!

    Didn’t get above 15 mph while towing that horse trailer. That wheelbase, with that weight, would be beyond white knuckle towing experience at freeway speeds. Great looking suv, but I would never put that kind of weight behind it.
